Hello,
finally I'm creating this thread where you can discuss about Tangerine, ask questions, post your problems... Without filling the development thread.
You don't know where to post something? This schema will help you.
Questions about the kernel (Does it have ****?) > here
Problems you faced, and/or their solutions > here
Things I should read/know > the development thread
Questions that can be answered by any user (not only by me) > here
Miscellaneous posts > here
In a nutshell, if you have to post something that I have to read, post it in the development thread, otherwise use this thread.
I will not read this thread at all. Or maybe I'll check it every now and then
Development thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/orig-development/kernel-tangerine-kernel-v1-t3073297
I've flashed 7.1 on ArchXperiaLP and got bootloop...then have tryed 6.6 a1 and gets bootloop...finally I reflashed ArchXperiaLP from scratch and left tangerine away...can I flash that update safely now? I've used twrp flashed keenel and wipes cache/dalvik previous tries...
Where I'm wrong?

@Tomoms, is there any downside to disabling HW Overlay!? I don't really know what that settings does.

Sorry for being a bit offtopic, but there is any other custom kernel for AICP 10, except Tangerine?
While I love the features of Tangerine and I praise the work of its author, unfortunately the kernel is pretty much useless for me due to its screen/device freezing bug.
Thank you.

Sorry to say but there is no kernel atm. Use stock kernel (for me it gives better battery life)
I dunno what's wrong but cant install anything than 6.6 (non a1) and in that way I lost root...
ALL other versions wont works for me, gives me boot the system till temasek(I'm on ArchXperiaLP latest version) app opt and than reboot always(not on same app opt)after some app optinised like latest 7.2_a2 or gives me bootloops...
Any way to fix at least root with some package to flash from twrp?
PS I've flashed the kernel from cm recovery and also from twrp after flashing tangerine(recovery works well) and than flushed cache/dalvik....

You're right, stock kernel it's just fine, the only issue is that I can't install FauxSound. I need FauxSound for increasing calls volume, I have a friend I'm talking everyday and I can't hear a thing he's talking on the phone. I'm using Tangerine especially for FauxSound.

This is a long debated topic where most of us have reached the conclusion where double tap to wake should not be added. This is because the hardware on this phone doesn't support the feature and may cause severe battery drain or other major problems.

@flash- or anyone else that might be able to help with this: what if someone flash Tangerine Kernel and leave it untouched, without tinkering with any of its options. Would it still be an improvement over the Stock Kernel?
These questions (and answers) could be in the first post of the original thread, if I might humbly suggest. It would save people a lot of trouble.
To install v8 can I flash AICP ROM + T Kernel at the same time or need to flash only the rom then reboot and flash T Kernel with Rashr?

At the moment, Tangerine hasn't got any improved default setting. So flashing it and leaving it untouched doesn't improve the performance. However I'm working on a script that will set the best settings at boot!
It's normal that ater every reboot Disable HW overlay gets disabled. It's not a persistent setting.

Rashr is giving problems. Place your Philz img file in /sdcard, rename it to recovery.img, open a terminal on your phone and type:
su -c "dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel"
Then press enter and grant su access.
Or, use an old version of Rashr.
It work using rashr 2.3 version... Thanks so much.... :salute:

Hey guys!
So, to me it seems a big issue, but I hope my thing would be easy to you, I don't know that much. Here's what's happening:
I used CrystalPA before, then I decided to go for OwnROM 5.1. I performed a clean install thru CWM, but I flashed old gapps, so it bugged. Then I flashed the right gapps (delta gapps, 5.1). Still didn't worked, the home wasn't opening, so I flash the stock ROM so I could use my phone for a while. On wednesday, I rooted the stock, then flashed the ROM again, this time with outdated tangerines (they seemed to have less bugs to me - reports that on v5.0 the wifi was working, and that's pretty much all I need). This time the ROM booted and I could play with it, but the wifi switch still doesn't turn on. I flashed every tangerine I could find, from 6 to 7.2, with twrp and cwm. Nothing. Than this guy told me today to flash it all over again, this time rebooting between ROM and gapps. I did. Clean - install ROM - reboot - install gapps - reboot - flash stock kernel - reboot (soft brick, bootloop) - flash t8 - reboot. Everything works beautifully and smoth, but with no wifi it's useless to me. Any ideas??? Do I need to flash another kernel, or another ROM?
And I already flashed the tangerine again with twrp, still nothing.

