Hi,
I've resized the Android Marshmallow bootanimation from the Developer Preview 3 to multiple resolutions, so people with devices of different display resolutions can use it. All credits for the original file go to Dustin Wann a.k.a. @themustached.

In the attachments you can find correct versions for 320p, 480p, 540p, 600p, 720p, 800p, 1080p, 1440p and 1536p devices. I've only tested the 480p, 540p and 800p versions, as I don't have any other devices at hand right now, but users are reporting that the other versions work as well.
In the attachments is also included a "Bootanimation Preserver" zip, which adds a script to your ROM that preserves the currently installed bootanimation when updating your system. For this to work, you need to have a ROM that supports addon.d scripts (CyanogenMOD and most other popular ROMs do).
Installation:
Flash the downloaded zip in recovery
--- OR ---
Extract the zip and copy the extracted system/media/bootanimation.zip file to /system/media/bootanimation.zip on your device and change its permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--).
Choosing the right version:
I'm getting quite a few questions about which version to choose. Generally, it depends on your resolution, choose the version accordingly to the pixel width of your screen. For example, if you have a screen of resolution 960x540 pixels, you would choose the 540p version.
Known problems:
This bootanimation will NOT work on newer Samsung devices with stock ROMs or TouchWiz-based custom ROMs. Samsung uses a proprietary QMG format for its bootanimations, and doesn't support the bootanimation.zip which we're using. There's not much we can do about this, only recommend you use a custom, AOSP based ROM like CyanogenMod or others.
If you have any CyanogenMod theme for bootanimation installed, then just installing this bootanimation will not change anything. You have to revert back to the built-in system bootanimation theme as well.
This bootanimation will most probably NOT work on Micromax devices - no idea how to fix that yet.
Some people are reporting problems with the display of the animation on Motorola devices - we weren't able to find the cause of the issue yet, we're sorry.
Troubleshooting:
If the bootanimation is still not working for you and you're sure you did everything the instructions say, we're really sorry about that, please let us know and we'll try to help.
For us to be able to help you, it would be great if you included this information in your post:
your device manufacturer and model
which ROM do you use
which version have you tried to install
if you installed via recovery or manually
what exactly is happening when you say "it's not working"
if you have tried some other custom bootanimation and if it was working for you or not (and if it worked, perhaps include the link to it as well)
pictures or videos are useful as well, if you experience some strange behaviour not easily explained by words
Thanks!
Enjoy!
Note: @xdagee packaged the bootanimation as an app for the CyanogenMod Theme Engine; if that suits you better, you can find it in his thread.
Moto G GPE 720p works perfectly ?
I use 540 for my n4, 320/480 are too small imo

XPeria S has a 1280x720 display, right? The 720p version should work fine.
thanks, works beautifully on Z Ultra, will stick with it for a while, I still prefer the Z3+ bootanimation even though it's kinda blurry on such large screen
Wanted to see how this would work/look on my S6. Any way to make the 1080 version into a .qmg file?

Well, there is a nice guide here on XDA describing how to create .qmg bootanimations.
Unfortunately, I don't use Windows, so I can't use the Samsung Theme Creator, and I don't have any Samsung device to test, so I won't be able to help you with this, I'm sorry. You can try to convert the animation yourself, though, the process looks pretty straightforward. The only problem would be that qmg bootanimations probably don't support an custom animation finish, so the bootanimation would just end abruptly and wouldn't display the Android text.
Nice ! Works on stock rom LG F70 4.4.2 Thanks!

I installed 720p for Z1C and it works, the problem is that it's just "android" in white getting darker, not like the preview you attached
Thanks for your awesome work!
if I want to change back to the default bootanimation of Sony 5.1, I just need to copy the old bootanimation and set permission in the same way?

Hi,
did you install it via recovery, or did you copy the file manually? If you did it manually, did you set the right permissions (644 / rw-r--r--)?
The white glowing Android text is the default bootanimation, which is loaded when the system can't read the custom bootanimation.zip.

