Currently using AOSP v4 (5.0) by Xancin.
I've only done 2 full charges, and it goes like this:
- 85% of the time on Wi-Fi
- 15% on 4G
- 4 Hours of Screen On Time
- Mainly using whatsapp and gmail.
Result: 38 hours of battery life.

i had 1512 rom and had shareit app . it was using %20 of battery
i recommend you delete all bloadware that you dont use. it will be work
This youtube video (noWa8OMX3u8) shows why wifi is hogging the battery.
With Androium 6.1 i'm getting a full day of usage, with great performance.
But i miss the double tap to wake and the customization of the VibeUI
How well does the new Android 6.0 Roms perform in terms of battery life?

Hi first of all I would like to thank the developers of ICS333 for this amazing ROM it's fast and very smooth I simply love it Thanks!
Now I have a SGS i9000 running ICS333 v2.0.1 and it seems when I have 3G on my battery runs out quickly, I think it only last for a couple hours I don't know if it's normal or not, but it seems weird. I saw a post in the ICS topic about batteries lasting for 2 days and I don't know if it's in standby mode or mass using internet and other apps. Because mine only lasts for about 12 hours checking GMail each half hour, sometimes browsing and checking up facebook app and listening to music while checking up the news in Flipboard and also exploring the Play Store (I had a BB before and now I bought a Android Smart phone, which is AMAZING btw lolz, so it's normal in the first days to explore this kinda stuff) I also must say that I have a Momax 17000mha.
So overall I just want to ask you If it is normal my battery last only 12 hours when exploring apps and browsing. Yourcomments are appreciated
Yes, it's definitely not unusual.
With daily use, my battery lasts 12hours only
While traveling sync off and sometimes data off, i am able to get 24hours backup on 2G
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Up to 4-5 days is possible.
When you try to use i9000 with ics333 like for example Nokia E52, just calls
and few SMS, it can last up to 4-5 days. Of course on 2G, with all synchronization
off, and no data active (only when needed). No GPS, localization disabled,
Google Maps freeze with Titanium Backup. And of course with all on, and heavy
use, I had 6h and battery was 4%
I'm running pure stock rom, no rooting, no updating, V10E just bought it less than a week ago.
This is the apps I have installed:
2G-3G toggle widget
Android live wallpapers
Aptoide
Bs Player
CamScanner
Dropbox
Chrome UPdates
Epic Citadel
Flashlight
Go Launcher EX
Go SMS pro
GPS fix deluxe
Moon+ Reader
Onavo Count
Onavo Extend
Opera MIni
QuickPic
Screen Filter
Shush! Ringer Restorer
Simple Mp3 Downloader
Thumb Keyboard
Viber
Whatsapp
Now I tried the following two things with my phone:
For the first night, I left it at 2G only, with autosync disabled, and wifi, bluetooth, gps etc. off. All above apps were running, viber and whatsapp included, and obviously with no autosync, Gmail was not, so only the Email app that comes with android was running and checking email. In one night, it drained no more than 6%, over 8 hours.
The second night; again 2G only, and everything off, except for autosync, which I set to sync gmail only, and disabled the native Email app. In 6 hours overnight, battery drained 10%. This does not make sense for me, why would gmail drain so much battery?
Next, while I can live with those stand-by times, what is wierd is that while using the phone, the battery drains at unbelievable rates. I leave it mostly on 2G, barely using 3G every now and again. This morning, I left the house with 90% battery. charged it on my way to uni with the car, then when I got there played some games and a few songs for maybe 15 mins, then my friend came and we goofed around taking a video with the effects for a few minutes not more than 5. THen I went on for my lesson, took about 15 photos with no flash, with CamScanner and organized them into documents, then used regularly my phone to send texts, whatsapp and viber, then browsed the web for maybe 10 mins on 3G. By 12 o' clock, my phone was nearly dead (10%)! This does not seem normal to me, even though the standby times range from excellent, to acceptable it seems like the phone uses an enormous amount of battery when in use generally. The brightness varied from about 10% indoors, to 80% when outdoors. (most use was indoors). To make the time clear, I got to uni at 6.30 am, and while using the phone and games the phone was still connected to the car charger.
I have not done any modification to the phone. NO updates, no root (which I heard causes battery drain) no nothing.
HELP ?

hey, some tips if you want to extend your battery life, that worked for me, set display bright 50% and check auto bright mark, use some app like antutu cpu master (root required) to down your cpu clock to 1200 Mhz or 1000 (i used 1000Mhz), and also you should consider upgrade your firmware to v10h, you can notice the change in the battery duration, for me with all this tips, my battery drains about 30% from 5am to 3pm with a normal usage (gmail sync, whatsapp, email sync, facebook, twitter, some calls, sms), if you play casual games, battery duration goes down, but with cpu speed set to 1000mhz you can obtain a little more while gaming and avoid overheating

Thank you Ok, so is it safe to change to v10H? Will I need to factory reset everything? Because I would really like to avoid that? Plus to downclock would I need root? THen I'm going to definitely need to factory reset right?
Also which rom should I go for? I keep seeing the "Stock" roms and the deodexed zipaligned roms, which are better? If possible can you include for me a link to the actual rom you are using? thanks
BTW:: I don't have auto brightness setting!!
And is it wierd that gmail seems to be using way too much battery on standby?
This is actually quite 'normal' as most O4X users experience this notorious battery drain.
To extend your battery, you might want to do these:
1. Root your phone and uninstall any unnecessary bloatwares
2. Install battery saving app. A word of precaution though, for some it works wonder, and some experience disaster. I personally use Juice Defender and have seen some battery improvement.
3. Root your device and edit your com.telephone database. I've seen major battery improvement by doing this.
4. Get yourself some power banks. This thing comes handy when you're running out of juice.
You can browse this forum to do all the above.

