I just can't wait until it is finally announced, these rumours are like a rollercoaster. Apparently the S6 Edge Plus has the 3000mAh battery, which makes me wonder if the Note 5 will use the same when it has a larger display. Unpacked cannot come soon enough.
So, samsung discriminates its worldwide customers over those living in Asia...

My Note edge broke down and got money from insurance.
Now, I'm wondering whether to buy note edge again or to buy note 5.
Any owner note 5 used note edge before ?
Is it worth to change Note Edge for Note 5?
To me Note 5 is a regression in terms of features that power users value. It has got a much better screen (have done a side by side comparison), more powerful CPU and an extra gig of ram and touch type finger print sensor but in turn it looses wired MHL TV out, MicroSD card, removable battery among others. I do not know how much you value these features but if I could go back in time I would leave Note 5 altogether and buy something else.

I upgraded from the Note Edge to the Note 5 and do not regret the decision. I did go with the 64 gb model to ensure I have enough space. Battery life has been MUCH better on the Note 5 and I am in love with the upgraded camera. I was sold with how quickly I can access the camera. I also like the size and feel of the Note 5 much better. The Note Edge was always a bit awkward for me with the curved edge on the one side. I never really got much added benefit from the edge screen, so I have not missed it. I never used the IR port and never changed batteries on the Note Edge. At the end of the day, it became a no-brainer for me and I am so happy with the Note 5. I think it really comes down to how important are the SD slot, removeable battery, IR port, and edge screen. I am even more happy with the Note 5 than I expected to be. Not sure if that helps.

I don't really think it is, truthfully. If you have the money to buy a new device why not go for the newer device, sure but to actually upgrade from a normal working edge it doesn't offer enough. It's the same screen as the Note 4/edge, albeit a little brighter, both are 515 ppi i believe. The camera is the same the only difference is the aperature size lets in a little more light for better exposure, however this is not always noticeable as you can see for yourself in reviews by credible reviewers such as android authority and many others on youtube. If you prefer expandable memory, removable battery and the curved screen aspect definitely stay with the note edge, if you MUST have the faster cpu and extra ram for VERY HEAVY multitasking and absolutely MUST HAVE the newest handset then get the Note 5.
Hi all :victory:
Samsung announced today their new beast the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. What do you think about this new device ? Are you considering to buy it ? Upgrade from your current device ? Tell us :good:
i just received an email from samsung that i can preorder today, they said everyone else preorder start tomorrow.
hopefully i get it sooner than everyone.
i preordered Verzion version since i'm with Verizon prepaid.
i trade in my Note8 for 400$. that' a fair price, if you sell it yourself, you have to pay swappa fee, paypal fee, and shipping.
reason i want note9.
1. need something new to play with. haha
2. cpu and graphic is faster than note8
3. 128gb storage compare to 64gb on note8, but do i need it? i only used 30gb on my note8
4. bluetooth spen, hopefully i able to use it for selfie.
5. hopefully we can Quick Charge 4. qualcomm listed QC4.0, charge 15 minutes get 50% battery life !
I'm buying it for sure. Till the official announcement, I wasn't considering it based on strong rumors of still being equipped with QC 2.0 and my personal taste on the not-so-usefulness of the S-Pen. But then, I made my mind to get it ASAP due to,
1. 4000 mAh battery.(little disappointing that it's still QC 2.0 only). I'm not so happy with the S9+'s batterylife.
2. S-Pen is pretty "dope" this time around- it's a remote controller for the camera, it's a pen, it can control streaming services from 30 feet away, can control apps, it's customizable, gets charged under 1 minute using supercapacitors inside....
3. AI integration on camera.
4. Water-carbon cooling system to prevent overheating and AI based performance adjuster.
5. Plenty of of RAM and flash Storage.
....
**Pixel 3 xl was in my mind but then after trustworthy leaks showing its design, I felt "NO". , it should be the Note 9 worth taking.
Was going to preorder it, but the have only the blue one, and purple one available only, wanted the black one. Also you get a free AKG wireless noise canceling headphones.

Qualcomm SD 845 chipset supports QC 4.0 but Samsung capped it at QC 2.0. So, do not hope
I was excited for this phone but after reading it still only comes with Android 8.0 was enough for me to say PASS.

What set features 8.1 has over 8.0 since that being the only reason you're not getting it?

Samsung experience have all features you need, you get even more than what Android P users are getting and will ever get even in Android 12 i think
In italy, we have to rent the 512gb/8gb ram for 45€ per month 24 months long with a first payment of 99€.
Waiting for firsts reviews to check battery.

To me, if I am going to pay upwards of $1000 for a phone then it should be Flagship. To me that means the most up to date hardware and software. At least Android 8.1 would be acceptable but 8.0 just means that put a nice paint job on an old house.
I actually didnt want to get it, but my Note 5 is getting older and battery is not holding a long charge.
Plus Tmo can give me $500 for this old phone. I think I am going to pull the trigger.
Likely ill get it, not thrilled with the color choices...copper is the only one Id consider but i def need to see it in person.