I can, that's no problem, but are you sure about those dimensions? The original images are 814x214, so there would be some slight distortion with the dimensions you request. Also, the 540p version has images of size 407x107, perhaps that would suit you as well?

(Looks better on device - gif previews are limited to 256 colors)
Here are ten colors of a boot animation I made for MIUI. Now all are available with and without the MIUI tag on Andy the Android - so every version is available for MIUI regardless of screen size. All ten are available as flashable zips for other ROMs as well, made to 480x800 or 320x480 - shouldn't matter for MIUI themes, but make sure to use the right screen size for flashing method. A couple have been done for 720x1280 by request and are sprinkled through the thread and available at the download page. If you want a flashable zip for another device size, do let me know.
I will upload better previews later - larger versions are at the link below for downloads.
Sorta Matrix-like, I suppose, with the scrolling binary code. These are made from 18 static images with varying layer and opacity styles in Photoshop - I think they'd look really cool with a fly in intro series, but I'm done with animation for the moment. They're packaged for MIUI in theme format - simply upload to the MIUI themes folder and choose the bootanimation from the theme chooser menu. Let me know if you'd like a different color. All three are tested and in working order 1.11.25 MIUI.
All are also available as flashable zip's for a ROM other than MIUI, all are made to 480x800 or 320x480. : I used despotovski01's Boot Animator Creator, which makes the process incredibly simple. That said, I HAVE NOT tested the flashable zips for use on other ROMS, as I am on MIUI. FLASH AT YOUR OWN PERIL. I also cannot guide you through the process, but XDA is a font of info on the subject. As usual, I HIGHLY suggest you Nandroid your shiza before flashing stuff. I left the downloads for non-MIUI versions named individually so you can verify which version you've downloaded - you should rename the file "bootanimation.zip" or whatever is appropriate to your ROM before flashing or pushing. Check your phone's thread for details.
If you like what I have done and would like to show your gratitude, Leo is pretty hungry...

Edit - ah ha! I see you are maybe on the Optimus V from your sig. That is a different screen size!!! I will edit them for that screen size and post back with updates. As I read on the page linked in the first post, resizing an MTZ for MIUI is fine, but for flashable zips it will not work.
All versions for alt ROMs edited for 320x480 screen size in addition to 480x800

What works:
- Everything that works in tejasdj12's CM7 Build Three
What doesn't:
- ???
Why it's different than other MIUIs:
All MIUI ROMs available on any device contain hdpi graphics while our phone has mdpi ones. Before our phone had to resize graphics to mdpi in real time causing stuttering and lack of ram. Now it's over. I've managed to resize thousands of png and .9.png to mdpi resolution, which means that MIUI is running flawlessly on our poor device. First boot may not be as fast as it should be, but after setting everything up in CM Settings and all other stuff and reboot it works much much better than other MIUI ROMs available.
I want to port it to my device. What should i do?
Port as usual and add my paypal donation email and notice about who resized all of those graphics (me) to your topic. Also add a link to this topic and send me PM so i could include it here in section "Other devices".
Note:
I do not give you permission to make any softmods or your own version of my ROM on GT540.
Download
MDPI Lockscreens
Themes fix:
Code:
Create data/system/theme folder to make themes work
Rom i've ported and resized
Resources to Port
Code:
1. Download resources and find working CM7 rom for your device
2. Open up a rom zip and remove: app, fonts, framework and media
3. Copy over package content to your system and flash it.
4. Boot it up and see if it works.
Other Devices:
HTC Wildfire S
Orange Boston
Samsung Galaxy Ace
Samsung Galaxy Gio
LG Optimus V
I'm not responsible for stuff found on other devices section of this topic. Those aren't only xda links, but some other i've recieved from devs. Use at your own risk, if you'll brick your device with someone else's stuff, then it's not my fault.
Have fun
Is the images from the rom? it seems that the launcher has some graphic bug? folder icon is to big and page indicator is a little bit lower than normal? Did you fix status bar issue when apply theme with transparent status bar?
Launcher is a bit messed up (don't use folders and you'll live with it), i didn't check themes. It wasn't a goal for ROM. Goal was to port all the apps to mdpi resolution and it's done.
can some one give me a link for a good porting guide
Wont be surprised if some one kangs this...
Well, one of two frameworks still needs resizing, so i don't think it's a good idea.. Still work in progress though. I don't know how to recompile working framework-miui-res ;-)

