Effects don't work on the front camera. - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

They were working fine when I first got the phone. Then I went and installed some effects more from the galaxy store and now on the front camera when click the magic wand icon, it just doesn't open anything. It just shows a click circle behind the wand as if I have clicked it. And nothing opens. On the back camera the effects open still without any issues.

How do you access gallery from landscape view in the camera?

Okay so I'm in the market for a Moto X and was messing with it at the store. Seems like a nice little package. I did run into one thing that bothered me.
When in the camera app in portrait view after taking a picture to preview the picture I just took is a simple swipe from the right side in to open the gallery. All good and dandy. Unfortunately most of the pictures I take are from the landscape orientation and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to bring up the gallery from that position without having to go back to portrait orientation. Am I doing something wrong?
It seems silly to me why they would move the buttons for settings and gallery when you rotate the phone. They should of kept the position the same no matter which way you hold it. Seems inconvenient to have to keep rotating the phone every time you want to preview your pic. As well as this phone is designed if there is no way to bring up the gallery from landscape mode I got to think they missed one there.
It works in both landscape and portrait for me, but I am running a leaked version of android 4.4. So more then likely if the current version doesn't support it 4.4 will when it is released.
you just swipe when in landscape also. i do it daily as i rarely take portrait pics. i dunno why you werent able to. you do need to swipe from the edge of the camera. not the edge of the screen. as the edge of the screen is the navbar and not the camera. hope that makes sense.
Thanks bud. I just watched a YouTube review of the phone and saw how to do it.
It is still a swipe from the right. Problem was I was doing it from the bezel and it kept pulling up some google feature. You still do it from the right only the swipe should start from just to the left of the home button. I swear I did that at the store but I must of been too close to the home button. Oh well, I still think they should of left it in the same place whether it is in portrait or landscape but I guess I'm no engineer.
I was in the tutorial mode though and in portrait it had a preview where it said settings on the left and gallery on the right. When in landscape though settings was still on the left but the gallery was NOT on the right and that threw me off.
Thanks.
Anytime. And that Google feature is Google now. If you buy android, or a new android if you currently use old android, you will want to use it. Its really cool.

[Q] Module to change camera hardware button. or to change to another camera

So my device comes with a camera hardware button and i dont use my stock camera anymore. Is there anything that changes this to something else. Im currently using google camera. I don't like the stock kitkat camera and on top of that when i choose settings inside the camera app i get a forced closed which one reason i dont use it. But im open to use another camera if it will open with the stock camera button. Ill even deal with changing the camera button to a flashlight or something. I just feel its a huge waste to have a dead hardware button on my phone. Its like a pet peave i guess.
Thanks
Josh

Camera Surround Shot Mode causes crash

The "Surround Shot" mode for my SamsungCamera2.apk causes it to crash. I can make the Panoramic pictures that involve moving the camera left or right but not the 360 degrees ones where you center the camera along a sphere. The camera just crashes each time I attempt to enter Surround Shot mode.
I've tried to switch the camera.apk with a modified one but that still caused the same crash. Anyone have any suggestions for fixing this or a better 360 degrees camera app?
I'm running 5.0.2 on Aurora-Note3-Full-G9200-Port.

camera app changed?

Something happened to my camera app, not exactly sure when. The desktop icon changed. And it is no longer linked to google photos... also in google photos I don't find a setting to add a direct connection. So maybe google photos changed (also)? Can someone confirm or explain this? Am I missing something? Swiping to the left used to get me into google photos and review pictures right after they were taken. Now swiping just moves between mode selection, camera and video. I am running Oreo 8.0 Feb.1 patch on a rooted US AndroidOne X4
The camera app just updated.
And now it no longer couples to google photos? That's some improvement...
there is some problem in video recording mode for 1080p60fps
normal and wide angle icons works in opposite way
if u press on wide angle icon, u get narrow field of view
and if u press normal icon, u get a little wide field of view

[Guide] Wide angle Video Recording.

Dial *#*#1597#*#* on the dialer this will open the camera app. Switch to video mode, Click on the red letter on the right top Lens: Back (Dual)(0) double click on that until you get the Lens: Back (Wide)(3) . Recording works fine from there, but need to do the same every time you need the wide angle.
Thanks!! It works! You rock man!
This is actually super good alternative until Oneplus let us do it by default. Thank you.
The wide lens can only record at 1080p?
The quality in lower light is worse than default video, obviously. But great to have! Someone needs to make a shortcut or something that jumps straight into this, until OnePlus gives us the ability.
Looks like you can just double tap anywhere to switch which camera is used. Seems like this is debug mode for the Camera app. I wonder if this has been includes since 9.5.0 or recently added. Indicating OnePlus indeed started working on this feature.
