[Q] any regrets?

Greetings All,
I'm on a Note 3 right now, and Monday or Tuesday it's time for my upgrade. I'm torn between a Note 4 and the Nexus 6. The last 3 devices I owned were Note 3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy S2. I'm really looking to switch it up here, and step back from Samsung for a little while. The Nexus 6 is my first choice right now, seeing as the Note 3 has me pretty spoiled with the large screen and the s-pen. I guess my question would be, since I've been seeing mixed reviews for Nexus 6 around the web, does anyone here have any regrets buying this device so far? And if so, are any regrets stone cold deal breakers, or just minor issues? I'm really looking at giving "vanilla" android (if that's even such thing on xda) a run, and I've heard that the Nexus devices have had the most and best development as far as that goes. So I guess I'm asking if there's any major problems with the Nexus 6 that is not being mentioned in a standard review, before I go scoop one up in the next day or two. Many thanks in advance...

My only gripe with this device is the poor cell signal. My phone is constantly searching for a signal and it is really impacting my battery life. Other than that I am happy with this device, hopefully T-Mobile pushes the OTA update for WiFi Calling soon.

no regrets here. want unlockable, rootable device that I can do as I want with. this is my first Nexus device. got it from Moto direct. on VZW
have generally had moto devices in the past and like their overall solid construction.
like Samsung devices but they are always a but flimsy IMHO.

None at all, I came from my 2 G3's (D850 and F460) and haven't looked back. My wife liked my Nexus so much (except the size) she wanted a Moto X 2014 so I bought her one. This so hands down my favorite phone so far

If u get the nexus use HDR+ on your camera day and night looks amazing. I thought I would miss Samsung but I don't . I miss the knock on. With the g3 but that's something I can put on the nexus

My only regret was not buying this phone sooner.

I'd only have a regret if something with otherwise the same specs but a smaller screen came out within a month of release; I guess I also regret switching to T-Mobile right before release but that's a different issue.

If you have the time to tinker and are willing to wait for things to get fixed or turned into features, this is the phone for you. If you have been using Samsung devices and think you will get anything close to the features Samsung adds, especially to their Note line, forget it. One thing the Nexus will help you see and appreciate is all the care and hard work that goes into their overlay. Things you may have thought were standard user options turn out to be features of branded manufactured phones. I have much respect for the care that Sammy and LG and even HTC puts in their phones now that I'm pure Vanilla. So, yes// there are definitely some trade offs I was unaware of.

Okay well. Right now i have the oneplus one. Its a great phone and i like it and all... But no android l support yet (no cm12s), my touch screen is going bad, support is eh... and im just wanting to buy something that has been improved over many years... And is reliable. opo is kinda new.. with a single device.
So i thought of the nexus 6. It looks and feels amazing (as i have held/saw one) scores really nice on benchmarks despite the quad hd display.
My opo currently has the bamboo back (swap cover) and its in perfect condition, should be worth a good amount, and i get paid soon. So now i am tempted to buy the nexus 6.
Afew questions.
Firstly, I am all about having fast/latest hardware, so here is where my concern comes in. Is this nexus 6 a first of a soon soc snapdragon 805? Because i remember when the nexus 5 was out, half a year later there was a much better soc snapdragon 801. I know the nexus 6 will be fast, but i am just thinking ahead..
Next, is $700+ (as i would get the 64gb one) worth it?.. Its a HUGE jump from the previous $400 32gb nexus 5.. I thought nexus devices were always going to be cheap.. I mean, a bigger screen, a better build quality and snapdragon 805.. that's about all.
Middle, Will it be worth alot by next year when the next nexus arrives? (for resale purposes)
And lastly, should i just go for the nexus 6? And stay in the nexus line.. Or wait for a snapdragon 810 model phone to release.. As 64bit is arriving this year.
PS: Is metro PCS supported?
That's about all i am wondering..