maybe this might help ?
http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/recompiling-miui-apks.16082/
Did what was said in there, and i've got apk to recompile. but after replacing ROM goes into bootloop
http://pastebin.com/JMxy7YWN
Maybe somebody with better experience can take a look.
Try to compilate new framework-miui-res, extract it, then extract orginal framework-miui-res i some folder and copy moded staff from new framework-miui-res over old one. You need to copy resources.arsc to. After that selec all files from folder, add to arhive with 7zip, compresion store, format zip. Now just replace extension to apk and try to flash. It should work.
So rom is zipalignig on boot? So i guess you already tried without tweaks and mods?
Not a single FC yet. (Just when it loads system for the first time)
IT runs flawless in my phone, it's really awesome, great job (despite the bugs with the statusbar and the widgets)
I got just 1 question, if I install my applications like Gmail, Maps, etc- The icons will be MDPI or HDPI?
bataya, that's the way i was doing those apps all the time.
-Grift-, yes. I said it's using LAGBUSTER script for MIUI. Found on MIUIPOLSKA forums.
Ziore, phone is using mdpi by default and google apps have mdpi graphics. It should use mdpi.
@Edit: Miui framework is a real pain in the ass.. I was trying to make working mdpi version for a few hours and still no results... It's compiling without errors, but it causes bootloop. Today i've managed to do a "temp-fix" for statusbar. It's black for now..
Update.
01.07.12:
- Changed statusbar bg to black (tempopary)
- Resized media/theme/default (default MIUI theme)
- Replaced MIUI Gallery with Quickpic

bugs that I found so far:
Usb Storage not working, if I enable it, phone reboots.
Titanium backup not restoring anything.

Anyway, i've got a question for ya guys. Do you want Vexillum Project as a default theme in next release? MDPI of course ;-)

And about Vexillum, if you gonna put it put the Dark/Orange one too, it's awesome!
Vexillum Project merged with ROM apps:

Install using recovery. Theme needs testing though.. There was so many files to mess with that i don't know if i made a mistake somewhere. If everything will be fine, it'll get into next ROM release
Can I move to this rom from Tejas build three w/o formatting my datas? Thanks

Why use Video instead of set of pics?
Ans.
1. It will take less space in /system.
2. This can play the animation with steady fps doesn't matter the power of cpu. (Old bootanimations slow down the animation some times if cpu is not able to handle the animation)
3. At the End we can put any awesome video we like as bootanimation . f*ck yeah!
Requirements :
1. Rooted Phone
2. Android 4.4.x or 5.0.x(still need testing)
Procedure :
1(a). Download this bootanimation file for kitkat .
Code:
[URL="http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/26992022/file.html
"]Zippyshare[/URL]

[URL="https://www.dropbox.com/s/0t7lpyrsfys5t1o/bootanimation?dl=0"]Dropbox (Thanks to danielbe)[/URL]
1(b). Download this bootanimation file for lollipop
Code:
[URL="http://goo.gl/CFPYAZ"]Google Drive (thanks to LuanTeles)[/URL]
2. Replace it with your bootanimation file from /system/bin.
3. Set 755(octal) permission (i.e rwx-rx-rx) to bootanimation file.
4. Download attached bootanimation.zip and modify it with your mp4 videos
Code:
[B]Notice :[/B] Below attached bootanimation.zip is extracted from Moto E device.
It contains 2 mp4 files inside instead of 2 folder full with pics.
One mp4 is for main bootanimation and second mp4 video is for looping.
After using this method old type bootanimation may not work so make backup of your phone's bootanimation file and bootanimation zip.
5. At last push the modified bootanimation.zip in /system/media and overwrite and set 644(octal) permission (i.e rw-r-r) permission.

