AS is crashing (freezing) frequently running under W10 Pro 64 bit box. I never had a problem under Win 7. So i may revert to 7 and postpone 10 for a while. Otherwise 10 looks ok.

I'm sure this has been asked before however is there any likelihood of getting windows 8rt on or notes? Understand there are boot locks or something.

Is anyone trying to port chrome os to the Touchpad.
Imagine if someone could port android to Chromebook! The new Samsung Chromebook runs the same chipset as the Nexus 10, and for only $250.

There's already ubuntu for it, why would you want android?
I'd love to see this happen, but unfortunately Chrome OS doesn't even have a virtual keyboard any more. =\

Thats fine, to me at least.
Use Bluetooth Keyboard??
So Valve have released a beta version of Steam for Linux, and I immediately wondered if it would work on Ubuntu for the Nexus7. Surely I'm not the only one who had thought of this? I'm not game enough to try installing Ubuntu on my tablet yet, but would love to hear from anyone who has!

It's not possible. Nexus 7 has an ARM processor, and the ARM version of Ubuntu can be installed on it. Applications built for the x86 platform, such as Steam, won't work on the ARM version of Ubuntu.
An x86 emulator on Ubuntu could be a solution, but Nexus 7 is probably too slow.
Then why even care to install Ubuntu at all then?

Why not? It's because you can. Remember that a lot of ARM development is very much in the 'baby' stages. Everything in due time.

Several reasons. I use the arm compiled adb and fastboot binaries from within ubuntu on my n7 to work on peoples devices while out and about. No need to lug a laptop around. And thats only one small example.

The nexus 10 and the 7 are complete different products to me.
The 7 is actually fits in my pockets and is a portable device. The ten inch tabs don't.
Also 10 inch app support still flat out sucks on android on top of that. A 7 inch tablet you can actually get away with a phone app on it. Even apps that are optimized for the 7 often have a different layout than the larger 10 inch.
I used to bluetooth tether to my 7 and use it basically in place of my phone when I had it with me.
Depends on what you want. The 7 may be to close to a phone for some and so on.
I'll be getting the nexus 7. I've been waiting, and I can finally buy it!

What does this have to do with the Nexus 4?
Nothing.