I've found the more memory I have available, the more I'll use so 128 Gb may suit you well. Quick Charge is 2.0 for the Note 9 which is a bit disappointing but not a deal killer. I turned down Samsung's $400 trade in offer and sold my S8+ for a $100 more on a local Craigslist post., no fees or shipping required. Personally I feel the S9 Plus makes more sense unless you really use S Pen. The devices are very similar in hardware besides the bigger battery on Note 9, display size is very close but the big difference is price. New Note 9 - $1,000, New S9 Plus (128 Gb) - $664 for the device on ebay.
Just pre-ordered unlocked 128 gb from Samsung. Bought a lg g6 on swappa for $160 to get the $300 trade in. I'm ready!
I pre ordered mine. Blue with 8 gigs and the 512 memory. I bought an S7 active on eBay for a $100 and will trade it in for $300. Just sold note 8 for over $500. Bought Whitestone Dome glass and S View case. Hurry up August 24th!!

I'm doing something similar! Buying the S7 for $130(ish) and trading in for $500 through T-mobile! Where did you snag one for only $100?? I can't seem to beat $130.
I'm getting the $999 Note9 (Blue). Can't wait! I adore my Note 8 and the only thing that I wish was better was the battery life, so this phone should be PERFECT!
Nice pre-order deal here in Australia, on samsung’s site: 512GB model for the price of the 128 GB model, A$1499.
And samsung will give me a very good trade in of A$785 for my 10 months old pixel 2 XL. That’s about what I could get on ebay, but without the hassle.
Ordered!

Bought one with "shadows” . There are even cheaper ones with the green line running down the screen.
My seller is out of NY
Bought 128gb Blue, ugh I wanted black. Got the unlocked version 400 dollars off thanks to an S8 sitting in a drawer. Wife gets to dump her LG V20 and get my Note 8 and I get the 9 for 640 bucks with tax. Win win.
Got mine ordered last night!
I've seen so many different rumors about prices and models. Does anyone have a break down of the rumored price in US dollars? Will they really price the Galaxy S10 at over $900? If so it may be time for me to jump to the Pixel 3 if Google drops the price again.
Latest guestimates from Forbes
Samsung Galaxy S10 will start at $799 and it goes up to high end $1499.:cyclops:

Please do't say that, I really want this but 800? I was hoping around the 749 for the S10.
One price rumor puts the budget Galaxy S10 Lite model at $650-$750 (roughly £500-£585 / AU$900-AU$1,040), while another rumor has the Samsung Galaxy S10 price rise to £799 which will likely be around $779 (around AU$1,400) for the 128GB variant and £999 for 512GB of storage..............-'GOOGLE ANSWER'.
Even samsung has raised their price like Apple.

Maybe, you can go with lite version of S10 series that is S10E. Not that much difference in specs between S10 and S10E.

Who else signed up for the pre-order trade-in of $550 (for S9s)? Was expecting it to be only $350-400 like last year.

This makes sure that S10 will be more expensive than the previous versions of samsung galaxy S series.
I was shocked when I saw the $550 I have an S9 Plus and I know back when the Note 9 came out I saw where they were giving $600. I paid $849 for my 9 plus after getting $400 for my Note 8 and I got a $450 BB gift card through my work for something so I own my 9 Plus now it's unlocked and my husband paid $650 for his Note 8 after we had gotten $300 for our 7 Edges. I wasn't into the Note and got the 9 plus but now I want the 10 plus. I have been saving too so I can buy my 10 plus out right too. I reserved us a spot and can't wait to see the S10 plus. But over at slick deals lots of people complaining how they got screwed with trade ins I hope this isn't the case this time around. We had no problems when we traded in our 7 Edges and got the full $300 so I am hoping we get the full $550 our phones are in perfect condition. I had just called the day before this $550 deal came out to this kiosk that bought back my Note 8 for $400 and they said like 245 for the Note and 3 something for my 9 plus. I just hope the 10 plus 128 version is under a 1000 if my 9 plus sold for 849 maybe 949 for this one I'll take it.

No. He has no proof either though.
Funny how you think Google will drop the price for the next Pixels, even the Mi 9 is now over $500 that should tell you how the other flagships will be. Personally, waiting for the Pocophone F2 that's the only SD855 phone that will be below $500.
I'm currently needing to upgrade from an S7 and am debating whether it's worth my time to try and eek out another month until the Note 10 is announced to see whether the s10 price will drop any further. Currently a VZW s10/s10+ can be found for $600/$700 respectively (through Samsung, Best Buy) with a DPP; I'm wondering if the price would come down any further next month when the Note 10 is announced/released...
Does anyone remember whether the s9 saw a price drop when the Note 9 was released? I haven't been able to find anything definitive regarding price drops on Google from around that time (Aug 2018).
Any info is appreciated.
I would wait and see but I kind of doubt it will drop much in price. Note 10 will start at $1200 so keeping the s10+ at $999 seems about right.