Snapdragon 810 is just around the corner, the LG G Flex 2 will be using SD 810. You can have the best hardware possible but if the software is not optimized for it then that hardware is not fully utilized to its fullest potential. In my opinion, get a phone with good development support from the community, not a phone because it has better specifications.
The question of the N6 being "worth it" is subjective and no one can answer that but yourself. You posting a thread in here will attract people say "yeah its worth it, get it ASAP" because you're in Nexus territory but if you're in the OPO territory, they would say no because OPO has a better value. Both phones have its pros and cons, the decision of whether the "N6 is worth it" is not as black and white.
Will it be worth a lot? I don't predict the future, but it most likely will retain a large % of its value. Nexus 5 is still a popular phone and people are still buying them.
Should you go for the N6? I already answered this. I personally was using the OPO and switched to a N6, the OPO community is great but it was no where as good as the Nexus line of devices. Snapdragon 810, don't really care about it unless a Nexus has its name to it.
If development is something you care about when it comes to a phone, a Nexus won't disappoint.

Not going to lie though, the opo is a great value phone where the specifications don't compromise. It's a very hot phone and the development is pretty good as I've owned one. The development is better than some of the other non nexus devices.
Essentially you're paying to have a bigger screen and front facing speakers as well as a number of other features such as turbo charger.
But you're losing, notification led (can be enabled on n6), ips for a amoled, battery life.
Opo battery life is much better than n6 by 1 hour sot in my personal experience. I still prefer the n6, I love the big size phone and I can't see myself using a screen that isn't as wide.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you. My recommendation is go to a t mobile store and play with the demo. Although, the size isn't a problem once you've used the phone for week, you get used to it.

If you can wait for a device that you like (form factor, screen, brand) that has the 810 processor in it, I would wait for that. But if you want a phone this second then the Nexus 6 is a decent choice. With that being said you have a few things to consider.
1)Curved back - For some people this is a deal breaker. Don't ask me why it just is.
2)Large size- At a whopping 5.96" it is large in the average person's hand. I have large hands so this was actually fine for me.
3)Battery life- Because of the screen size the battery life isn't best in class. I will say that it is decent though. You can check threads with users posting their SOT. I on average get about 5.5-6 hours screen on time over the course of a day. (If I ever have time to use it that much.)
But with all those things considered there are a few benefits too, which I'm sure you've heard. When it all comes down to it if you are considering the Nexus 6 the other phone you might want to consider is the Note 4. It is close to the same screen size, same processor, and same battery size. I for one thought the Nexus 6 was the better option because of the Nexus phone support and that it has a bone-stock version of Android. I can't stand Samsung's bloatware.
TL;DR:If you want a phone right now it's a good choice. If you can wait a few months, wait a few months.

There's no point waiting for a few more months, just a couple months later. the Nexus 6 will be even better because the development will be more mature in terms of custom ROMs and kernels.
Going to a phone that is a non-Nexus will have less development and the software will be more bloated with carrier apps and manufacturer skins. Once you go to a Nexus, you stay a Nexus. If a user is wanting something that works outside of the box and doesn't care too much about development then by all means go to a non-Nexus but if you care about custom ROMs and kernels then Nexus devices are the way to go.

I came from a G3 and before that a Note 3
. the Nexus 6 is by far my favorite phone. The development for it is far beyond any other device I have seen, we have kernels, ROMs and everything in between.
The size isn't bad in fact I really like how big it is. It only took a day or two to get used to. Note when I use my wife's Moto X 2014 or S5 its like looking at a iPhone 4. While here may be other devices out there shortly with the SD810 its not going to be as good without devs working on making it better. I had the G3 F460S which had the SD805 and it was much slower than the Nexus with the same processor. LG didn't optimize the chip set well enough to make it worth the upgrade over the regular G3. My antutu score with it was ~46K which is the same as the Moto X that my wife has which is 100% stock. While my G3 was rooted and tweaked with some mods at the time.
The AMOLED display looks great compared to a LCD and its very responsive.
It boils down to preference and I love my Nexus and will buy the next one as well.

Nexus phones aren't the end all be all. Usually they have the most developer support but buying something just because it's a Nexus branded phone sounds an awful lot like those "Fruit" buying fanboys that will buy anything their cult favorite company puts out.

i would also add that battery life is the most subjective issue. it literally depends on how you use the phone. if you're playing games or generally playing around with your phone, your battery life will suck. i use mine as a phone and tool for work and music in the gym and i get 2+ days of use.

