It's kinda annoying that it plagues me on stock sony lollipop rom. I have a VPN running on the background it just suddenly close after a while by itself. This also happens on S5-G900f. But when I am on kitkat. I had no issues. Anyone has a workaround for this? as we wait for 5.1

I had this problem in 4.4 too.. U must downgrade to 4.3 build .136..For Now 4.4 have many bug and not stable..or try repair ur phone software with SONY update Service(sus)...maybe this fix it !!!
That's wrong advice.
Just uninsulated all non stock camera apps. So if you try and use 4k video or the 4.3 time bust video it will note work. Also you should clear the data in all camera apps. Downgrading and not using 4.4 is an extreme fix when you can still use 4.4 and have a working camera

I just wiped data and cache for camera app then restarted, that fixed it

The battery drain was due to bug in Play services, recent update has resolved the issue to a certain extent
If rooted then you can install wakelock Xposed module.
For keyboard lag there was an update for the keyboard few weeks back try updating and see whether it resolves the issue.
For SD card issue check this thread
No I didn't root my phone coz i dont want to void my warranty ... Is der any other sd fix for non root user??......

There you go:
Does rooting void warranty? How's anyone ever gonna know it was rooted incase the warranty is going to be needed? I doubt they analyze each phone that much.
Regarding the keyboard, sometimes it lags a bit. Especially if it has been running for 24 hours or something. I've made a Tasker profile to "reboot" my keyboard app every 8 hours to keep it responsive.

Battery drain - The battery drain is caused by Google Play Services, which is not under Sony's control.
Keyboard lag - I had this to start with. It went away after a few reboots, along with most of the other lags in the settings etc.
SD card write - Not a bug, or anything that will be fixed by Sony. External SD permissions were changed by Google for security reasons and OEMs had to implement them or risk failing the certification for Google apps. Root and use something like this app to make the external SD work the same as before.
Edit - I see this has already mostly been said. When I entered the thread it only showed me one reply, then the others showed up after I posted. Strange. ?

It's possible that OTA updates might fail, as a system file is modified. You will always be able to use PC Companion/SUS to update though.

OTA updates might fail, or they might work. It's hard to say 100% either way.
When starting an OTA update, a check is made on the system partition of your phone to see if files have been removed or modified. It depends what is checked during this process. I have no way of knowing what a future OTA update from Sony will check, so we'll have to wait and see. ?

I recently updated to Android 4.4.4 on my Xperia Z1S and from then on, every time I take a picture, my camera just freezes and I have to lock and unlock in order to get out of the freeze. I haven't been able to take a picture since that time. Oh and btw, my phone is not rooted in any way.
Is there a fix for this? Or do I have to rollback to the previous version?

You are using a rom, its called stock.
Try forcing a repair using pccompanion.
Run it, choose software update and if it says you have the latest software click on the blue "Repair your device" in the dialog box.
This will wipe your phone but will repair the phone

I haven't had any camera issues on kit kat, it's actually better for me than it was on 4.3.

Hi giys,
Is it normal to have sometimes redraws ? Especially when i leave chrome or snapchat ... I know its only 1gb RAM but well.
Im on nova tho

Are you on KitKat, or on Lollipop with the last update?
If you're running KK, some users are also having redraws, the latest update (after Lollipop) apparently fixes the problem.

Yes, it's a known problem with this device. With KitKat there's no solution without root. It will get better with lollipop. I'm running the LXB22.46.16 for the XT1064 and it's running really smooth.
Yes im on KitKat. Ok i guess i need to wait...