I have made this thread as a common thread for all the builds out there, currently, two. One is the russian build and other is the miuiandroid build.
You can discuss here the bugs and ask questions about the bugs you have been facing. Hoping this thread would be a productive one and help the MIUI builds get more stable.
I'm in process of adding the links and making a FAQ for the MIUI v5 ROMs.
Those, who are having sim card PIN issues:
1. Be on any non-miui android rom(if you are on miui - reinstall rom to any cm/stock etc).
2. Go into the settings app > security & privacy > setup SIM card lock > disable "lock sim card"(atleast that's how the path looks on miui).
3. Install miui rom (follow specific roms guide).
For those having GPS issues:
1. Install "russian v3" miui rom (should be > here, has got gapps/franco kernel preinstalled) <, since this is the first and the only one (so far) rom that makes the gps sensor work on my nexus (might be not required on newer roms)).
2. Go into "google settings" app(not the default android app, instead the one which looks like this: this or this ) > Location > disable and reenable the "Access Location".
Gps should work after this.
For those, who are missing e-mail application:
Download it from > here.
Missing ROOT permissions?
1. Go into "System and Security" folder on desktop > Permissions.
2. Select "Root" > Enable "Enable Permission manager".

Thanks for putting this together! I was starting to get lost trying to keep up with 2 ROM builds along with all of the patches. I had a hell of a time yesterday when I flashed the version in the OP. Stupid me forgot to disable PIE in PA so when I flashed MIUI I didn't have any navigation buttons at the bottom, doh! I spent quite a while just trying to flash PA back so I could fix that. So, currently I'm back to PA and taking notes so I can flash the Russian version successfully today, fingers crossed.

Detailed Instructions of flashing are here: Install MIUI V5 ROM on the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus
I've come up with a hypothesis.
The Russian version of MIUI uses Franco's kernel, which contains a modified ram-disk. I've been trying to flash the latest Franco Kernel on top of that, which causes it to stick at the boot logo.
The only people that I've seen successfully flash another kernel on top of the Russian Version are using either Harsh's or Faux's Kernels, both of which (I believe) don't touch the ramdisk. I'm going to try to flash both Faux's and Harsh's kernels, as well as others that don't modify the ramdisk.
If this works, then it means that the tweaks that the kernel needs to boot (or at least some of them), reside in the ramdisk.

Here's how I flashed. First, in TWRP, I did advanced wipe (system, dalvik, cache, data), and then a factory reset. Then I flashed build 3 (three) of the russian MIUI, and without rebooting, flashed the kernel I wanted to test. I then wiped cache and dalvik one more time, and rebooted.

This rules that this has been ported, as I use the PhilzTouch on my Galaxy Tab2. I even donated a few $$ to him!
One question, with the shared kernel "feature" of the T, how did you avoid having it revert back to stock CWMrecovery anytime one flashes a new ROM?
Regardless, I'll try this out tonight.
Hey i always wanted this to get ported! Im using the leaked 4.3 rom and it does work but it only boots into the recovery everytime. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix this?

So how do I go about installing this?
Is it as simple as boot the "T" into flashboot mode and running

But I'd rather not blow away my phone if this is wrong.

Is there a trick to using PhilzTouch on the T to avoid the shared kernel?
I installed it via "flashboot boot philz.img" and at first glance, it seems to work the same as on my Galaxy Tab 2.
But then it turns out that its not really useable.
a) I was unable to boot back into my normal ROM. Rebooting always brought it back to PhilzTouch.
b) Even if I could have found a way to boot my phone, it turns out that PhilzTouch recovery was overwritten by the stock recovery as soon as I installed a newer CM nightly which I tend to do nightly.
hi all
can i use for TX ? do i need UL or not ? thanks
How to install this recovery?
fastboot flash boot boot.img gives me each time a reboot in recovery
fastboot flash recovery boot.img gives me an error.

You need Unlocked Boatloader at first!
1. install the 4.3 rom (any you like). Flashing the FTF with everything included
2. Flash this CWM recovery and install SU zip
3. flash FTF and exclude all except KERNEL.
Done! (limited time to write so made it short)

@steveboss where's the video?
@Phil3759
I'm having trouble to get philz to recognize the internal sdcard partition (its a real partition, not part of userdata)... what ever I try, it just keeps failing...
Do you have a possibility to build philz based on the CM10.1 or the freexperia 'jellybean' repo for this device?
I'm starting to suspect the CM10.2 repo might contain some issues as it was put together with pure CM in mind, which might make it incompatible with the stock sony JB4.3 kernel...
The Xperia T made a jump from JB4.1.2 to JB4.3 in one step up, receiving it only a month or so ago, while the CM10.2 repo has been around for far longer...
The 'original' locked bootloader package has made the same jump up recently and CWM started causing problems for it's users too.

