When my N3 is on my Qi charger overnight it turns on randomly. The screen is so bright it wakes me up sometimes. There are no notifications or incoming messages which would trigger it, and even so I put it on blocking mode overnight. Anyone have any idea what these random wake ups might be? I do have carrier wakelock disabled and it's on kitkat with towelroot.
It might be the fully charged notification.
I would check the battery charging logs. Mine has done this and it ended up being a crappy qi insert in the phone. I switched brands and never had that problem again. it would charge, then stop, then start, etc. but the logs made this very obvious so at least check them out.
Hello All,
I have noticed that when my BT headset is connected, and I answer the phone with the handset, the screen does not turn off. this works perfectly if I turn the BT headset off. Has anyone noticed anything similar?
Jon
Yep..mine does the same thing. I noticed it when I would get a call while driving. My phone is connected to my car and it would not turn the display off until I hit the power button. I just keep my phone plugged into my outlet (quick charger) so I don't lose battery by having it idle while on a call or listening to music.
Got my S6 (Verizon) on Friday. Pretty happy with the overall improvements. Main sad points are no better battery life and what seems to be a weaker bluetooth radio.
Overnight I charge my phone on a night table beside my bed. For 3 nights I slept well just like I have with my previous S3 and S5 phones.
I got my sexy new wireless charger yesterday and decided to use that on the night table to charge my phone, but was awoken by a nice "beep" when the phone was fully charged. If not bad enough, the charge seemed to cycle off and back on at some point in time (think it was less than a half hour), and it beeped again. This woke me up and is not going to work!
I can't find any option to disable in settings/battery or settings/sounds and notifications where I can turn off this beep on full charge. What I find odd is the different behavior of wired charging (no audible notification) and wireless charging (audible notification). I have confirmed that the beep is coming from the phone and not the charger by turning off the sound on the phone and letting it hit 100%.
Anyone know where this setting might be buried or know of some tweak or trick to disable this notification?
Thanks!
I have yet to fully change my s6 from at&t but make sure it is not the charging pad making the noise. Some pads have speakers to alert you of the phone charging and when it's finished. If that's the case I just opened mine up and cut the cords to the speaker. If not than I don't think k there's much you can do other than trying to change the settings using USB debugging and adb.
I have confirmed that the beep is coming from the phone and not the charger by turning off the sound on the phone and wireless charging to 100%. Under that condition, there is no beep.
Well I'm not quite sure what you could do to turn off the beep but I'm sure there's a way similar to the method to turn off the back button and menu button lights. The best idea I had was to have your phone go into silent mode at certain times to make sure it doesn't beep every x minutes throughout the night

Sadly, that's what I'm coming up with as well, which isn't what I want. I need to be able to be notified of work emergencies, college kid issues, etc. As flexible as android can be, it certainly is frustrating at the things you can't control without being rooted (and that doesn't appear to be an option today with Verizon Galaxy S6).
Oddly enough I have absolutely no sounds coming from my wireless charger or phone when it charges to full. The only sound I hear is the one that occurs when it starts charging or detects the wireless charger. Other than that, the phone charges in total silence, and the charger itself simply changes from blue to green once it hits 100%.
Mine as well. I use the Nokia wireless charger. Maybe the charger you are using is telling your phone to make the sound when the battery gets full.
Little update here on a partial solution.
I actually found an app "Battery Full Notification" that allowed me to turn off the audible beep when the battery is full during wireless charging.
...but due to the cycling off and on of charging after that point, I still get a beep when it begins to charge again. *sigh*.
I use trigger to automatically turn off notification sounds when I connect charger then have it turn notification sounds back on @ 7 am. You can do manually if you press volume up then the gear and turn notification down all the way.
Is there a way to disable these notification in the drop down tray? If I have everything going like normal, there are 5 notifications that I cannon clear off that take up the entire drop down. Cable charging, connected as media deice, power save on, 1 device connected for tether, and then the select keyboard.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5. When I plug in the phone for charging at night, the screen continuously comes on with a vibration, and I get a message momentarily that says my battery is low (I already know my battery is low, that is why I plugged it in). Having the screen continuously come on, really drains the phone more.
Are there any settings that can disable the charging ping that turns on my screen every few seconds?
