Other Info
*Alright guys, after seeing a lot of people post random bugs without providing basic information or logs, I decided to make a simple little write up on some basic rules to the thread.
1. Be courteous to one another & try & be helpful when you can. I can't answer every single question as I'm very busy trying to build the best rom I can make for you guys, so if you know a solution to a problem please answer.
2. If you are using xposed, DO NOT POST BUGS! I have already seen people posting issues only to find out it was due to xposed or one of it's modules.
3. When posting bugs, do so with as much information as possible. We can't help you if you don't give the proper information.*
*****
**** What version or the rom are you on?
**** Clean or dirty install?
**** Mainline or Ultimate kernel?
**** Are you using a theme?
**** If you dirty flashed & have problems, did you try a clean install?
*****
4. If you are having random reboots how about providing a log? These are invaluable as they provide the information to fix a real issue with the rom or to tell me that it is a user error.
5. If you are new to aosp or just don't know much about kernels, it is best to stick with the mainline kernel as it is very stable. No need to mess with the settings either as I have the kernel setup to enjoy out of the box.**

You could always disable kernel auditor and use Synapse... Just an idea

Read the OP. Stock kernel is recommended. But I'm sure flashing Candy kernel or something would be fine. But seriously, did you not read the OP? You really don't need to overclock this device. 2265 is plenty fast, especially with the SaberMod optimizations. My phone is pretty damn zippy IMO. Just flash it, run it, if you don't like it, then don't come back..... NEXT!

Is there a feature list or could u point me in the direction to view one? I really love slim, just want an idea of what's included in here. Also, I know it says slimLP kernel, did u add kexec to it or chance of adding in future?

Some screen shots. Probably in the reverse order that I took them. I'll update the OP soon. Just really busy atm. Pretty sure no Kexec. I'm not the creator of this rom,i only ported it. I accept zero credit for any work done here. Just wanted to get this out to the M8 community. Thanks.

Doesn't make any sense. If you read the OP, you wouldn't have needed to ask questions.

I know this rom is unofficial, but how is it in performance. Is it stable? I heard that it is extremely quick.
Wanted to know before I flashed.

Just flash it. It's been stable for me so far. I will try and see if official support is something that I can get for the M8 as well. It would definitely help me out with keeping this ROM current and updated. Also, might be a day, maybe 2 until I put another build out. I have family over and am working and going to school a lot lately. Make sure to read the OP very carefully everyone!

Both are doing it for free dude, its OK to bear small defects.

Of course, IF he made the device kernel. Quarx made it. That member has also commented in Quarx ROM and he is still working on it. So how would it make sense to tell that to a person who stated he directly used Quarx kernel and ask him to fix it?

Only to clarify, what I reported is not critical , only feedback. In cm11 , 14 and 15/08 and Mokee the front camera works. Thank you for the great job ...

Meh. Try wiping dalvik and cache via recovery. Then run SD Maid app
Hey so I've had this issue in every AOSP based rom I've tried with the exception being the latest cm12.1 nightlies. Im on firmware 4.04 with carrier ROGERS from Canada, and no matter what radio i have (tried 4.20.631 latest firmware rogers specific, even tried the WWE edition) or whatever i have no data connection. I can send SMS and phone call but not MMS or internet, even after installing fresh GPE RUU for 4.04 i have data and clean install of any other lollipop rom besides cm12.1 results in this error. (Trust me a tried a few and did only clean installs, even tried completely wiping internal storage and nothing)
Thanks in advance!
P.s. forgot to mention I'm using super cid with soff, tried changing cid to rogers and nothing still.
You have messed with APNs at all? Airplane mode toggle? Idk otherwise. I used to have the same issue and eventually lost all cell and data connection regardless of the ROM, stock, sense, aosp, didn't matter. Had to send it in for warranty replacement
Got a fresh build cooking fellas hoping to update tonight ?

You had your data working only on stock rom and cm12.1? it also works on my nandroids which are pre lollipop, which makes me believe its a bug. Never had any other issues with data until now.

For the people which want to know. Antutu: ~156.000 Enjoy the super smooth kernel.
So happy you decided to share!!! cheers
edit: 3 hours SOT, 14 hours since flashed, started at 80% currently at 40%. Can't wait to see what happens when the kernel settles. Ssssmooooth. Thank you!
edit: all with elementalX governor and cfq
Awesome man!
Will this be included in the radioactive rom?
Is it okay to be used with this rom if i'm already on the stock radioactive kernel included?
Nice work. Thanks for this.

Yea sure but first I want some responds from the users about smoothness, battery life etc..

Flashed on your ROM, so far so good it's been a few hours of heavy usage, using ElementalX, and cfq. Gonna report back on battery life most likely tonight, but again that's subjective as we all know it's based on many factors. I'm excited to see where this ROM goes, because it indeed has plenty potential. Thank you for your dedication and hard work, as a community I and I'm sure we, appreciate it.
Loving the kernel so far! Super smooth and responsive, not to mention that the battery life is among the best I've had on this phone so far!
Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH for F2FS support, even if it's only the System partition for now.
Do you think it would be possible to extend F2FS support to Data and Cache as well?
I would greatly appreciate it.

I agree man.
Please do report back for the elementalx governor, keep it until you go low battery and post a screnshot of your screen on time.
I'm really curious of how it performs!

No this one is a much newer version. BUt it's still in alpha thats why it's not included in the newest rom.