If you like to tinker and have the time to spend doing so, the Nexus is the obvious choice. If on the other hand you spend more time doing things, working, recreation, socializing, then another phone will probably suit you better. Unfortunately this was my first Nexus device, and I got it thinking that it would be great to have a phone without all the carrier bloat. After getting it I found that many things I've come to consider standard in a phone, settings, options, etc. are sadly not present and probably will be in time with tinkering and trial and error, but I no longer have the time nor the patience to experiment on a device that I paid a large premium for that just seems to not only be crippled by sloppy software but also with possible hardware inconsistencies. I am lucky that I can jump any time I want and probably will here as soon as more devices come to market. But one thing the Nexus will do for you is help you to appreciate the care that other manufacturers put into their devices to support many features and options that a pure android device does not. So, with that in mind, make your won decision and live with it.

IMO, it's overpriced based on the quality of screen and some parts they used + poor QC.

I perhaps would try the LG G4. Prior to switching I had the LG G3 and it was a pretty great phone. Considering you only needed root and the exposed framework to do many cool features. Thought that it was a great concept for moving forward with devices. No longer waiting for that special ROM to come. It was truly a no hassle phone.
I'd go with the Sammy S6 edge except it is very small on screen size. But my number one concern with any phone is support for Android Auto, cause when I'm mobile, I am and want to be hands free mobile. But in my humble opinion, the Nexus is much more of a dedicated ROM, Framework, and Governor type phone which requires constant attention and tweaking by the user to get the most out of.

I love my N6 but I wish the camera was faster. The camera on the G4 is the only thing I covet

Yes, I was not at all impressed with the m9. I must admit the s6 did impress me however only 5 inches and no front facing speakers makes me not want it. I must admit I am anxiously waiting for the note 5 and what ever the next Nexus device is going to be at the end of the year. If the next Nexus is smaller than 5.5 inches I will definitely consider the Note 5.

I tend not to buy phones that are 6 months old. If it was 3 months ago, then yes.
There is nothing now that I feel would be any better either though. I'd probably be waiting until Autumn unless I had a desperate requirement

Yes, mostly because root is more and more elusive. There's so much less to worry about with a Nexus device: no need for exploits nor bootloader codes, no worries about bricking, and no lack of dev support.
That said, there are areas I would like to see improvement. Between Google and all the dev support, we don't have to wait long to see and implement them.

Coming from a S4 to this phone is like night and day. Boot loader, root, general flashing all much easier with a great forum to provide support.... whats not to love?? If none of those things matter to you then any phone would do but if you like to live a little on the edge and try new stuff.... this type of phone is a good choice.

Yes. Tired of waiting for ROMs and bootloader hacks and root access for other phones. Google gives you access to everything right out the box.

I would buy my Nexus 6 today in a heartbeat. Even though it's now an "older" device, there are many points that I love and haven't really seen in other devices. Top 5 reasons:
1. Aftermarket/community support
2. Build materials and quality (I like the plastic back with the metal frame. Might not be as "pretty" but the back is less likely to show abrasions and won't dent)
3. Lollipop/"Pure" Android (no bloat, cutting-edge software, timely updates)
4. The amazing hardware package (although we all agree the camera could be better on a device in this class)
a. awesome processors
b. lots o' RAM
c. fantastic radios (cell, GPS, BT, WiFi)
d. wonderful front stereo speakers
e. dat screen, doh
f. etc...
5. Size and shape

As others have said, I cannot go without an rooted and unlocked device. My heart would sink if i had an unmodable phone. The dev and community support is great. Other phones may have nice features here and there or higher benchmarks but if it cannot rooted and unlocked I'll pass. The manufacturers may have a their own idea of how a phone should be setup, but I don't prefer it. I want to tweak it to my liking, especially since this is primarily what in use to communicate with the world.
Just as in the plethora of ROMs available here: some are stock+ while others have a ton of features. I, fortunately, have the ability to choose which user-interface best pleases my needs.
If all phones were unlocked and rootable I would have to rethink my answer.

I did just purchase mine. Had the s6 and had to return it because of display issues and the battery life was terrible. At the store they gave me a replacement with the same display issue (pink tint on bottom 1/3 of the display, very noticable next to the display model). Looked at the g flex 2 and m9 and decided I wanted to go with this. I had been saying I was gonna get a nexus anyway but the s6's hardware was very appealing. I am not disappointed with my decision at all. I did think the battery life would be a little better on this and it does get uncomfortably toasty at times but I do love this phone.

