Hi,
So I recently traveled out of the US to China for vacation, and when I was there I decided to check/download some updates for my Downloaded apps in the Android Market. Notably I could not see the Android Market Front Page when connected in China (must be Google block?), however I could see which of my apps had updates.
However, I'm back in the US now and when I go into the Market to update my apps, none of the downloaded apps are showing. I tried using Appbrain to update them, but that failed as well, and now the only apps that show up in my Market are the ones Appbrain listed as having updates. I tried using an app like Market History Delete but that didn't work either.
I figure it must be some Market sync issue or something, but is there anything that can be done short of doing a complete factory wipe? Thanks.
My wife and I came back from a 6 month stay in China last year. I had a similar issue. I think I has to go under manage applications, filer for "All", and force stop the app then uninstall updates. I then rebooted the phone and it worked for me. My wifes phone had the same problem but my solution did not work for hers. So I dont want to say it will work for you, but its did for me. I'm afraid I dont know what else to tell you. Let me know if it works for you.
Hello,
My phone (out of warrenty) was dropped in water, so had to change some hardware outside. After which I kept getting play store errors. Many apps would also throw random errors, even after doing factory reset. So I thought may be ROM too need to be flashed due to new hardware. I searched for the Stock ROM (Kitkat 4.4.4) and found one (phone shows 21.11.27.titan.retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03retin). I flashed it (I just had to run a file on fastboot mode - Auto Restore Script.bat). After that I havent been able to install apps through play store. It keeps popping error 495. I can install a few apps at random, but not everything. I did the whole process at least 3-4 times again, changed wifi connection etc. No luck. Any help here?
PS: I am totally a new person to all android related stuff, but ready to learn if right instructions are given. Thanks.
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!
yuppie, on lollipop now!
@garrittw: your response is a little too late You see, in my desperate attempts to make my phone work, I got it on Lollipop 5.0 (used the files from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...m-1-tweet-rate-thread-add-poll-titan-t2989793)
The end scene is that everything is working on my phone. But it took a lot of time to make it happen. After installing gapps, I continuously got google play services error. The same play store problem persisted too. But this time something different happened. After 2-3 attempts at downloading one app, i got it to donwload. Also updated google play services somehow. It was frustrating though as for every app download I had to try multiple times. Surprisingly amazon appstore downloads were successful. So I also used that to download the ones available there. But I am happy now that my phone works perfectly with all the apps that I need up to date . I am feeling so happy about it, as this was my first stint at android troubleshooting as a total novice
However I still think I will run into the same play store problem whenver I would try to update any app, so I think I will use your patch anyway. Thanks

Try this:
Settings > Apps > swipe until you see category "all"
Search for "Google Play Store" and clear data.
Search for "Googe Services Framework" and clear data.
Now open the play store and try to install something.
If you still get 495 go to Settings > Accounts and delete your Google account. Restart phone and add your Google account. Should be fixed.
tried everything on 495, no luck

I had tried ALL the suggestion on the internet for 495, nothing worked. Even flashing multiple versions of systems dint work. Still get 495 at times with the 5.0.2, but works when i try multiple times. I also tried different wifi connection, no luck there too
Both my google play, and Android wear are completly updated. However when ever I try to start certain apps it tells me i need to update either google play services or android wear, both of which are the current version. This seems to effect mostly the google apps like google keep. Any Ideas, I just got this about 2 days ago.
This is happening to me too. On the Android Wear phone app, certain actions are either greyed out (navigation) or missing entirely (texting). When I try to open certain apps on the wear I get a grey screen that says "Update Android Wear on your Phone". And that's it. Other apps like custom watch faces will not properly sync or update and give me a "Try updating google play services" error message.
I've tried resetting the watch several times along with resyncing apps, reinstalling the Wear phone app, etc. None of these are fixing the issue.