Explain the com.telephone procedure? I'm seeing some improvement by using apex and freezing bloat, lower brightness etc but could do with a little more juice

Hello guys,
Can you, people who are getting around 6h of battery life, share your tips & tricks in order to do so ?
Sharing some of the settings you did or didn't enable would be great !
Thanks
I know that Google Now and Latitude drains a lot of battery. Turn that of if you want better battery.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I would also suggest to turn of facebook notifications. U could decrease weather update interval from 1 hour to 2 hours and have your energy saver option always enabled. This cpu will get downclocked from 1,728 ghz to 1,134 ghz and u will notice no difference in games or anything..not even in very very demanding games, cause this cpu is extremely fast (even underclocked it is faster than one x+ cpu or galaxy s3 cpu)
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I use power saver as I don't game, and I honestly can't notice any difference apart from improved battery life.
I also turn off mobile data when I'm out of the house and not using it. Constantly syncing data, especially when you have poor signal, kills the battery.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Thanks for your input guys.
I also read somewhere that it's better to select 2G/3G network over 2G/3G/4G so I will be monitoring that.
Regarding the meteo app, I'll set it to refresh once every day, which is plenty enough. What I will not do again though is install Avast!, looks to me like the damn things tries to connect to the internet every time you unlock the screen (in order to check for updates I guess).
Google Now & Latitudes will be disabled, as I don't use them.
Keep the tips coming
Personally I find the battery to be great i leave everything on do lots of web browse YouTube games and i use it as a phone as well lol and will last me all day and some

You're very lucky. Out of the box (by that I mean I didn't change any settings) I only got 3h30 screen time (albeit most of it was 3G browsing, but still, that's pretty low compared to what others are gettings, 5 to 6h easily)

It might be because I'm on a custom rom don't know but i do leave my phone on charge for 5 hours when i get home plus I read somewhere if you run the battery down 3 times it will last a lot longer so i did
I took my phone off an overnight charge at 7 am this morning. It's now 12.35pm, 5.5 odd hours on battery and I still have 94%.
I've sent several texts, checked Facebook a few times through the course of the day.... I do have power saver on.
I don't have updates coming to my phone 24/7.
The way I like to use my phone is, I only get updates when I want them. I.e, when i turn my data connection or WiFi on.
I couldn't think of anything worse than being pestered all day from Soundcloud/ Facebook / Twitter / Google.... etc etc. Updates/notifications.
actually if you constantly turn on the screen the battery drops really fast.
I think if you're on a stable network, you should just choose the network model you use (2G or 3G only)
also, turn off auto sync and kill background programs that you no longer use should save some energy.
6 hrs is average. I unplugged the phone at around 8:00am and by noon only about 55% left. Though the screen basically never off coz I kept surfing the net and texting.
Hello,
My XT890 is with stock 4.1.2, 3.0.34 kernel. I have been using it since past 3 months and have never achieved a good battery life. Like, on standby mode after a full charge it survives for 10hours and goes to 10%. If I use it for watching youtube or some songs, it drains within 3 hours. I think, this is because of the stock ROM.
Is there any better ROM that provides a good battery life atleast surving for a day with moderate usage like 30mins of phone calls, full day 3Gnetwork on with 30mins of browser usage and will survive for like 48hours on standby.
I am handing over this phone to my Mom who would barely charge it daily. So, I expect some good standby time.
Is there any ROM/Mod that may help me to achieve these stats?
Thanks.
Sure. Well at least one and a half day is definitely possible. More battery life when you don't use it that much.
I suggest you the One Rom and also the Razr I cleaner and Greenify for hibernating APPs that should not be in standby.
I use the 4.1.2 en.GB Stock ROM and disabled a LOT of unused standard apps.
I am always online with WLAN/3G and Skype, Whatsapp, Email, and have a realy good discharge-rate of 0.8% per hour!!!
I recharge my phone after 3-5 Days.
i can later attach some Screenshots of my disabled standard apps.

i use standard "automatic brightness".
As you can see my display-on-times are not sooo good.
I'm averaging 2+ days with moderate usage, emails, data always on (hspda+) brightness on auto, whatsapp, facebook, xda, chrome etc throughout the day and evening.
Standard euro 4.1.2 in strong mobile reception areas so its not constantly switching 2g, 3g or hspda

