Has anybody else been having trouble with OK google? It doesn't pick up my voice, neither does voice typing... But the microphone icon isn't empty or hollow, it's full as if it's working

Does anybody know of a voice dialer software out there better than the one Google put out? If not, can someone PLEASE develop one? These things are supposed to be used in conjunction with a bluetooth headset and are supposed to avoid user input because of traffic laws yet the one Google put out prompts the user every time!
Isn't the bluetooth function coming in donut?
What do you mean "the bluetooth function"? Cupcake has full bluetooth capability and the voice dialer technically works with the voice dialer, just not even remotely well enough.
In reference to what your asking. Using your bluetooth to start voice dialing.
That's available right now. I can press the button on my headset to activate voice dialing. It works about 80% of the time. The problem is with the voice dialer application itself. Simply put: it sucks balls.
Does anyone know if the Quick Search Box's voice dialing feature is replacing the actual voice dialer? The teaser video for 1.6 shows it working well (ie figuring out WHO you want to call and doing it automatically without user input) but I also noted a voice dialer icon in the video and technically they pressed a button on the Quick Search Box to activate it. I'm wondering if that can be activated with a BT headset.

I hope so - i've been waiting (im)patiently for voice dial in the UK for a loooooong time
I love the way you have to put on an American accent to get the google voice dialer to work
Call home
English English - "Cawl hoeme" = random results
US english - "kahl hom" = call home
Rubbish
I had to rename the girlf in my phone to "love of my life" which works well. "K" offered me to call "Ed"... So its not great really. Voice search in google seems accurate though.
Direct dial shortcuts ftw. They actually require one less click than trying to voice dial.
BT headset voice dialling would be great though.
Real voice dialing for Android please! It's ridiculous how a 3 year old Windows Mobile device can have 100X better voice dialing...
The google voice app for the ipod touch natively detects that the device is not a phone and so you can't directly make call with it. Instead you can dial a number and the app will then initiate a call to the phone number that you have linked to the account and then call the number that you dialed in google voice. I need to make my nook color do the same thing. It doesn't work that way though. Instead it gives you an error and it force closes. I am using phiremod 5.3. Any help is appreciated
I also use Google Voice to do texting - wish I could get GV to work on the nook as well.
can you text using GV on the nook color?
You can text with it, yes.
-m
I do text with it using Google voice. I use my google voice number as my business number. I text people all day using my nook. It works pretty well (I actually wish that I could use handcent to text while still using my GV number, but that is another issue entirely). Occasionally though, I would like to call some of the people that I am texting. So I either have to call them with my normal cell phone and just type in their number, but this way they get my cell number on their Caller ID and so they don't know that I am calling them, or I have to do the whole process of dialing my GV number and going through the prompts to enter in the number I want to call.
All I want to do is click on a number in Google Voice and have it call my cell phone and connect through google voice automatically. Right now my only option is to use the web-based interface to do this. Even though this is exactly what the ipod touch google voice app does. (I totally know that the ipod touch OS and android are obviously way different things, I am just saying). I would think that there would be a way to work around this. If not, google should make it so that there is the option of having GV call my cell number to initiate the call.

if you ever use google voice a lot you will understand the question. no you can't talk through the nook using google voice. to do that requires a "full" voip like Skype. he wants to use the nook as a fancy dialer.
As for me i've just been using the web interface which is slow and buggy

Hello it seems Google Voice is not compatible with the Bionic. Is there a manual work around? I remember reading a while back a way to do this with the thunderbolt. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It says: unfortunately your carrier is not supported for automatic voicemail configuration. To use google voice as your voicemail provider, please visit the google voice help center more more information.
I got that error message too, but the voice mail does in fact work ok.
The problem I am having is that my google voice number is not showing as the calling number, even though it is set to be. I have tried changing the settings to ask each time, and it does not ask. It is still not working after rebooting too.

Just go to the google voice site on a computer and enter your phone number manually in the google voice settings on the website. It is a very self explanatory process once there. After that, go into your wireless network settings on your bionic and change the Voicemail settings from "my carrier" to "google voice." Not sure where this is on motoblur, but just look around and you should find it. If you get an error message or it freezes, do a reboot, go into the settings again and verify google voice is selected in the Voicemail settings. You should be okay after this.

Thanks for your help gotta it!
So caller id still shows my actual phone number and not my google voice number even when it is configured to do so. Any one else have this problem?
That error came at the point (for me) where it should automatically insert *71###-###-#### (*71 + your google number) in to the dialer to forward missed calls. So I did it manually and GVoice has worked fine for me. I did get one FC, but not sure if it was because of debloat or actual GVoice app. Other than that I have made calls, recieved Vmails and texts through GVoice just fine.

Does anyone know of a way to get visual voicemail on the LG Thrill? I have tried setting up Google Voice but never got it working properly. Is there any way? Or is there a good guide somewhere for Google voice?

When I install google voice it lets me choose it as the option for voicemail service, but I am unable to click voicemail settings. Any ideas?

Since I got my Z1s a few weeks back I've had an issue with the Google Voice app and the Z1s native phone dialer.
I have always setup the google voice app to ask me everytime I make a call whether I want it to go through google voice or not.
If I set Google voice to "ask every time I make a call" whether to choose between calling through google voice or through the stock dialer, then I cannot use the stock dialer to make a call.
The call simply does not happen and the screen goes back into the dialer as though I had not tried to make a call at all.
The only way I can have the google voice app allow the stock dialer to make calls is to set google voice to "do not use google voice to make calls".
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?
I did not have this problem on my previous phone (Xperia Z).
I am on the stock 4.4.4 ROM, rooted and deodexed, if that helps.
