Credit for this goes to @ dirty.redz. His thread: Here
@evil1art also had a shutdown animation of this that I used on my S4. I give credit to him for it is this that made me seek out a bootanimation for our beloved N6.
Creepy Eye bootanimation!
After you dl rename to bootanimation.
Using a file explorer (root explorer) or one of your liking navigate to system/media
Copy and paste in here
Set permissions to rw-r-r
Reboot and enjoy!!
Awesome. Just installed it.

Haha well cool
I love the creepy eye. Thanks for sharing.
It's all just an illusion
I still have to make it (time permitting) but I was thinking of adding that killer clown from American Horror Story. Undecided on a black background or just pull a scene.

Would anyone like to try making a custom boot anim out of this? Looping forever, preferably. I think it would look amazing. Maybe with some BAMF labeling, too?

EDIT: Just FYI and in case you don't want to download the file, link is to an .mp4 file in my dropbox. The thunderstorm night weather animation from Sense 3.0.
Would love to see this!

What do you want? Like this exact thing frame by frame or a recreation?

Well if it isn't too much, an exact frame by frame would be nice. But a recreation would be just dandy, too, as long as it is pretty close. Given I am running a GB ROM with a lot of Sense 3 elements on the Thunderbolt, I thought such an animation would be quite fitting.
This would be awesome

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Does anyone know of a way or a dev that can do .mp4 to bootanimation? If you know a way (or a suggestion of a way), I'd love to try it myself or if you know a dev that may be able to do this, I can ask him/her directly.
Thanks.

Here it is!!!
Use root explorer and put it in the /system/media file.
Rename the old bootanimation.zip.old just incase you want to go back to the orginal one.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3NK4ZUK6
bootanimation
Here you go...
Sorry for no real preview but I think you will like it.
The attachments below are the start screen, 2 random frames from the animation, the ending screen, and the boot animation itself.
I imported the video as layers in Photoshop, then because the size is smaller in height than our screens I resized it and cropped it to 480 x 800.
After enlarging it the images were slightly pixelated so i softened them up a bit.
It starts out with a black "HTC quietly rooted" screen then goes into the animation with BAMF fading in with lightning effects. At the end it fades out to a black screen with "das BAMF - the baddest"
It doesn't loop but there are 131 frames total.
It works well with the original sound file.
Download the attached bootanimation.zip and put it in your /system/media folder and set permissions to rw-r--r--
Rename your original in case you want to go back.
Download
enjoy

Oh well, nothing like choices.
You both kick ass. Trying out both. Will come back with my decision.
Is this poised to be a request thread or a one shot and done deal?

Awesome. I especially like the BAMF overlay. One request, though. The baddest part at the end. Slightly cheesy for my tastes. Otherwise, perfect.

A request thread would mean that people are requesting custom boot animations on an ongoing basis. If its one and done, that means yours is the end of the thread. lol.

Well since it was so specific, I'd call it one and done. But if others want to keep it going, who am I to stop it.
Also, damn rough loss for the sharks tonight. Cheap. Win. Period.

While I didnt like the way that it ended, the Nucks deserved to win the series. They just worked harder than the Sharks in more games. Game five they were handed the game by Sharks mistakes and tonights game they got lucky. Like Randy and Drew always say "Youve gotta be lucky to be good and good to be lucky".

What Rom are you running? I tested on BAMF 2.0.5 and I have had no problems.

Hello everyone,
I found this boot animation here:
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/03/21/download-honeycomb-bee-3d-boot-animation/
It links back to xda here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000311
I couldn't find an optimized version for tablets.
So here it is.
I take absolutely no credit for anything!
All props go to danmcq !!!
All I did was take the images in the original bootanimation and make the canvas (image size) 1280x800 instead of the originals which were 480x854.
Then modified the little config file.
Tested on my Xoom running Tiamat 2.0.1 with Tachi kernel.
Works great.
Only thing that bothers me is that the original background was not truly black; it's a couple shades lighter...so the background appears a little washed out (like you have the brightness on super high).
do you need to be rooted to install this?
(sorry haven't really read up much on the xoom)
yes you do. file goes in /system/media so you need root access.
to the OP: tested the animation. looks beautiful but loads a little slowly (i'm O'C'd to 1.6ghz). very sharp graphics though. I still prefer to the flying bee animation I worked on but i'm keeping this one for the future
Looks good and run as well, great share thx.
you can also put the bootanimation.zip file in the data/local folder, then it will not overwrite the stock bootanimation.
BioniCOLORS -- Bionic Eye Boot Animations
Nothing special here, just tweaks on the stock boot animation...I'm actually a fan of the stock animation, but I wanted to switch it up a bit...
AS ALWAYS...
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE AS A RESULT OF USING THIS CONTENT, JUST AS IT IS NO ONE ELSES FAULT FOR ANY DAMAGE I MIGHT DO TO MINE. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE RISKS INVOLVED, YA MIGHT JUST BE BETTER OFF STICKING WITH STOCK. It's not that complicated, just do a little research. Plenty of knowledge floating around XDA...
Simple enough:
1:: download the .zip
2:: rename it (using ES File Explorer or Astro or any ROOT EXPLORER that will allow you to MOUNT SYSTEM AS WRITABLE) by simply cutting out the color description so that it is just bootanimation.zip
3:: copy or cut the bootanimation.zip and paste it in the system/media folder
4:: you will be warned that the merge will overwrite the existing file and that the world will end (not really, just accept the merge)
REBOOT
...don't be afraid to use the "THANKS" button...

I already have a darker blue version of the Bionic boot animation if you'd like me to share it here, just let me know. Figured it would help with keeping a one stop shop so to speak.
Here's a few screens of the shade of blue I'm referring to.

yeah, I'm interested to see how that one turns out...I expect it to be the one I use once I get it done...I'm out of town for work until Friday, so it might be a few days before the next update
I am not able to post the bootanimation.zip to the system/media file. Where would I go to fix the permissions?
I appreciate any help.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I like the orange!
alright cool...yeah, you have to use a root explorer...that will allow you to mount the system as writable. I will add that to the OP.

So, I'm a big SWTOR nerd and I have been learning how to customize my phone. I created a high quality boot animation based off the SWTOR trailer, "Return". It features some pretty exciting light saber duels. If you find any bugs or have any suggestions let me know. It took me a long time to figure out how to create these and THIS IS MY FIRST BOOT ANIMATION so be nice. it is a pretty huge size for bootanimation.zip
How to install
download the bootanimation.zip attached
place bootanimation.zip in the root of your SD card
open a file browser with root access
system>customize>resource
backup and delete current bootanimation.zip (or rename "bootanimation.old)
copy and paste SWTOR bootanimation.zip
reboot and enjoy!!
THIS IS THE FILE....
http://www.mediafire.com/?ufoqed6rcs55rwl
I'm currently working on a landscape version.
btw:
if you break your phone, i didn't do it, you did. be careful.
Man that's one huge download for a bootanimation! Does it shoot lasers? Lol will give it a shot!

yeah... its pretty big and shoots lasers. i had some trouble getting it to run, but i think i finally worked out all the kinks. i've noticed sometimes on a fresh boot the 3.0 lock screen is completely white. Just let the phone fully boot before you start pushing buttons
Soo awesome, mucho thankso ....yeah, my Spanish sucks
