Gents, good evening.
I already made my homework about rooting and limitations, but one question remais uncleared for me.
I know there's some differences between the international I9000 and the Brazilian I9000B, but, after rooting, will a I9000 rom (stock of modified) work on my I9000B phone?
I don't care about loosing the TV facility, but, as I'll use the phone in different countries in Latin America, I need to keep the 3 band 850/1900/2100 for 3G connection.
Thanks for your help on this.
Regards,
I've tried to flash this "[ROM][FROYO] Tayutama Edition v1.0.0 [I9000XXJPM]" in my i9000B (vivo) and it wasn't a good expirience!
After rebooting, touchscreen stoped working, actually it almost work, I
had to touch a bunch times to get a response!
I had a hard work to flash my official ROM again!
Definitly there is something incompatible with our brazilian model!
I think we will have to wait the official update, there is a buzz that
samsung brazil will release on dezember (it's hard to believe, lol).
Want an advice: be patiente and wait the official update (through Kies).
Regards
No,
I Have de same problem when installed voodoo. Bad touch screen sensivity, no Digital TV, no Bluetooth.
I9000B and I9000 hardware are diferent.
Waiting for voodoo release or oficial froyo release.
Tks
Alex
Sad to know, the same model is being released in many south american countries, it was just released in argentina, and I was considering it, but if no custom roms work, it will be hard tio part with my nexus
Does anyone have the Brazilian stock rom (unbranded)?
I bought mine from Claro and after 3 days struggling with that f*cking Yahoo search bar and no GMAIL app I decided to flash a new firmware and the only unbranded I found for the I9000B was from Argentina, which works pretty well but I’d prefer a Brazilian one.
If no firmware is available, just the Product Code of an unbranded I9000B to use with Kies will do the job.
Thanks again
Regards,

Christian, to root, you should google "how-to-root-and-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-with-a-single-click"
I used it with no problems ans worked smoothly in my I9000B, but as I'm a new user, I'm not allowed to post websites.
Cheers
I f'ed up my phone

In the thread: [Q] Help Rooting the Brazilian SGS (GT I9000B)
Go to page 12, there you'll find links for Brazil/TIM firmware (I tested and it worked fine) and Argentina/Unbranded (Which I decided to keep and use, as it has no operators crap and both, system ans Swype, have portuguese as option).

still only 2.1, right ?
and NO 2.2 on the horizon, much less custom roms ?
i still don't know if there are no custom stuff, cause theres little comunity, or because samsung has to release sources or something like that.
What about now?
Hello,
I just bought my brand new CLARO SGS I9000B (US$ 370 / R$ 600, plans attached). I always was a smartphone freedom enthusiast and i had a few HTC models and an jailbroken iPhone.
My frist question is:
- Is there any hardware LIMITATION in the Brazilian version of SGS? (i know there are some differences, but i want to know about restricting differences).
The second question is:
- How can I ger rid of all BRANDS and SOFTWARE BLOCKS in order to FULLY USE ALL ANDROID 2.1 GREAT SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS?
Third question:
- Is there any Froyo stable version in any SGS model?
If anybody needs me to test something reasonable to reach answers, please ask me!
Thank you for your attention!

Hi!
I am new to this site and it's the first time for me trying to downgrade my phone back to Android 2.3.5 which my phone came with. I can't find a ROM suitable for my phone (Galaxy Note N7000). I live in Sweden and the only one I could find was with the operator "Tre".
Is it okay for me to use this ROM although I'm not with that company or can You guys with greater knowledge help me find one? Is there another way to downgrade perhaps?
Thanks in advance!
Ideally you can install that rom.. It just comes with extra apps specific to that carrier. Just make sure to do a backup of current rom before.
hello everyone
i like to start of with sayin hello to everyone and appreciate all the help i receive.
i have a Samsung galaxy s3 mini for 2yr and im in uk and i been seeing other phones running newer firmwares like lollipop and it feels and looks nice and would like it on mine. My s3 mini is currently running android version 4.1.2 and its been like that since new and doubt it get any updates now,
can i update this to a newer firmware please and a step by step process thanks as ok ish with phones know basic stuff but not a genius.
once again thank you all
yes you can. the phone will need to be rooted, custom recovery installed & a couple of other tools on pc,ie odin. there are many great guides & tutorials in these forums, so have a look around, read a little learn a lot, like we all did. decide on which rom works the best for you and go with that one(that will be the best rom),dont ask!!!!!. follow all instructions carefully & most of all...enjoy the ride... if you have any difficulty then just ask
Hello thank you.
I'm typing this from my s3 mini. It has been rooted with kingroot the rooting is ok now needed to allow permission.
So it's ok for a Uk Samsung galaxy s3 mini be updated to later firmware. I read couple guides on here with the cynam rom.
Has is got to be done by odin?.
I also read that can be done with rom manager app is this true?.
What is the latest and stable firmware for samsung galaxy s3 mini GT- i8190n?
Also erm What's a kernel and has that got to be done?
On the downloads page I choose my model and cyamogen then is it recovery or odin I download?
Thank you to everyone

Hi guys,
I wanted to root my samsung galaxy s5 at&t (sm-g900a) (android version: 5.0) so I could re-calibrate the battery. However after hours of research I myself have come to the conclusion that it is impossible. So in a last ditch attempt to try this incredible task I am posting here to find out once and for all is it impossible.
Thanks in advance.
(PS: If it is possible could anyone help me or link me to a guide, however I doubt it is)
At this point its doubtful, maybe the method for doing it to the Snapdragon S7's would work. Not sure if the Engineer file is device specific.
Greetings friends of this great community and millions of thanks anticipated for all his great contributions in the world of Android.
Today I've been asking for help since I've browsed full internet looking like updating my Galaxy tab P1000N. Which currently has firmeware 2.2
Has baseband: P1000ZHJL1, kernel [email protected] # 1 and Build Number is FROYO.ZHKA1
Is movistar operator. And currently only has English and Japanese language.
I would like to ask for this great acer help from my tablet. That are no longer running the apps for the system that is already obsolete. And as they know this tablet is old but very good quality.
I thank them for everything they could do for me.
PD: eh looked several tutos to install cynagomd but you do not convince me. That's why I come here to be the root and are the best in this.