Definitely would buy again.
1) Unlockable bootloader with so little hassle
2) Dev community
At the same time I have been putting up with a slow camera ;(

Check out the disabling services thread in general http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/disabling-google-play-services-guide-t2999821/page22 post 220 talks about disabling receivers, it refers to the google play update receivers they start with system.update. I disabled those 3 and battery life has been pretty good (along with other stuff I don't use... Fit, Kids, and such). Of course you need to be rooted to do this, I am using My Android Tools (I got the paid version but there is also a free version I think) to disable stuff. Just pay close attention to the thread and don't try to experiment.... at a minimum, you will want to have a nandroid backup before you start just incase you disable something by mistake.

in tech, its all about timing. there are 810 phones i can get today.. though i think i might be happier with the 805 than the 810, but the chips in the s6 look pretty good... i might even wait for the 6s-plus to come out if i were shopping today (if the 6 plus had 2 gigs of ram i would have gotten a 6 plus)... the phone i wanted more than anything was the droid turbo when deciding (was between nexus 6, moto x, m8 and droid turbo... so lots of moto). after seeing all the development for the nexus, i dont think i would go to another phone... but an lg nexus with ips display might be nice (dont need 4k, 1080 is fine... want a 4200 mAh battery).
and i have a feeling we are still unlocking new potential with the phone, porting moto features, getting cm implementation ironed out... lollipop is still in growing pains...

I just bought mine a couple weeks ago so I'd say yes. I was just tired of lack of root and delayed updates on the Note 4.

I got mine shortly after it launched and immediately fell in love with it. Since then I haven't had a single urge to upgrade, which is odd for me because I'm usually itching to upgrade ASAP, especially since I have T-Mobile's JUMP plan where I could upgrade every six months. Not a single phone has enticed me enough to ditch my beloved Nexus 6, every time a new phone review comes out, I'm like "meh". Even the Pixel isn't tempting me, though I'll probably get it in about six months or so when the price (hopefully) drops and the bugs have been worked out.
My roommate also had the Nexus 6 and liked it, but not nearly as much as I do. He recently upgraded to a Note 5 since his 6 randomly stopped charging and he loves it and says it's one of the best phones he's ever had (he's not a geek like me and doesn't root it or anything, although I showed him how to do it with the 6).
Shortly after I got mine, I scratched the hell out the screen while working on my parents car so there's a nice inch long semicircular scratch in the upper right hand corner of the screen, about an inch below where the battery icon is, along with a few other small scratches. Also I've dropped it a few times so the corners are scratched up (I usually have a slim bumper case on it). Also over time the heat from the battery and processor seems to have melted the glue that holds down the backplate since it bulges out towards the center of the phone on both sides. I like the phone so much that I've even considered using my jump upgrade to get a brand new one haha It's definitely the best phone during the six years that I've been using Android.
Anyone else share the same sentiments?

Due to the raving mad camera of the Pixel XL, were its screen the size of my N6, I would be ordering one. Otherwise, there's nothing out there that would make me leave my N6.

at this point, its unlikely that you will find a brand new one anywhere, unfortunately..
believe me, there are tons of nexus users who feel the same way that you do. I had no desire to get a 6p, and even less desire to get an 800 dollar Pixel xl, when this N6 still runs so great..

Yea you're probably right Luckily mine isn't that bad, the scratches on the screen are only noticeable when the screen is off.
After I posted this I saw people were signing the praises of the 6 in other threads haha.
I love the way the six looks, except I wish it was all black. I got a black skin for the back that had the nexus and M cut outs, and had a hard time finding a black bumper case with a clear back to show of the skin. I'm not really a fan of the way that the back of the pixel looks, so if I get it I will definitely be putting a slim case on it.

Yes I am, but to develop for Nougat, I needed a second phone to have a daily driver while I rework my changes for 7.0. But since my N6 being only 32 GB, and I've found a 64 GB 6P at a very good price, my N6 became my second phone.

I've been a fan of Nexus devices for several years - I've had 4, 5, 6, 7 & 10, all a pleasure to use. When the 4 came out I was happy with it, but the HD screen prompted me to upgrade to the 5. When the 6 came out, same thing - the call of the QHD was too strong...
But now I've been so happy with my N6 that I've ignored the 5X & 6P and have every intention of bypassing the Pixel. I don't like Apple products because of that company's vile ethos, and now that Google seem to be Apple wannabees it looks as if my relationship with their phones is over too. Well, at least until my N6 dies, when I'll be looking at something like the LG V20, OnePlus 4, or whatever the current similar top-spec device is at that future time.

