touchless controll
Hi, I'm italian but I have set English as the default language on my phone ..
I need to set the Italian language only for some apps . Most apps in the configuration options provides the choice of language but, I can not configure "touchless controll" . Is there a way to force it in using the Italian language?
The phone is not rooted.
thanks
debharlock
Hi! I believe the touchless controls or Moto Voice is linked to your phone's language. Also, there's a possibility your language is not supported. I tried it with my phone in Japanese, and it told me the touchless controls were not available for that language.

It should be rooted (a brilliant possibility to have read root rights on bootlocked device), then Xposed, then AppSettings module for it, and choose any language you like for any app )

I'm using Rods MIUI rom Rusty, what about you? Any ideas why I can't see UK apps in the Market? All apps come up either as:
~$PRICE
or
US$PRICE
Nothing at all for UK :-(
Ah, intesting.
I presume you've got your location/languages set right? I assume it's defaults are probably not UK English.

Browser (web) when I checked locales shows as en-gb just did a basic test with a PHP script, not sure what else to check?
The English setting (if I select it) e.g. without Locale / MoreLocale goes to United States, How can you default the entire android system locales to UK?
Pop into the Keyboard & Language settings and see what the current language is. English UK is the one you'd want to be on, I presume.

Yea this is the problem matey, I go into that select English it makes it US english? Nothing in there for UK?
Ah yes, that is a problem then. I guess the folks de-Chineseifying MIUI (or the MIUI creators) haven't added UK support.

People are using that Locales application that did change it to United Kingdom when I viewed Keyboard settings etc but it seems rather a pseudo method than a real locale change to the android sub-system! :-(
Any ideas?

The funny thing is - your guide sucks. Removing velvet.apk removes Google launcher and you have to manually open Google now-Google search to use it and OK Google function. + learn proper English or use auto correction. I don't speak English to, but I do my best to be understood.
His guide didnt work for me the first time either but I kept trying, even with different launchers I think the trick for me was rebooting before installing Google search and then again after. Now it works. My friend also did this, it worked for him as well. I'm not saying this WILL work for you but its worth a try good luck.

You asked the same question on miui forum
There is currently no method to root Stable ROM (I don't think) You have to flash Developer ROM from this link http://en.miui.com/download-273.html Flash it using the updater application. After flashing it go to Security>Permissions>Root Access

If you flash TWRP after installing the developer rom, you can then flash the stable rom and retain root

Hey guys, since i got asked by several beta testers from freedomOS i thought i'll make a thread for everyone.
If you go to your language setting and chose "English (XA)" as first language and then your desired language, for examle "German", as second (so pull english xa on top and the other language under it) your phone language will still be your desired language and not english.
Now you can use the new Font section of OB17 also with other languages than english, chinese and japanese.
I dont know why this only seems to be working with English XA though. Maybe because its kind of empty or not working and system skips to second selected language, no idea.

Font don't apply in Gboard here.. all rest is fine, any solution?
Works fine with Polish, but I would add a note to the OP that after language change there should be a reboot performed - in my case I couldn't see the font menu in settings. It appeared after a reboot.
