I'm not on the Moto X anymore, but my sister is. She claims that on KitKat, she had it set so that if someone called twice in succession while in silent mode, her phone would ring for the second call. Now on Lollipop she can't find that option. Is this no longer possible, and if it is, how can she do this?

Verizon Developer Edition. Unlocked. Rooted. Kitkat 4.4. I've only had this phone a few days but today I noticed very erratic behavior in receiving calls. Incoming calls don't ring, don't vibrate, don't show up as missed calls. I tried uninstalling Xposed and Gravity. No change. Tried switching ringtones. Tried calling from two different phones.. Tried switching from "Global" to "CDMA/LTE" network. Tried de-activating Sleep Control. Tried turning Airplane Mode on and off. Tried multiple reboots. Tried Bluetooth on and off. I can't figure this out. Maybe 1 call in 5 rings through. The others go to Google Voice mail with no indication that my phone is ringing. I can call out just fine so I don't think its cause I'm in some kind of dead zone. I think this behavior might have started after installing Gravity, but it persists even with Gravity not running and Xposed uninstalled. Any ideas?

The two phones (home landline and wife's iPhone) that my Moto X wasn't taking incoming calls from, are working again (for the moment at least). Apparently what fixed it was turning off data on my Moto X and then turning it back on again. Or maybe it was me calling *78 and then rebooting. Or maybe it was me calling those phones from my Moto X. Or some combination of the above. Go figure..
This sucks. Moto Assist allowed me to set my sleep time so that someone would have to call me twice from the same number w/in 5 minutes for them to get my phone to ring. That was perfect.
That has apparently been eliminated in 5.1 so that now only priority notifications get through and they get through on the first try if you select your downtime settings and have starred a contact. The problem I have with that is that I don't want to "star" any of my family members as they are the worst offenders in calling me when I am sleeping. But I do want them to be able to get through to me in an emergency and what I have instructed them to do is to call twice w/in 5 minutes to get through to me during my sleeping hours if it is an emergency.
Can I use tasker or some other app to get back the Moto Assist option that is now gone from Moto Assist?
Autoring is supposed to do what you want, I haven't tried it with my MotoX.
I've used Do Not Disturb in the past and it does what you want.
You can also create a Tasker profile that will do this. Basically you set up a simple "silence when asleep" profile, then add another profile that disables Silent mode for a few minutes when you receive a call.
Edit: Also, I haven't tried it on the Moto X, but with the Tasker profile you may need to create a "delay" for the incoming call. On some phones the profile will work such that it rings for those emergency numbers as the tasker wiki describes, which is not what you want. On others it doesn't ring for the incoming call that triggers the exception but instead rings for the next call.
Ever since Lollipop I have been frustrated with the lack of ability to turn off the phone's vibrate easily. I used to just set my phone to silent mode all the time (in fact, all day at work). Now my phone is probably louder than it would be otherwise simply because it's vibrating my whole freaking desk every time a notification comes across. I tried using tasker to just lower the volumes but you still can't turn off the vibrate. How in the world can I get this phone to simply show the notifications on the screen (or my Moto 360) without sound and without vibrating?
Also just to add, if I set my priority to None, it will be silent and still show the notifications on the screen, but then they won't show on my Moto 360. Ugh.
For 360-only notifications: Android Wear app -> Settings -> Mute phone alerts & calls
This way, your phone will be silent and your 360 will function as normal. However, this won't stop your 360 from vibrating.
I previously had the LG G4 which had android 6.0. I used to be able to talk on the phone and receive emails, texts, and other notifications silently (meaning I get a beep in my ear but the phone didn't vibrate and my caller never heard my notifications.
Now I have the new LG G6, which has Android 7.0 and every time I get a notification while on a phone call, my caller hears a loud sound (the vibration) and asks me "what was that?" It even vibrates on my face while I'm talking.
I am unable to figure out a way to disable this in the audio settings. Can someone please provide a fix for me please?
I have been using Pixel 7 for a few months now and am facing this issue since the day I have got this device. I am not sure what is causing this issue. I tried going through all the settings, developer options, custom rules, notification settings for Whatsapp but couldn't find anything.
THE ISSUE - The device works perfectly fine when I get a normal phone call, which means it rings if the phone is on ring mode when I receive a normal call. Where as for a whatsapp call (Audio/Video), even if the phone is on ring mode, it rings for a second and then immediately switches to silent mode. This means if I get a call over WhatsApp, then after that my phone will remain silent until I manually turn it back to ring mode by clicking on volume button and changing the setting. AI have to do this every single time when I get a WhatsApp call so that I don't miss out my next normal call.
I tried uninstalling the beta version, but it behaves the same way for the regular whatsapp as well. I would appreciate if anyone here could help me with this issue which has become a pain now.
