App to SD? - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to move some apps to my SD on my rooted Nook HD but with all the app moving tools I just get errors like the path is the same as internal storage blah blah blah. Can anyone help with this?

You say you are rooted, but that can mean many things. Are you running rooted stock or are you running a version of cm?

What version?
Sent from my SM-T707V using XDA Premium HD app

Wow.. I feel stupid. I don't know what version, except that when I turn on the Nook, I get Cyanoboot screen.. I really should pay more attention to these things... ?

Maybe I'm using rooted stock.. All I did was flash some files from your thread.. I feel really dumb.
EDIT: I went into my downloads folder and found the file l flashed. It was your HD/HD+ universal root.

Newbie at rooting nook

Hi. I got a nook last week and I've been wondering how to root it. How can I install cm7? Or is there any other "room" like for my Droid incredible (skyraider, cm7, unrevoked, etc). How do I double booted? Any guide for noons?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Cm7 is the only rom worth installing. Check out this thread on how to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227

Thanks I will try it tonight. Just one question my nook had a blue dot in the box, but in space available says 1gb, is it alright?

Thanks alot! works perfectly. Also just boot into CWM and go to flash from sd card, navigate to downloads and install.
Yes I do believe eve stock downloads to internal SD by default you have to change it here to help buddy
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
Sorry but i dont get it. I downloaded straight to phone and tried to move from phone memory to sdcard-external to flash but none of the downloads wants to move to the sdcard what am i doing wrong?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
You don't need to really move anything any where where ever you downloaded it you just navigate to that directory using volume keys and you select with power
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
What browser are you using /
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
Well im using xscope..
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Flashed and.... I don't see anything new or different. How do you use the libs?
Dude just flash this as you are flashing a rom you have done that before right
Sent from my XT875 using xda premium
My question wasn't how to flash. I flashed it and nothing is different or new. I see it added some .lib and .bin files but they aren't affecting anything.
Well i finally did it..and i can notice a little change but nothing TOO drastic. Someone should get these files and make a mini app of it so that wen downloaded there is an app to turn this function on so we can hear the difference...wish i was a developer..i have good ideas.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Sorry tuck should have quotes was talking other poster not you o know you know how to flash lol...

@outsider we have a similar program built for samsung devices don't remember the name but I think the issue for us is we can't make kerals or really truly over clock I believe they are related some how.
Sent from my XT875 using XDA App
I know the app its voodoo control plus i used to have droid charge lol
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
yeah ok could remember the name and it's built into the kernal builds as well.. but with us its different if you want that effect go to a rezound with beats audio soundcards built in.. or if your running ics.. there is a equilizer in the music app but not sure about g.b.
Hi!
Is this ok for Galaxy S with ICS??

umm... what forums are you in DROID BIONIC!!! so my guess is probably the bionic you should link this to the galaxy s forums and test it out if you want... make a backup and your good..

[Q] Where to get stock launcher APK???

I really like the launcher APK used in the HD/HD+. Where could I get it? Or, could somebody get it for me? I don't have a nook HD, but want to use it's launcher. Thanks in advance.

Trebuchet.apk under /system/app
Not sure it works by just copying it though...

You are trying to open the nandroid backup file? Just rename the .tar.a to .tar and you can open with winrar or some other archive program.

It is probably because the home.apk for the HD/HD+ is ics and stock Nook Color is froyo. If you modify the androidmanifest.xml file in the apk to change the expected version of android, it might install. But that does not guarantee it will run.

Thank you leapinlar. You are the most helpful person in the nook community on XDA.

The line that says minSDKversion. And I don't remember what version froyo is. Look at your other apps. And before you ask, you have to decompile and recompile the apk before you can edit it. Use APK-Multi-Tool. Search web for it.

Thank you again. By the way. I'm on CM7.2 (2.3.7 gingerbread) not froyo.

You are wanting to run the stock launcher on CM. Good luck.
Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10 on Hybrid SD
Ugh. I've been looking at APK multi-tool confused::sly: ) and I'm thinking that I'm both too nooby and busy to do this. I'm scared I'll break something or have to stop in the middle of a process. I know this is asking a lot, but can you recompile this APK to work with gingerbread for me?

Upgrade to lollipop?

So since android is open source, would it be legal to upgrade a Nook HD to lollipop, and if so, how could I?

It is legal but voids any warranty you may have with B&N. There are lots of threads in the development forum telling you how to do it. If you want to go to Kit Kat or lower go to the dummies thread linked in my signature.

Thanks. Can you give me a suggestion for a version of android to use? I like the older versions more, but I fear it won't be compatible with newer apps.

I always recommend cm10.1.3. It is fast and stable. Not sure if it supports apps2sd, you'll just have to try it. Follow the dummies thread linked in my signature to install it.

Latest Lolipop for Ovation dated 29.08.2015 from DMaces runs pretty well also. Highly recommended. You can find it in the developer section of this forum.
Hi all,
I'm running cm12, lollipop 5.1.1, on a nook HD+, and I can't get access to a USB Drive. I installed the unofficial August 3rd build. I'm using the standard USB power cord with a female to female USB adapter. I have run several USB host apps to try to resolve the problem with no luck. I get a message that I need and s3c host adapter driver. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?
Thank you,

Not sure I can from the device and software I am currently using, but look in the development folder for cm12.1 by Amaces. Has both ovation and hummingbird ROMs and kernels.
See if the following link works.

Apps2sd is supported under cm10.1.3. I recently uninstalled cm 11 because of constant instability and installed 10.1.3 under your advice. :good: I haven't had any mishaps yet.
The Nook's (HD/HD+) hardware prevents it from using any version above cm 10.1.3 without performance issues. But overall, a fantastic value when rooted correctly.

Anyone know how to install fenix? (CmRom)

I'm trying to install fenix I've tried using market helper but it says device incompatable