Not seen that issue - can you provide more info?
When I put videos on youtube for the smallest my view, the type passed 3-5 minutes, the tablet loses completely the sound even at maximum volume setting is completely silent.
The same happens when I'm playing, past the same time is completely without sound, but everything still works perfectly.
Also can not understand, so sometimes when I restart or getting much time off (sleep) is to give back to sound.

Launcher - Apex. The SuperSu has updated with install zip in recovery, just after flashing ROM. (if i don't update in recpovery it wants to update throw market. and asks to load binaries... ) what can i do?
By the way if i don't flash the asus clock widget, and install google clock the font of the HOURS is semi cut (i see only half of the number by horizontal). Is that right?
P.S. What the right settings for dpi in install - I left he default 320, but on the tablet description I always see 300 (299) but not the 320. Which is right?
Hello everyone!
First of all a big thanks to sdbags for the great rom, which I use from the moment I was able to unlock my tablet!
However, lately, I am experiencing an unusual battery drain which I was not able to resolve yet. From the app BetterBatteryStats I see that my tablet is never going to deep sleep. This is apparently not due to a user wakelock (these are all in the millipercent range) but due to a kernel wakelock. However, since kernel wakelock stats are disabled in all kernels provided with CROMi-X, I can't find out the cause of my drain.
Thus I would like to recompile the kernel myself, with kernel wakelock stats enabled. Can anyone of you tell me where I can find current kernel sources for the TF701T and maybe give me some indication which compiler would be suited best.
Once compiled, I will of course share my modified kernel to anyone interested in accurate battery stats.

Thanks for the info, completely oversaw that one.
Do you use any specific toolchain like linaro or standard android to build your kernels?

Can't flash CWM 6.0.5.0 Hi, I can't flash tf701_cwm_6050.img using command "fastboot
Hi,
I can't flash tf701_cwm_6050.img using command "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery tf701_cwm_6050.img". My TF700t freezes after that.
But I can successfully flash recovery.img from droidbasement or recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-tf700t.img without issues.
I suspect that there is difference in format and I should use different method to flash tf701_cwm_6050.img.
I think so because recovery.img file content starts from "-SIGNED-BY-SIGNBLOB-.." but tf701_cwm_6050.img file content starts with "ANDROID!..."
Can you help me flash to CWM 6.0.5.0?

Not just you - this happened to me recently as well!
I ended up reinstalling the ROM at one point and that cleared the problem. I wasn't able to figure out what caused it however...

No, it's not working ...
And, can I install the new bootloader, without using the 7.1 beta 2 install?
(Using it with my 7.03 install)
Thanks for the help !

Hmm just tried and it swipes away fine...
I never tested the boot loader on 7.0.3 but it *should* work.
For me 7.1 is an improvement over 7.0.3.
Loving this rom.
I have a question. How do you change the min and max processor speeds - permanently?
Mine seems to be stuck north of 1900???
Thanks

Installing
Looks promising, it seems that some hard work and effort has been implemented in this rom, will install now and return with feedback, many thanks

Confirming the hardware button issue, also there is nothing in the settings regarding hardware buttons under the button option. Should I try another clean install ?

Status 7 fix
Hi there!
I'm new to the rooting and flashing roms business.
I had soft bricked my note GT-n7000 and after a few weeks of reading about things on the internet I have finally found the ROM that I want on my note.
It''s the [aogp 4.4.4] [unofficial] [n7000]. The problem is, whenever I try to install it, I get the Status 7 error.
This was never a problem with TWRP, but since I had to update to Clockwork Mod to install this, every ROM I try to install gives me this error.
I've tried deleting the code that mentions compatibility devices in Update Script file but no luck.
Please help!
PS: Sorry about the subject. I meant to say, status 7 fix NEEDED.
Same problem as a lot of guys. Search harder....
Flash first Raw4 kernel, reboot recovery, do all e wipes and formats, reboot again into Recovery and flash finally your Rom and Gapps...