I keep a three foot long pointed stick to fend myself against the temptation of buying a fancy new phone. But usually the reason I don't do that is because I don't want them stock, to me stock's boring, and I can't rationalize it to myself that I've paid a lot of money for a phone. Not a hobby project, just a smartphone like the kids today.
But if I want a hobby project, I'm sure as hell I don't want cyanogemod, it has more bugs than a Windows alpha leak. I've used for a year on my Note 3, it was an official cm12.1 release, and still too many bugs for my comfort. So since I have the source, and bake my own flavour, it would be a huge step back, as in backing up on a freeway measured step back to go back to hacked together more or less daily driver level roms.

I'm not a developer, just a propellorhead (I've been in mainframe tech for over thirty years), but the ability to play with the devices and have proper control is important, so any device I buy will have to be rootable. They mostly seem to be thanks to the excellent devs in this site.
P.S. It looks as if the world and his dog agree with you about Cyanogen...

Definitely, it's just a great device in many aspects. The screen size is a matter of taste of course, but perfect for me since I do a lot of office stuff during commutes. The 5+ hours of screen time gets me well through the day, and front speakers are easy to get addicted to as well
The only thing I think about sometimes is that it's a tad bit heavy when holding it for longer periods of time. Don't know if it's heavier than other phones with similar screen sizes? Still, I'm camping for at least another year, or until it breaks and can't be repaired.

My very first "smart phone" was the release of the T-Mobile G1, and fell in love with Android. Been on numerous devices since then but the day I picked this up it was incredible. It actually fit my hands. To date my favorite device and my daily driver. My 6p is still in its box as a backup.

There are still brand new in box N6's on ebay. They may be getting harder to find, but they do exist.
But anyway, I still love the heck out of my N6 even after 18 months of use. My battery % rarely goes below 60%, so my battery should last a good long while. I'm in no rush to get a new phone. It's lightning quick with Nougat and does everything I need.

Yep you can get bnib N6 XT1103 for 259.00 on EBay. Thought about buying one for a spare. Its a solid device still.

What was funny was I went on a job interview yesterday and one of the guys had a Nexus 6 and he was saying how much he loved it hahaha

I'm sure many will disagree with me and that's fine but my only complaint is the size. It is larger than I'd prefer. If it were the size of a moto X pure or 5" that would be good. Even maybe 5.5 but nearly at 6" it's too large.
If I get the Pixel I would get the smaller one. I'm done with the huge phones. Just isn't practical for me.

I'm still happy about this phone but I still want to replace is sometime soon. Hopefully the Huawei mate 9 will be good and also have a 6 inch screen. Just cant go back to a smaller size.

For me, my big problem is that i still can say a big "yes", is all that i need... and is a problem. I don't like 6p and pixel XL (3 years with a phone >=5.7, i'm not confortable with any smaller), they are too... how to say, similar to others. My N6 is diferent, isn't soo square as others. Ok, i don't have fingerprint, slow-mo camera... but i use my charger qi when i arrive at work, my screen is, for me, best i ever seen in a phone, FRONT SPEAKERS!!!!!!, there are 2 ways to see a video, with our phone, and the others. Camera, for me works too fine, hdr+ is incredible, ok, in low-light isn't perfect but... it isn't a professional camera.
Maybe i ask too much, but i can't see any phones that offers me enought reason to change my phone :S. 64bits SoC... well, to work i use my laptop, i won't install my work-software on it, i still don't need it. 3GB ram... without comments, offer the same. So... when appears any really different i will think on that, meanwhile i'm in love with my nexus and my android black bumper

still loving this device. i got the 32 gig, and i constantly think about getting a 64, even though my phone is in perfect shape. got it from pre-order, and i'm hoping that it lasts another year or 2.
dont think ill be able to go back to anything less than 5.7" display, and dual front facing stereo speakers is on my checklist, which no one seems to offer any more, if i were to get a new phone.
the antennas also seem to be really good, but i had an antennagate iphone 4 for 4.5 years.
the design is really sleek, no weird bumps or panels. the phone came at a great time to remain competitive, since it was before the 810 fiasco, and seems like our 805 can support daydream. still unhappy we havent been able to get slo-mo working (since the oneplus 1 has the same sensor with slo-mo)

Bought the phone right after its launching. Still runs strongly.
Iam a savvy guy on smartphone changing device every year. However after Nexus 6, I can't find any other comparable phone with wireless changing, dual front facing speaking and slim bezel. Hopefully the next pixel could achieve something like that. Price is really not a issue as long as it is a solid one.

