Hello forum Gurus.
I am a noob to this so please forgive me if I place this question in the wrong place.
Here are my phone specs
Model Numer: sm-g900a
Adnroid version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-964333 Fri Mar 14
Build Numer: g900aucu1ance
Phone status: Rooted
I have been searching for a volume boost mod for 5.0 but have had no luck. My hearing really sucks and I would like to upgrade kitkat.
It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction
Thank you in advance

I used this
https://mega.nz/#!5ZNjyAyD!Utc5BnNw5EvFrUAyYvGZcFyh5wVAutBDAssGYoZtfCs
When i was on 4.4.2. Not sure if it is the same on 5.0. This will also make your front speaker play sounds and what not. Kinda like surround sound. Just download, using root explorer go to system, etc, click the "RW" in the top right so that it shows "RO", scroll down to mixerpath.xml and rename it mixerpath.xml.bak then place the new mixerpath.xml there, then click the "RO" so that it shows "RW" again. That's it. Reboot and enjoy. If you don't like it then just delete that file and rename the mixerpath.xml.bak back to mixerpath.xml
Don't forget to fix permissions rwrr

Thank you for the reply,
I see on the link provided that there are multiple distros. I am unsure which to download. Can you provide some guidance.
Thanks

Open it with either mega or Internet and then hit download. There is only one file in that link. You may need to download mega from the play store (it's free).

When I open the link provided and select the "mixer_paths.xml" file for download a drop down list presents itself with at least 15 different linux distro's. That is where the confusion is. I am not sure which one is correct.
Thanks Again

Thanks dirtydodge for the file!
But before I go installing Lollipop I was hoping that someone had tried this xml file on 5.0. Just trying to avoid a downgrade.

I don't know if anyone has tried it. If you upgrade to lollipop i can send you my xml that i use on lolipop and it works good. It's not the surround sound sound one where it plays out of the ear phone but but it is a lot louder than stock. Just let me know. Shoot me a pm when your ready.
mixer_paths.xml works great on 5.0!!!!
Thank you very much

Hi all,
Here's a nandroid backup of Stock 2.3.4 (GRJ22) rooted from my GT-I9020T. Just extract the zip and place the folder that's inside the zip into the /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder on your phone. Then reboot your phone into recovery and restore the backup that says "Stock_2.3.4_rooted"
I've only tested this on my phone but hopefully it should work for you. You may want to install Busybox after.
NOTE: the zip that you download contains another folder within it so when you extract it, make sure you use the folder inside and not the actual extracted folder.
DOWNLOAD:

MIRROR:

Thanks to ChainsDD for superuser access and Google for Android
Finally, thanks a lot.
FYI, restoring boot.img and system.img is just okay.
thx, someone tested this with ther european SLCD I9023 version?

With Nexus S ROMs, do they differentiate between i9020T and i9020A? I have a i9020A.
I can't download from mediafile it said can't access from server can someone make mirror to the other web.
thank you.

Firstly, congratulations to geohot!! Along with the rest of you, I've been waiting so long for this and I'm overjoyed at this breakthrough.
I have a problem however - I bricked my phone about a month ago and I need the pit file to revive it. Now that root has been achieved, it should be possible to get the pit. So now I'm humbly asking for anyone who can get the G900A pit file to please share it with me.
Many thanks.
Long live geohot and XDA!!!!

Hi, and thanks for asking! OTA update downloads should go to the system/cache folder. Once the update is downloaded, can you check using a file explorer and copy the file?

You may not see it with your regular file browser because the phone is not rooted. However an app called "Root browser" (it's free in the Market) will get you through most files (you do not need to be rooted for it to work, though it becomes more powerful if you are). I use that frequently without root access.
I'm not noticing a difference with anything on this update.

Okay thank you for your efforts. It seems that those of us which are not in the US or on the ATT operator will have to wait for the official firmware to be upoaded somewhere.

Here is a flashable zip of the new update for the the LG V10 T-Mobile H901. All you have to do is flash this zip in TWRP. You can also flash the 28.2 superuser too if you wish to have root and there will be a link for going back to MM just in chase you mess something up. Just click the links the 1. Link will be the 7.0 update zip 2. Link will be the 28.2 superuser zip 3. Link will be the MM zip if you mess any thing up.
I can confirm that this works because I have done it on my LG V10 H901 T-Mobile.

If i have to root it first then please provide me the link to root my V10 i'll be very glad.
Thanks in advance.
(Sorry for my bad English).
@popwar lol -- Take a look at the updater-script.
It is LG's and T-Mobile's software, so I don't care, but it is still kind of cheesy to directly copy someone else's work and claim it as your own.

@xXCoolGuYXx Well, it is a miracle then. One of us should play the lottery. Do you know what the chances are of two people creating a file that has the exact same sha1 hash when the file contents are variable? I don't either, but it is astronomical.
The ui_print lines were not something I copy / pasted. I made those up when I made the file. So again, the chances of you picking the EXACT verbiage and punctuation are -- well -- almost non-existent.
It is incredibly simple to dump a KDZ and make a flashable zip, even so, the fact that you are claiming that you did -- when you so obviously didn't is hilarious.

When someone asks you "Did you take this from X" and you reply "No" you are stating one of two things. 1) You did the work yourself or 2) You stole the work from someone else other than X.
You pick whichever one you prefer. In EITHER case I'll stick with the original dev and not the guy who got caught plagiarizing someone else's work.
As recently as February (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3281170) you were having problems figuring out how to properly edit the build.prop file so not someone other people should be depending on for their entire phone rom.

Perhaps you'd have better luck if you looked in the right place "dude". This rom is for the H901 which is the T-mobile version. It belongs in the T-mobile V10 subforum along with all the other roms including the one this is based off of.
As an FYI, XDA rules say if you are posting a rom you DID NOT CREATE it belongs in the GENERAL portion of the forum. Android development is for posts by the creators which is why everyone is claiming you stole it. Help. Don't Help. The "xda family" will survive.
