Hello,
I am using the Google Messenger as my default app and I would like to customize the "outgoing message sounds". However, the app only allows one to edit the sound for incoming messages. Is there a way/trick to edit the "outgoing message sounds"? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
...in other words, if an app doesn't allow you to change notification sounds, is there a way to do that with root? Please help, it's driving me crazy.
Thank you in advace.

I'm using Facebook for Android and I seem to having a problem. I keep unchecking the Notifications box because I don't want to receive notifications, but the app continues to give me notifications. What gives?
And PLEASE don't tell me to use Flow. I tried that and had some dealbreaking problems.
Bump. Anyone? This is really bothering me.
Hi folks,
I'm using Aquamail for my yahoo email and using lightflow to push notifications to pebble for it. Unfortunately I'm getting 'x unread emails in aquamail' notifications rather than any useful information about each individual email. I read somewhere that someone was using tasker to capture notification event information from aqualmail and sending it to the pebble but I'm not sure what task/profile to set up. I have tasker and pebble tasker and have a simple task setup to phone home assigned to the middle button on the watch and it works great.
Any help appreciated
Cheers,
Mick

So strange issue. I enabled SMS for Hangouts thinking I could deal with its inability to split text messages. Turns out I can't, oops....
ANYWAYS, Typically when this is enabled you can disable it in the SMS settings under Hangouts. This seems to not be the case anymore. Trying to edit the SMS settings now takes me to the general "settings" area of the phone as if I had selected the "gear" icon in the apps list or quick settings area of the phone. has anyone else run into this issue of 4.4.2? Have you found a solution? I would appreciate any assistance.
So are you trying use the HTC messages as the default instead of hangouts?

Basically what I am looking for is something that will let me reply to messages without ever opening the app. Essentially it would open a window and a keyboard from my notification menu and let me reply from within other apps without exiting the original app to reply to the message. Anyone know of an app or something of the sort that will allow this? Thanks for the help
Download a third party sms app that has a popup reply function. When you receives a text, a little popup will appear on top of your current app and let you type your reply without exiting the current app
Textra has this feature and I loved it. I'm using hangouts currently cause I can read the whole text in the notification bar and respond when I want
Thanks guys!

There a way to have a send and receive sound while using the SMS/Message app? Just like the notification when using an iphone?
Thanks.

I used to do this on my old galaxy which was amusing to confuse colleagues. Do a search here on xda and you will find a whole host of ringtones available to download. Simply copy them files to the correct folder on your device and away you go!

thanks for the reply.. I am not looking for the sound. But I am looking to see if the feature of the send and receive notification while using the messaging app is possible.

Try Textra - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra&hl=en_GB
It makes a sound when an SMS is successfully sent, and can display a 'Sent' and 'Delivered' confirmation below each message.
