I am having a very weird issue. Running a rooted 5.1.1 (build LMY47Z) Nexus 6. I recently began encountering issues with sending MMS. SMS and Hangout messages work just fine. At first, some messages would not come through and I would have to download them. However, now, no messages come in and I cannot send any MMS group messages.
I have tried disabling the recent update, switching to the native messaging app, clearing the cache and data for the app, and reinstalling the updates, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.
UPDATE
I went into recovery and wiped dalvik and cache. Getting this error now "Unkown Issue with Google Play Services"
More updates
I have resolved the Google Play Services Issue. Disabled it and then updated it.
Still has not fixed the MMS issue.
Someone please help
Another update
Ok, so now, after wiping once again, I am getting the message not receive "download" prompt, but they still aren't coming through.
I have no idea what to do here.

If you have an add blocker running turn it off, I have the same problem if mine is running.

If you can access and change APN settings, Google search the correct APN settings for your region. Perhaps that may help. Also, under settings>more>cellular networks>carrier settings, what options are available? I'm on Sprint so I'm not sure what options are there for AT&T.
Also, +1 for the comment above mine. Forgot about that one.

The only options under that tab you directed me to are the following: 1) data roamin; 2) preferred network type (set to LTE); and 3) access point names (currently set to ATT Nextgenphone).

Most likely, yes. White list your messengers or consider uninstalling.

I uninstalled for now, but it doesn't seem to be working. DO you think a restart or wipe is necessary?

Try a restart first, then if not, wipe dalvik and cache in recovery.

I picked up the NC and rooted (used auto-nooter 2.12.25 for 1.0.1) without issue a couple days ago. Everything has been working fine (including downloading apps from the market), but yesterday the market stopped downloading apps (it would say that it was starting the download, but never actually do anything). Fast-forward to today and the market won't even open, it immediately closes itself.
Any ideas or suggestions as to what might be the issue would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing that I may have to restore to stock and root the NC again, but I thought I would seek some help before that.
Go to settings, then applications, click all, then click the market application, click force stop if its running, then click clear cache, then reboot

Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, that didn't help. When I went to clear the cache, it was already empty. I still followed the steps and rebooted, but it wouldn't open.
Get Titanium Backup & wipe data on the market.

When I look at the settings app on the NC I don't see where one could goto applications and do that. That is what I would find in a typical android settings app which the rooted NC doesn't have or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks, I tried it, but no go.
I went ahead and wiped it to stock and rooted it again. So far, so good, but I do worry about what caused it to stop working in the first place.
Does anyone know if a HTC One that is not used on AT&T or T-Mobile will receive this update automatically?
Are we talking a sense 5 HTC One? Or a GE One? Please supply a little more information.

My bad. I thought I included that originally. I mean the Google Play edition that's already started with the rollout. I haven't seen anything on my phone yet and was curious if the carrier would have any impact on that.
There's a way of forcing your phone to look for the update. Sorry but I can't remember what it is but I've seen it before. It involves clearing the data and/or cache in settings for one of the Google apps and rebooting I think. Maybe do a search, or someone here will probably know.

EDIT: clear data for Google Services Framework in Settings -> Apps -> (All) and reboot then check for updates again..

I tried that with no luck.
Post my question here instead of creating a new thread. My phone is a rommed GE HTC One and I just got a notice saying there is a 4.3 update (188.xx mb) This did it by itself, im running a custom kernel (based on GE) that came with the rom, is it safe to update to 4.3?
It will fail

Do you know a way to make it work? Dont really want to find another rom GE with 4.3 and clear my phone again :|
Unless you do the full conversion to google edition, you can't get ota so just flash one of the 4.3 roms.

To anyone else reading this, don't try this. I cannot install apps from the play store right now.

I forced the update any device did the same thing; removing and adding my Google accounts did fix the issue too. However, I can no longer use tethering on my device – if you use tethering, does it work for you?

Good idea. I just extracted system.img from LMY48i and flashed only the system.img LMY48i with the fastboot method with PC connected.
Result an updated N6. But some things needed to be restored:
- SuperSU and Busybox.
- Build.prop tweaks (dpi 384, WiFi interval)
- Black Google now launcher
- Icons on the screen
so with that, it blocks out all notifications by google play services. Would that also stop prompting me when apps need manual intervention to update?

Try clearing your cache, if it's still laggy after that I'd recommend a factory reset.

For some reason when the phone startup, the message of "optimizing application" never appeared, can be that?
I also had some lag after the update, most noticeably in apps like whatsapp . Somewhere someone said that you should go into developer options and tick disable HW overlays. This solved it for me, i don't know if there are "side effects" to this, but you can give it a shot.

found the solution. just don't disable com.vivo.magazine app and you are good in new update. if this app is disabled then you will not get past lockscreen. only option will be to enable app through adb route. (adb option must be enabled from developer settings)
