HI,
I've recently switched to CM 10.2 on my note n8000 and I've found "the mic bug on wired headset" as others have already told.
Now I'm running the last CM nightly build cm-10.2-20131213-NIGHTLY but I think this fix should work on all roms based on CM;
Just overwrite the file "GT-N8000" in /system/etc/sound with the one inside the zip attached to this post, set permission -rw-r--r-- and reboot.
Now your headset mic should work. Test it on n80xx, it should work for those models too.
If you have another model rename the file inside my zip accordingly to the one present in /system/etc/sound (like GT-N8013)
If you find any problem report here.
Attached v2:
mic volume was too low
Attached v3:
EXPERIMENTAL, UNTESTED
Set samsung default AUDIO settings for dock (analog output) and HDMI (digital output).
UPDATE: Audio will be reproduced with speaker when on dock, Hdmi audio still not working.
Attached v4:
UNTESTED: changed routing for hdmi.
Try this at your own risk, if it's working please report.
thank you so much, im finding for this fix a long time
Hey, kind of just bumping for visibility, but how did you come up with these changes? I'll probably incorporate this fix into Omni but I just want to make sure this is a correct fix and doesn't cause any other issues. Thanks!
hi there, i just found the bug, indeed your fix make headset mic work with most of applications but, now, it make me unable to make any phonecall, i can hear the other say but they can't hear me at all

Built-in microphone should be working during calls, but you can't use headset with mic.
If you use headphones (like the ones for a mp3 player, without mic) you should be able to make a call using the builtin mic of the tablet or you can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix to force the use of the builtin mic even if a headset is plugged.
I know it's quite "uncomfortable".
I'm already trying to fix that too, I've spoken with iofthestorm for including that in omnirom but actually it's a work in progress.

Try to connect your headphones after the call is started. Are you using the original samsung headset or headphones?

Download the program I've suggested two post before this. Open it, go to wired headset behavior and remove the tick in wired headset microphone. Now during calls it's used the builtin mic. For me it's working.

Hi
I have a Xperia Z1 and i have MIC issues. It is a primary mic. People can not hear me well, there is sparkling and like waterfall/windy sound.
I tryed Factory reset and it doesnt work. Secondary MIC working fine but not Primary.
Even when recording videos it is the same.
What is the issue of this? Is it standard problem with Z1? Its not expensive to replace to new one but i just wonder if someone other have same issue?
Where is the MIC flex cable located?
I do have the same problem.. But only with whatsapp sound messages, everything else works fine..
can't figure out how to fix this or what is causing this problem.. :/
Ye it is wierd but for me nothing works not even calls
Skickat från min C6903 via Tapatalk
Can someone help me where the mic is located?
I found a mic on top of the phone under the cover and disabled it and turn phone on and tryed to see if it is any
sound recording but i still got same issue even when mic us not connected to mainboard.
Is it wrong MIC? It has primary and secondary where are they located? Please help
Ok i found it
http://userguide.sonymobile.com/ref...ria-z1#!Phone-overview---C6902C6903C6906.html
The MIC i disconnected was secondary mic. The primary mic is on bottom of the phone built in with speakers i think.
I believe I have the exact same problem. The primary microphone seems to have died completely or people could just hear a distorted "canny" voice. I have no idea how to solve this.
I have even more miracious issue - my microphone (in C6903, Qualcom MSM8974, software: 14.5.A.0.270, Android 5.0.2, kernel: 3.4.0) works only in Whatsup and not Viber (which is another communicator) and normal call ?
How is it possible that mic works in Whatsup but not in Viber ?
Thanks,
Artur

Hello
I am on Globerom 6.12.8 and I am having trouble using my cabled headphones during a call. If the screen goes off I can still hear the conversation but people on the other end can't hear me. It's very annoying since I use headphones for calls all the time. Any idea of what could be the problem? (I use Nova Launcher as default). Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you ever find an answer on this? I have the same problem
I don't have this problem, but perhaps play with the settings in:
settings -> sound & vibration -> audio settings.
I'm guessing there is a headphone setting causing it o recognize/not recognize the microphone in the earphones.

Excuse me, but what's about updating GlobeROM to newest version first and ask again if update doesn't fix that issue?

Gear S3 frontier paired with new Note 9 causing issues in whatsapp. Everytime I make a whatsapp call the Bluetooth Icon is always on/selected and sometimes calls go on speakerphone. Also randomly WhatsApp hangs and no way to hangup the call but to request other party to hangup call and WhatsApp resumes. Making normal calls over GSM carrier works fine.

Also incoming calls go to speaker.. Outgoing calls are fine but show Bluetooth Icon as if it is selected. Tried Viber and that works fine. If anyone had a note 9 and a gear S3 do chime in.

Seems like I'm the only one with this issue. No one else seems to have it. My wife's note 8 works fine. Is it a faulty unit or whatsapp?

same issue here as well ... any resolution till date ?
People who voip call me on Whatsapp , my speaker phone is activated all the time . This happened on my note 8 and 9. Hope this answers OP answer.

EXACTLY SAME SITUATION AS ME! Pairs the S3 with the Note 9 and i have tried over 3 different BT headsets which result in the same outcome.
1) Hitting answer on the BT headset doesnt answer the phone
2) Sliding the answer slide for recieving a whatsapp voice call results in the BT icon on, loudspeaker off but the call still goes on loudspeaker mode.
But if I unpair the S3, problem 1 still exists, but problem 2 disappears. All firmwares are up to date.
Same issue here with Galaxy watch and note9
Same problem with Note 9 and Galaxy Watch. WhatsApp and Telegram calls are recieved on loud speaker. Any solutions, guys?

Unfortunately - no. But it seems that it's not Samsung bug but Android 8.1. People with 8.1 devices claim the same.
WhatsApp causing many issues
Hello
I have an S9 Plus. Once upon a time, I was receiving whatsapp calls on my gear S3 as a norm. Everything dandy. Wouldnt need to go running to go fetch my phone just so I can answer a whatsapp call. Just pick it up on my phone. It was the convenience and a major plus. Now long gone.
However, now, I have for a few months, come to notice that i can no longer pick up whatsapp call in my car using the button on my steering wheel, or by clicking the pickup button on the gps screen. Although the call shows up on the screen, it can only be received by sliding up on the phone which makes it a very unsafe situation because I now have to take my eyes of the road and start sliding on tthephone screen to receive a call. Things, instead of getting better and safer, they are becoming unsafe.
Oh I am on Android 9.0 and it was working fine on 9.0 before.