Yup. Same think. Also i see that some people are able to even text via the watch though the phone which i cannnot do.
My watch still says android Software version 5.0.1 but my friend who had his longer has been 5.1.1 for a long it me now. This is one of the big reasons for me to think of rooting and trying a custom ROM but I dont really see any. Or even flash the update myself.
The watch won't update until your phones updated.
Go into settings on the watch, check out the build number. If it contains 'sprat-userdebug' in the string then you aren't on a base rom and you need to flash it stock. Just got mine and apparently this was/is known from a batch that went in to the reseller market. BestBuy got nailed by it and lots of pissed off people.
There is a tool here that can help you get on a stock rom that will allow the OTA updates to happen.
I'm in the same boat, haven't had a chance to try it yet but will report back tonight.
EDIT:
Worked great - flash back to the stock ROM, pair with your phone and it will get the OTA updates. They take awhile and process one by one, but success. Good luck! I had a rough time getting the ADB drivers on Win 8.1, although I think it's my crappy laptop. Worked on a Win 7 machine I had around without issue.
All my google play services were wiped out, Google play crashes when I try to open. Is my tablet hosed? Don't they test these effing updates?
So in perusing my apps in the Play Store the other day, I noticed an app called SystemUpdates by chondong. I've never installed this app and there is no option to uninstall it.
It was created and forced into my phone on June 15.
I don't buy for one second that this is a system update app as the phone had the ability to search for and receive OTA updates prior to this being installed. The only description in English says "Update update the internal system of the application" (yes, it says update twice).
This is a Chinese phone and I'm very skeptical of what this app is.
Permissions are intrusive as well; see screenshots.
Any thoughts on this? Reading the feedback on the app, I'm not the only one concerned about this and it appears it doesn't only apply to ZTE, but other Chinese phones as well.
Let's keep this thread alive until someone can answer...
I just noticed the same app on my Axon A1R. One difference though - mine says it is produced by ZZte.
I have no idea when the app was installed (for sure less than 3 weeks ago - I know I went though all my apps because I was having WiFi issues and wanted to make sure it wasn't caused by a random app I'd downloaded). There is no way to uninstall it. I managed to disable it - but that just made the 'System updates' section disappear in the Settings>About Phone menu.
I'm starting to think that installing a mod OS published by some random person might be safer than using the Google approved, ZTE modified and FIDO distributed OS.

It looks to me that you need to do a factory reset, and discontinue installing non-play store apps.
If you did indeed get it from the Play Store, then report it to Google, so it won't be there anymore.
But I find it really hard to believe it came from the Play Store, as Google does a lot of testing of new apps.
My watch has updated, but now my phone keeps popping up this message:
Please update Zenwatch Manager to match your Zenwatch's system version.
I have uninstalled the Zenwatch Manager, reinstalled it, but same thing. Does anyone have any ideas about this? The version installed on my phone is version 3.2.0.170213.
I'm still on AW1.5 but my manager is at 3.3.0.170620
Maybe check APKMirror.com for an update?
Go to Play Store page of Zenwatch manager and scroll to bottom, subscribe to beta channel and update the app after few mins when it becomes available. Should fix the error.
Thank you both for your replies. Installing v3.3.0.170620 fixed the problem. However, now I have another problem. It seems to be impossible to transfer Google accounts from the phone (HTC 10) to the watch. It just hangs forever. I googled for this and noticed it is not an unusual problem, but I have yet to find a solution. Grrr!

Thank you for your suggestion. I thought I had tried this, but I just tried it again on mobile data, and still no go. I found this thread on Google forums, but none of their suggestions have worked either: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/android-wear/-4T3iZZUObg

Hi, do you have multiple accounts on your phone? If yes, delete all but one, and it should be better.
I have 3 accounts on my phone, so I was stuck like you. Keeping just the one I wished to use on the watch made it work in an instant.
Let us know if that helped