As long as they continue to update the 3t the way they are, I'll be keeping mine for a while. Phone works great, looks great and I'm experiencing great battery life on the stock rom

I'm simply in love with mine. It has AMOLED display, hardware that secures future, good camera.
This can be told about many phones, but... Do they have so frequent software updates? Beta twice a month! Actually, developers are listening to people's opinions (obviously can't listen to everyone).
From what I've seen, many people who changed their phones from s7e/nexus to OP3T are really content with it.
Battery life is another great thing, it easily goes through a day and charges so quickly!

If you don't need a new phone urgently, you might as well wait for the next OnePlus phone. As much as we don't want to face it, OnePlus is likely going to put development for the 3/3T on the back-burner once the next generation of phones are released (looking at you, OP2). That said, the OP3/T is certainly an excellent device and worth its current price.

I upgraded from the S7 edge to the 3t (like 2weeks ago) and I love this phone. Way ahead of the game, not a single particle of lag. That said, I will probably upgrade once the 5 comes out; as I love having the latest tech, but yeah. Getting this phone right now was worth it for me.

Just 2 features i really miss front stereo speakers and camera everything else is perfect for me

Best supported phone ive ever owned. Even with the nexus one, support from google still doesnt compare to oneplus.

Uhm, no idea.
I justified spending 400+ EUR on the 3T, because I thought at the time that I'm going to keep it for at least two years. And now I'm tempted to upgrade to the 5, because fsck yeah, this phone is awesome, can't wait for the next model. I'll just give this to someone in the family.

I looked to upgrade to something else but seriously - there's nothing else out there. It's at the top of it's game. Get it now, or if not in hurry for a few months. Wait.

It's all just rumor at this point. No announcement yet. And manufacturers usually don't tip their hand too early. Doing so would not only potentially damage the sales of the current device, but also may give their competition an edge.
I've seen some stories around that state that Samsung is buying up all the Snapdragon 835 supply. And being the Android market juggernaut, most (all?) other manufacturers are going to have to wait to get the 835. This alone may cause OnePlus to delay a launch.

The OP3T is amazing and I think OP5 will be even more. If you aren't in a hurry, would be nice to wait.

OP3t is a great device. Even if OP stops updates at nougat, the dev support will continue.
Look at the OPO, it has perfect nougat ROMs that are current. The OP3t will continue on with devs, cause it's a solid built device (as was the OPO). The OP2 had no nfc and the crap 810 cpu, and still solid on dev support.

I currently have a Note 5 and am looking to pick up another device for some additional R00T fun. My ONLY concern is the 1080p screen. I know this sounds absurd but we've been spoiled with 1440p. Can you really actually see a noticeable difference?

I understand you haha. I was a little worried myself, as a lot of people hyped it "down" .
Honestly, Samsung has the best screens any phone manufacturer can have. Comparing both, I noticed that the colors looked better on the S7 edge, and that the S7's screen gets brighter. Are those deal breakers? Absolutely not. The screen is great and 1440 p is not different compared to 1080p .
It'll definitely take the screen downgrade for a absolutely lagfree device. It's been almost 2 weeks and not a single app, or animation has lagged. Also battery life is great. Damn I still feel like I'm not using this device to its full capabilities lol

With how things are going, they seem to have found the hardware they really love, so they're developing their software now. I think they want to love their software as much as their hardware, so they may be sticking with the 3t. Look how many special editions are coming out, they got an otterbox deal and they acrually ship on time now.

If you want to use some vr hardware, then yes, 4k is better. Otherwise 1080p is faster to drive, and uses less power. So it's a trade-off.

I would get it definitely. Well i already did actually. Great phone I love it definitely worth the money and had a great supporting dev community. And if your worried about oneplus stopping updates it's no big deal cause there a lots of custom roms for this phone and there is a great community surrounding it.
