OF4 Update - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

I updated to OF4 from OF3 via http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...920aucu2aof3-to-of4-flashfire-update-t3181135
However I deleted some system files on OF4, Is there a full rom, not just an update to flash to get back to OF4 stock and rooted.

Not that I've seen. I think your only option is to Odin back to stock here...

Then reroot, and perform the incremental upgrades. It seems that there is little to no development and support for us at this time.
Or flash one of the prerooted older ROMS in the development section, then upgrade.

Question abt rooting

Hi guys,
For the first time I wanna root my Note and would like to do it cleanly. I would like to root my Note, use custom ROMs and be able in the future to come back to a stock ROM which is upgradable via KIES.
My first question is to know if the process of downgrading to an older firmware could corrupt the EFS folder. (using PC odin)
2. Will it wipe my phone? In sammobile they don't specify if the older ROMs are wipe or non-wipe.
Thx

1- it shouldnt do, i have downgraded using pc odin without an issue
2 - get a non wipe rom fromthe list in the sticky in the dev section
Thx for your reply, I would also like to know:
1. If after rooting the older rom my phone will be upgradable via (recognised by) KIES.
2. If the answer of the question is YES, then what kind of back up should I do in order to be able get my phone at that "state" later on, after having tried other custom ROMs.
I'm trying to be more cautious because with my older i9000, I couldn't get it recognised by KIES after flashing different custom ROMs. My EFS folder was corrupted (empty indeed) and there was unfortunately no way back in my knowledge...

it might be but if you update via kies you will lose root
Could somebody else give me a more convincing answer?

Yes you can root your Device. Here
Just make sure you are in rootable ROM, in case if you are not in rootable ROM then u have to downgrade ROM via PC Odin.
Download rootable Stock ROM from Here
In the above Dr. Ketan's Thread he mentioned the rootable and non rootable ROMs
after Downgrading and installing CWM+Root flash any Custom ROM
You can get back to Stock ROM again without worries. Just Flash Stock ROM which is available for your country via PC Odin. (You get warranty too)
If you do everything correctly, then nothing goes wrong.
They are many ROMs available in above thread and Dr.Ketan marked some ROMs as Wipe or Non Wipe.
I've downgraded using this KL3 firmware (india)
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/137391605/31899b9/N7000XXKL3_N7000ODDKL1_INU.zip.html
I don't know why but my phone is no longer upgradable by KIES. It shows "Your device does not support software upgrading via KIES"
Anyway, next step is rooting
Better news, after the downgrade, I rooted the phone using this method:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJjh6gi0Spw
It rooted my phone without any problem.
After, I did a complete backup using Titanium Backup then backed up my EFS Folder using the "root explorer" app (copy and paste the folder) and via the desktop app "ESF Pro" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
After that I upgraded to my original firmware LB1 using Mobile Odin Pro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997&highlight=root
ROM: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/147259547/5483373/N7000XXLB1_N7000OXALB1_DBT.zip.html which is a non-wipe ROM.
I'm so glad that now the phone is upgradable via KIES, it shows that I've got the latest firmware.
If you upgrade via kies, you'll lose root. so in essence, once you're rooted, whatever kies says doesn't really matter, as you'll most likely always be using mobile odin or cwm from that point onward, assuming you want to keep root of course.

I cannot agree more with this...Don't bother with Kies now that you're rooted. Why wait for OTA/Kies updates when you can get any new Rom here at XDA a day or two after it is released?
Removing Kies scheisse from zips is the first thing I do before flashing new Roms. Needless to say, it's been removed from my PC ages ago, and replaced by Sammy USB drivers for transferring files etc.
In a word, forget Kies, you're in better hands here at XDA.

But if you update it with kies/OTA, you will lose Root. So update using CWM/Mobile odin only.

Exactly.
Even it appears on XDA before OTA, as usually OTA appears few days later to Kies release.
I understand all you're talking abt. I would probably not need to update my phone via KIES anhmore. But it could prove to be important when I want to sell the phone. I would like the new owner to be able to get updates via KIES or OTA.
By the way, after the root I have frozen many Apps which keep my ram free now and I assume that battery life will be better. Everything seems to work fine just HD widget doesn't work, it's my favourite. It says that there is not Internet connection or something like that. Could anyone know what it's about and how to fix it?

Did a factory reset and now HD widget works just fine.

GT-N7000_DBT_6010720 OTA update for XXLRQ

Sammobile shows this file as an OTA update for XXLRQ. But the problem is cannot flash it in any manner, PC Odin wont help and neither does advanced recovery.
Any idea guys?
are you on latest version prior to LRQ on DBT rom?
Usually updates are ota send by steps.
Also not sure but other preconditions could apply, like csc, all components same stock rom.
Just some thoughts, havent flashed an ota myself yet with mobile odin, you can also check mobile odin thread for how tos

NOOB QUESTION: When the lollipop update comes out will I be able to update using Kies

I am rooted and have TWRP recovery but am still running the stock ROM and to my knowledge have not removed any preloaded apps. Wondering if I'll be able to make the 5.0 update with kies from where I'm at now or if I'll have to flash back to stock and then update.
Should just have to Factory Reset/Wipe your phone then flash the Official NK4 with Odin .. Set up phone and Update

Question about flashing N910TUVU2DOK2 Firmware/Baseband

I'm running an N910T with Rapture 8.2. As this ROM apparently isn't under development or support any longer, I'd like to move to another ROM that is. I'd also like to update my baseband to N910TUVU2DOK2. To update the baseband, do I need to ODIN back to stock and upgrade from there, or can I simply ODIN the baseband and move forward? I believe that I'm currently on COG1, but can't tell because I'm running a backup just now.

You always need to Odin to the full firmware that matches the ROM you want to use. Please keep in mind that once you go to 5.1.1, you'll be stuck on lollipop bootloader.

Thanks! Should I ODIN to stock, or straight to the new ROM? I rooted and flashed my old note 2 gobs of times, but the note 4 I'm not that sure about.

You use Odin to put stock firmware on and to root and add TWRP. You use TWRP to flash ROM's.

Thanks! That's just what I needed.
You're very welcome

I have gone back and forth between 5.1.1, 5.0.1, and 4.4.4 roms by using odin to flash the COG2, COD6, or ANK4 firmware first, then using odin to flash autoroot and TWRP. Then use TWRP to flash the desired rom. I have no problem going from lollipop to kitkat and back. I have used the COG2 firmware for all the 5.1.1 roms, like Texxodus, Resurrection, Slim, CM12, etc. I have used COD6 for 5.0.1 like Alliance, I have used ANK4 for Firekat. I have never had a problem reverting between any of them.
Why is DOK2 different? Does it trip some kind of hardware switch, like knox? If I was on it and used odin to flash, say, the kitkat firmware, what happens? Does odin no longer work when you're on DOK? Does it crash? Does the flash appear to work but it stays on DOK? Does it flash the firmware but bootloop? Does it brick the phone? I always thought that odin flashed firmware to the lowest level so that as long as you could connect the phone to a PC and had a good firmware load, you could restore it.

Question about updating from Lollipop to Marshmallow

So I've decided to move on from the TekHD rom to maybe a newer version rom (marshmallow). However, I'm confused about the process. Would I just use Odin and flash all appropriate files to be on the latest modem and basebands for marshmallow then flash the rom I want? I'm already rooted right now, would I need to reroot during the process (I.e; flashing supersu script)?
Hope this helps