Hi
Got my p20 pro a few days ago, love the phone but have a few issues, mainly battery.
After seeing slot of comments saying how people are easily getting 6/7 even 8 or 9 hours sot I'm struggling to get to 5. I have display on auto, removed uneeded apps, have darkened colour selected for menus etc yet I can't get through a day of use (Twitter, email, internet and some YouTube videos) I do have Spotify on in the background slot, but looking at the usage settings the highest battery use for that has been around 241 ma, so not a great deal
Is there anything obvious I'm missing?
A second issue is that when using pinch to zoom in you tube in landscape mode I get a line between the screen and the notch which looks like a weird display gap and is really annoying, anyone else get that?
Lastly...in camera mode I've watched a ton of phone reviews and night mode is a swipe able option along the bottom, next to aperture mode etc...however I don't have this, I have to go into more then night mode, anyone know why that is? ( I'm in the UK if that makes any difference)
Thanks for any help you can give
Ross
Same here, Im not impressed with the battery.
Same here. Its not a deal breaker though over night
I lose 2% on idle with aeroplane mode on and then shortly using 2% drops off.
We seem to forget that this is the initial release of the firmware - I am sure huawei will optimise it further to improve battery
My phone nearly always gets charged overnight, the fact that this is now easily getting me through the day with zero scares is good for me, I'm not trying to eek 2 days out of it, if Huawei somehow get that then all well and good, but for now I'm happy knowing it's unlikely to die on me if I leave the house at 100%
I had the same issue, but seem to have stabilised it.
Try the following :
Stick to one resolution rather than smart.
Disabled adaptive eye.
Keep the notch on
Managed all apps manually (setting only my key apps to auto and run in background)
I also deleted the cache on all apps and the system via boot menu because I think migration caused some of the issues.
I'm sure mines got something going on in the back ground, fully charged to 100% left in standby while driving to work, arrive (30 mind later with the phone not used) and it's gone down 3%.
Tried the settings above and have manual control over all the apps, I kill off apps after I use them and it's still draining worse than any phone I've had for the last few years.

I get between 8 and 9 SOT a day, Wifi most of the day, 3 hours netflix on 4g with BT headphones, instagram, whatsapp, web browsing, streaming deezer music on BT headphones, texts, some calls. No snapchat or games though and facebook is not logged in.
Haven't tested standby drain yet but maybe it's standby that's killing your battery?
This is in one day though and is excessive use as I have two Instagram accounts and lots of work emails as well. I also don't have a pc at home so use phone for browsing.
How is your settings within the battery category? Do you manage the apps to etc run manually or what do you have in the settings that gets you so much of SOT?
So after some days of testing and trying out some battery monitor apps, the max SOT that I get is 5 hours and 45 minutes.
GSam reports that Android System and Kernel (Android OS) use more than 30% of the battery combined. Is that normal? I'll attach some screenshots.
What I also find interesting is that the AccuBattery app shows that the estimated capacity of my battery being at 3500mAh out off the 4,000mAh design capacity and battery health is at 88%.

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck either. I've deactivated almost everything that could be using up the battery and I still don't get more than 6-7 hours of SOT... I've had the phone for two months now, battery life didn't really get better as some people mention. I carry a powerbank with me cause when I'm out and taking photos it doesn't even make it through half the day...
Did you guys deactivate the option mobile data while connected with wifi? That drains a lot of battery while connected with wifi and is activated out of the box for no reason. What also drains battery are the two options under location settings to search for wifi networks all the time.
When I was on emui I set all apps to manual and only activated active in background and auto start for apps that really need it and I want to get notifications from, like WhatsApp and telegram.
Under mobile data settings I also deactivated background data for those apps and boom, easily 10+ hrs SOT when on WiFi or 7-8 hrs on mobile data.
I'm running force Doze app as well but that might only help with standby drain.
Oh and get rid of Facebook, messenger and snapchat if you want good battery. They are known for huge drain and there are good or even better alternatives like Friendly e.g.

That does not sound too bad...At least you're getting 6-7 hours of SOT. I'm getting like 4H MAX lately. And that is mostly internal usage! with low brightness.

Thanks for that! I've just disabled "Mobile data always on" and we'll see how much difference does it make. I also might give Friendly a shot.
Also, if I disable background data/app launch for Facebook, that will surely prevent facebook to sync constantly, right? I don't need constant notifications from facebook, only from messenger.
Also I noticed I went to sleep with 100%, after 7 hours I woke up with 92% left. That is with Always ON display. Is this normal standby drain? I'm also thinking about disabling always on display as it does not show notifications correctly anyway.

Yes that should prevent notifications from Facebook.
Hm when I charge it to 100% I usually still have 100% when I wake up 7hrs later. That doesn't mean I have no drain but I think the phone stays at 100% fairly long and seems to drain faster on low battery percentage (similar to iPhone afaik). When I charge to 90% for example I wake up with 87% or so. That's more realistic I think. Wifi on, everything else off, no AOD.

Not too many actually. Could probably deactivate some more but seems fine as it is.
My system is German but it must be somewhere in wireless and network - mobile network - advanced.