You did everything correctly? like replacing the bootanimation file in /system/bin
The new bootanimation file is 25.27 KB (25872 Bytes) in size.
Check if it is properly replaced
and did you set the permission properly?
And how you know it didnt worked i mean what was the result?

Everything was replaced that needed to be replaced and permissions were set. But no video boot animation..or any boot animation at all. All I get is a blank screen while Android loads up.
I'm getting a different size for the bootanimation file. I've downloaded it again and it's definitely 37.4 KB, not 25.27....

Easy enough to do..
Downloaded the new file, stuck into the flashable zip I made, flashed and....now my Sony phone is advertising Motorola! Very nice! :highfive:
There's about a second of delay before the video loads and starts playing but that may have been my imagination. Hardly an issue anyway.
Now I just need to find a suitable video I can use. Hmm....
My flashable zip is attached. It uses the Universal Flashing Tool, so it makes a flashable backup file of the files it replaces. However, the UFT doesn't work on every rom...
So I've attached a 'standard' flashable zip as well.
I've made a folder on my Mediafire account with some flashable zips for this. Have a look at my post later in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56960679&postcount=91
So it worked . Glad to know. Thanks to inform my mistake
And please share your bootanimations you made here too. I will also want to try your bootanimations

Works on Sony z ultra. Thanks. May i share your post in the zu thread?
Cool stuff.
Thanks.
binary crashes with SIGILL on armv6 device with cm11 (lg optimus V,)
(as expected, hardly anything is compiled for armeabi anymore intead of armeabiv7a) but it was worth a try.
SIGSEV on icecream sandwich (htc evo v, armv7)
works great on cm11 (liquid smooth) on the same htc evo v though.
Thanks for sharing!
Does not work on HTC M7 Lollipop CM12. Can you make a special "bootanimation" file for lp?
Actually mine has a few seconds before it comes up. I did the droid ome and all i got was the second mp4 video amd did not see the first mp4. Any idea? I also noticed that earlier as well. Any ideas? Sony xperia z ultra.

goood! anyway sorry if OT, does this gonna work with ZE551ML?

But 551ml rom work on 550ml if dpi is changed...
I don't have 551ml for test.

yep thats why I asked.. who knows maybe its usable on ze551ml by changing it too 403dpi.. btw thank you..
Ok, removed more stuff from rom as I only use for voip, down to 517Mb. Flashed on ZE551 with Project T Kernel v43, everything working great so far! Only difference I see is smaller bootlogo.
Added to index, thanks for your work!
Screen resolution still 1920x1080. I was looking for a rom with 1280x720 to increase performance and battery especially that I can't tell the difference with 720p and 1080p movies on a 5.5'' screen.
EDIT: Change resolution to 720P @Chinaphonearena post #2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/tip-adjusting-dpi-root-t3098690
Little guide to deodex x86 rom +-30min
Used this tool (thanks to joeldroid):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../script-app-joeldroid-lollipop-batch-t2980857
This tool don't work on x86 rom, only arm rom.
For use it on x86 rom:
Extract all system folder
Rename folder "x86" in framework to "arm".
Rename all folders "x86" in app and priv-app contain odex files to "arm".
Don't modify folder "x86" in "priv-app/InputDevices/" this folder don't have any apk
Use joeldroid tool and your system folder is deodexed and zipaligned.
I contacted joeldroid whether he could adapt its software for x86 rom. I have no answer yet.
if you have a simpler and quicker solution, I'm interested for next time.
Edit: solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61950312
Good stuff!!
I just wanna know, does In-App Purchases working in this ROM?
Because as far as I'm concerned, the In-App Purchases are not working for every apps and games in stock ROM..
For me it work... But it work too on stock on my 550ml.