Hey Thanks!
I was flashing the ROM with CWM and I did not know about Raw4 Kernal. I looked it up, flashed it and voila! the error disappeared.
I finally have a working phone now and a BEAUTIFUL ROM. Thanks again Jackeagle! :good:
Although, I don't understand one thing, my reactive touch keys and the home button is not working. I can use the phone with the touch screen, no problem. But the Home screen and the back and menu keys not working. [Note GT-N7000]
I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a problem with my device.
I can probably add pie control and use that as an alternative, but if there is a fix, please enlighten me!
@jackeagle
Good day Sir,
Is your rom going to be an Odexed build and not Deodexed? Is it final?
If it is final, I have some questions if you don't mind.
1. Can I delete the .odex files under system/app
2. If the .odex files can be deleted, would you also add a script to zipalign the system/app? Haven't saw if this is available under kernel tweaker.
I actually prefer the deodex as I can free more space under system/app and add/push some of my apps under system/app to free for internal space and install more apps. Coz with odex I can't free more system apps so most of the apps that I use cannot be installed as I ran out of space.
Thanks!

hello
Unfortunately, I had to go on omnirom after much disappointment.
- How to flash a little confusing for me.
* Flash supersu necessary?
* Use gapps cyanognmod causes crashes (google service)
* During an update, what does it flash? rom, gapps, supersu? Wipe Cache and dalvik necessary?
- I have problems with fluidity ...
So I handed the omnirom which seems more stable. I have a hard go about installing the AOSP.<br/>

I only noticed the problems of physical keys and resolves with jackeagle commenting. And the application of the gapps, I used the PA-gapps, and Slim-gapps, and both I failed only keyboard application AOSP, showing continuous closures (solved by deleting the app, I have installed another keyboard Google Play), except that not note problems.
Even use Bauner kernel (v1.2 is the one to use the v1.2.1 fails with internal SD not mount, error for sdCard0 mount on the USB storage, and not approachable ), and it seemed pretty good ROM, but would lack that can be modified to add the date to the Java options ( use EEEE dd MMMM yyyy - I might lie if available embers, now I'm testing several ROM's).
I use SurpeSu since seemed to improve (v2.16 )
PA-GApps & Slim-GApps BETA 8-x-317 is perfect, except keyboard AOSP, clossed continuous.
Simple:
Boot into Recovery mode and enter mount & storage and select mount on:
- System, cache, data and SDCard0
- Select the format's the same mount's made.
- We go to Install zip, I installed the ROM, the Gapps and select reboot system.
It should now boot without problems, except the AOSP keyboard, which you must uninstall I install an application to replace it.
- If you want you can install a kernel after gapps, but better probed without using any startup to test.

If you understand Spanish you can serve this guide I made on htcmania, since I is simpler translation from English to Spanish, Spanish to English, and it's done correctly it may not be understood in its full context, but even put much text, is to give information on possibilities or things to do in certain steps (example: ever following the format's must reinicair mobile, continue with the following steps, or we would play again reinstall a Rom Stock Samsun or Custom Rom format for ODIN pc), the link is this.
Be warned that installing a ROM kit-kat and allows the leap to the other, will not be necessary to install a kernel to jump to another ROM, but encambios ROM's always recommend the 4 mount's and the 4 format's, and you will Rom and install GApps.
download link is down.
can provide upload new link?
thank you!

I can add DS enabler and kernels into aroma if some of users want it but i need build.prop from dsds .253 stock rom.
Im using this Rom now for a few hours. Installation went good for me. No Bootloops at the Beginning or something like this. Additionaly i installed Xposed which works fine. Very fast and snappy feeling so far. I will give it a try. Hope to get a better Battery than before (Xpower 3.0 which gave me after a good start a very bad Battery life) I will report!
Thanks for your work so far!

Sure no Problem bro
Imho SlimPie is better for three Reasons: Batterylife is better, no Crashes (Xpower crashed about 2-3 times per Week), and the fact that it is based on .253 as Xpower is based of .224.
I changed the Rom as i got serious Batterydrain by Google Services and Google Play Services in Xpower which are now gone. Also SlimPie feels snappier, but this can be the result of the Kernel Tweaks i made in Xpower to extend the Batterylife. No additionaly Tweaks necessary in SlimPie for me so far which gives me a good feeling.
Which Rom do u use?