That's a negative. I only have one account. I have done a full reset, then waited until the Android Wear app prompted me to create my account again, and re-added it there. Nothing is working. I have cleared cache and data on AW, Google Play, Google Play Services, removed all my accounts (google, facebook, htc, GoPro, etc), turned off Bluetooth and Wifi, then did the full factory reset, and still no luck. I am now considering re-flashing the watch via sideload. I am pretty frustrated, to say the least.
zenwatch 3 android 2 and zen watch manager beta
I have update to android 2 and updated zenwatch manager to beta, now i cant edit any watch faces on manger... anyone else finding this. thanks

aaw too bad
I had that issue, and this is a Wear 2.0 problem, not only this watch. Most of the "help" I found was related to the new LG watches.
I read some actually made so they had no account at all on the phone and forced the initial login on both phone and watch at the same time to make it work.
Are you a custom rom user? If yes, try to start from scratch with the rom clean flashed (after all the backups, of course) and see if that helps. (I am on OP3 + custom AOSP rom, if that can help you to rule that out).
Some people said you should go through all the tutorials on the watch, or try to add an account from the Google assistant on the watch, not sure what made it work for me.
But that sucks to have to jump through so many hoops to make a watch work!

Same here, as far as I can tell, but I tried very shortly since I don't like any default watch faces coming with Zen watch manager

I am not running a custom ROM, only a rooted stock one with very little self mods. I have read at least 1000 messages pertaining to this problem, and have tried nearly every suggestion mentioned. Nothing has worked. I feel pretty certain it is an Android N problem, as it seems everyone running 6.x is not having problems, but many people with v7.+ are. I will try sideloading the watch tomorrow with a re-flash. I will also check out the ASUS forums and see if anyone else is having this problem. Until then, I will remain hopeful. Thanks for your reply.

i found you can edit the watch face directly on the face, not from the phone app,
Okay guys, I finally got it to transfer my account to my watch. Whew! I know I tried these steps all before, but I found this, and went through it all again very carefully, but I DID set up a second Google account first, without syncing it. I found this on the Google forums and is credited to Andy Roberts:
Andy Roberts said:
Let's try resolving this by starting fresh with cleared cache on your apps required for your watch on your phone and pairing the watch again to your phone .
From your phone:
1) Open the Android Wear app and use the Disconnect option.
2) Now make the app forget your watch: Navigate to: Settings --> Device settings and touch the watch name, select FORGET WATCH.
3) Let's now remove your watch from your bluetooth settings: Settings --> Bluetooth -->If you still see the watch, select the option to forget/remove.
4) The next stage is to clear the app cache for the following apps on your phone:
Settings --> Device --> Apps, --> Google Play Services --> Clear cache and Clear data.
Settings --> Device --> Apps, --> Android Wear --> Clear cache and Clear data.
Settings --> Device --> Apps, --> Google App --> Clear cache and Clear data.
5) Open The Google Play store and make sure you have installed any pending app updates, if there is, make sure you update them.
6) Now reboot your phone.
From your watch
1) On the watch, navigate to: Settings --> Unpair watch to perform a factory reset.
Once your Android watch has been reset and your phone has rebooted, follow the steps on this link to reconnect your watch to Android Wear app on your phone: https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056630?hl=en-GB&ref_topic=6056389
It will take a while for your apps to sync over to your watch, some apps are large in size and may take a day to sync over.
You can make Android Wear Resync the apps, you might need to do this if for some odd reason some apps are missing or connection to the watch was disconnected:
Phone-->Android Wear-->Settings-->Select Watch-->Resync apps.
PLEASE NOTE: Remember it takes a long time to sync apps, this is so it doesn't greatly affect your watch battery, so please don't press the Resync button too many times, leave it for a day before pressing it again which should not be required.
End Andy Roberts
Something else that might be important: The Android Wear app seems to be a two step process. You really must exit it once your phone gets stuck saying waiting for setup to continue (or something like that) and the app is just sitting there saying Connected. Kill all your apps, then run the Android Wear app again, and it will start up a continuation wizard. This is were the accounts actually get set up. It showed both, the new one I had just set up, and my very old previous one I wanted to keep. The rest is self explanatory.