Ok.. That is weird.. Why is this happening to me only..
Wait.. Just want to confirm.. Can you access SwiftKey Store (to buy the themes)?
Can you 'buy' Heroes from games like Kingdom Rush?
Or.. Can you 'buy' premium version of Ampere app?
The thing is the system complaining that my device has the In-App Purchases disabled, which in my case
they are not. SwiftKey Store complaining that Google Play Services is out-of-date but it is the latest version. Apps or games like Kingdom Rush didn't have the option to buy the hero, and if I click on the 'buy' button, the popup for the IAP is not coming up. Same goes to Ampere, and game like Alien Creeps keep saying the IAP for my device is disabled.
I already e-mailed Asus Support but they are still not being able to resolve the issue..
Ok i see your problem, in app purchase don't work.
I have this problem, but google play purchases work fine.
Just modify google play by rev 5.3.6 work fine with in app purchase.
I modify my rom and upload it in 24h

I've flashed your ROM.. The IAP works just fine, so thank you very much.. I don't really get what is the cause for the issue, but all I can tell you is
when I'm still on stock ROM, I've root it using temporary CWM method. I think maybe something in the procedure have disabled some important components.. I don't know..
Keep up the good works bro. I hope you'll still support this ROM after version 5.1 or 5.1.1 released. :good:
By the way can you provide a flashable Audio Wizard?
Because without it, even after I installed the Viper4Android, the audio is still lacking some details, and pumping bass..
Ok, i see for audio wizard when i have the time
Edit: Disregard. I forgot that I added Audio Wizard back in. I think I do still have the zip on my Google Drive.
Try this:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5lcyaSqESdiNFlZa0tjNy1VQW8/view?usp=docslist_api
If you want use this zip Harfainx, this is your zip with audiowizard and audiowizardview
Thanks for your work
Added (in upload) all apk and framework deoxed on my drive.
2-3 need little update (not deodexed in process). Little update for tomorrow when i have the time.
If anyone want to create a zip with apk, just need put directly apk in system/app or system/priv-app without other folder in harfainx zip. (Work fine tested).
Sorry for my bad english ^^
Edit: all apk are deodexed in google drive

• Android 5.0 Warning :: If you're running a 5.0/5.0.1 ROM, bootanimations longer than 30 frames will cause you to bootloop because of the memory bug in Lollipop. But you can TRY and DOWNLOAD this bootanimation as it works smoothly in lollipop ROMs. •
• Samsung Warning : If you're running a Touchwiz based ROM none of these bootanimtions will work for you. Samsung uses their own bootanimation format and your phone will bootloop if you install one of these. •
• Skinned ROMs Warning : If you're using a custom skinned ROM like Sense/Blur/LG/ etc. there's a high chance you might bootloop. Make a nandroid backup before proceeding. •

Lamborghini logo fits in the screen perfectly. The above screenshots are just for demo purpose. You have to try this in your phone before to see how it looks.
Anyway this boot animation is in 720x1280 resolution with 30fps. It's smooth and the image quality is fine. Try this and see yourself.

Yes. I'm creating this boot animation again and soon I will test it on my zenfone 5 device with RR 5.8.2 ROM.
After the successful results, I will update this thread. Stay tuned.
The bootanimation is working fine without any lag in previous builds of Resurrection Remix v5.8.2/Lineage OS 14.1 ROM.
In this new builds, this bootanimation is bit laggy. Still I'm looking for the solution why it is bit laggy in new builds of ResurrectionRemix v5.8.2/Lineage OS 14.1 ROMS.
All new Call_of_Duty edition bootanimation is released.
Check it out.