I'm only mildly familiar with f2fs on Android. Obviously it needs kernel support. Does it need ROM support or twrp support of any special nature? Is that in twrp 3.0.4-1 unified and NucleaROM already, if so?
Also, is there or will there be any support for warBeards Qualcomm adjustments?

If we don't flash hellsgate, the default one that comes with the rom is render kernel?
wow great, a new ROM to try hope it will be updated regularly and also to oreo
thanks to DEV
1 question, will this work ok on 2017u 6 GB 128GB version
I'll wait for some more feedback, cautious flashaholic here, but excited about this new Rom
Awesome! I'll flash this when I get home. Does this come with Hellsgate kernel by default? Or does it come with Render kernel by default? I'm excited to try it, reading the features list has me hoping that I'll finally find a ROM I'll like more than Resurrection Remix!
Can't wait to test this!
But I'm a little bit confused: Come the kernel with render kernel or hellsgate? Should i Flash hellsgate after? Which one should i use?
Thanks!

For the same reason you should flash any other rom in case your phone has stock ZTE's firmware. Although ZTE's stock rom isn't that bad but I haven't missed it at all since I started flashing roms on my Axon7

Running buttery smooth with HellsGate on my A2017U. The screen and hardware keys seem very responsive to touch. Overall performance is fluid. To early to tell much else.
I flashed hellsgate kernel from page one of ops thread. Is that the right kernel?

It should be named Hellgate eas R 2.
Not to sound like a ****, but if you read the first two posts it is pretty clear.
Has someone flashed it without hellsgate?
Is render kernel included?
Thanks.

This kernel is a joint collaboration between @joshuous and myself. Our primary goal is to deliver a fast, smooth and stable kernel with Energy Aware Scheduling (EAS). We have spent countless hours backporting, experimenting, tuning and improving our understanding of EAS in our kernels. We aim to keep our kernel slim on features, adding only what we believe is essential.
It is also our desire to initiate Development Discussions among the community. This will be a noob friendly thread as long as users follow two rules. First is to do some research before asking. Most likely your question has already been asked. If not in this thread then in another. Remember to always search first! Second is BE RESPECTFUL. You do these two things and even the most hardened Dev will assist you.
Features:
* Energy Aware Scheduler optimization/changes
* Upstreamed to 4.9.196
* Dynamic Stune Boost
* Wake Gestures
* KCAL Color Control
* Sound Control
* LED Control
* Min Back Light Control
* Wireguard
* Vibration Control
* USB Fast Charge
We recommend EX Kernel Manager/ Franco Kernel Manager for making kernel changes
Kernel Downloads:
Latest OOS-P Build
Please note:
Because of how Android Pie deals with the ramdisk, Magisk is now required to properly apply default kernel settings.
Instructions:
* Boot into Recovery
* (Recommended) Make a complete backup of everything! At least backup BOOT via TWRP
* If you're not coming from a completely clean ramdisk, please re-flash your rom.
* Flash kernel zip
* Reboot
Reporting Bugs (please read):
* Make sure you're not using any tweak apps (Greenify, Naptime, anything else related), otherwise no support will be given. If you have an issue, disable all your tweaks first and see if that fixes your problem. Otherwise, flash the stock kernel and see if you can reproduce it as well.
* If you previously flashed another kernel, make sure you dirty flashed the full ROM zip before flashing RenderZenith kernel.
* Logs! Please provide all logs via Syslog app from the Play Store.
THANKS!!!!
* The kind people who keep this project alive
* Everyone who supported us throughout our projects
* @joshuous for his partnership and collaboration with our current projects and many more to come. The future looks bright!

RenderZenith for OOS-P-OP6: V1.0.0 is here!!!
Things to note:
This is our initial release for the OP6/T and has all the normal RZ features you have come to expect. This release has taken a large amount of work, testing, reworking, retesting and so on but I feel that it is finally up to RZ standards.
Because of how well the kernel was performing, I was able to adjust the default settings to allow the big cores/cluster to idle longer. I was able to do this by disable touchboost, and only boosting small cores. This allows the big cores to not be needlessly boosted, thus waking them from idle/sleep.

Why hello there. Enjoyed your EAS kernel on the OP3. Welcome.
Great to see new kernel for OP6T.
Thanks devs for hard work and awesome kernel
Great work :good:
Thanks to the devs for the awesome kernel!
Thank you very much. Following your work since G2 days. It is great to have you here and enjoy your quality work.
If you could support AOSP ROMs in a future, it would be even better. Best regards
Does this work on open beta or just stable?

I will be working on supporting the op6 custom scene as well. I am very happy with how the oos release has come. Testing Def shows a great improvement over stock kernel. I look forward to pushing it further a doing the same for custom roms.

Both though I highly recommend stable. There is some weird dequeuebuffer thrashing that consistently happens on open Beta. I recently went to stable and the difference is night and day. Testing had also shown a great improvement between stock kernels for OB and stable.

Yea, I will make op clearer about this. You will need to flash Magisk before flashing RZ. I would recommend coming from a clean ramdisk as well. Otherwise other kernel scripts may interfere with RZ.

This is also correct. Still, I always keep a backup of the current rom Bootimg that I am on. This way I can restore to make sure the ramdisk is clean. One thing though is you will always be able to dirty flash RZ ontop of RZ unless told otherwise.
Finally! Excellent work chaps
@RenderBroken since the kernel is unified, could you possibly start a thread over in the 6T forums since we don't have a unified thread for 6/6T yet?
Nice, another kernel for us to try.
Thank you.
Was using ur kernel from the days of op3 and then on op5. Now Atlast came to op6.
You are doing a great job. ?
