Will try this rom and give you a feedback ...
Hi, I wanna give you a quick feedback after 1 hour on the thor rom...
1) after the installation (did a factory reset) it comes with a bluethoot error and the service doesnt work.
I did a restart and switched it on ... off ... on ...off the first and secound time bluethooth seems to work (but did'nt make a link) but after that the service didnt come back.
2) After I switch off the display I have to reboot to get it back. So I only get a blackscreen with backlight.
3) Rotation works well but a few apps rotate in the wrong direction. But this is not a big thing!
4) Batteryusage didnt show apps and the graphic locks buggy
this are my first impressions

- To be honest I developed this on apollo
- Didn't really test much on thor so probably problems in the kernel causing blackscreen for thor
- seems to work flawlessly on apollo
- will look into thor issues before next build
- thanks for the early feedback
- updated op known issues

Excellent work @ggow, I just dirty flashed Apollo version, and must say I am pretty impressed, everything vent smoothly, the only FC I get was from clock app, but that was expected... :good:
Is there any recommended xposed version working with this ROM?
So far I found one small graphic glitch, you can see it on attached picture (you can see only half of the first notification)...
OK that's all for now, going to test how fast this can burn through hdx battery, so far every LP ROM I tested on my phones was really power hungry...
I've tried this ROM.. smooth as hell...
but if I not geting wrong, no LTE...( I am on Apollo)
Is that right? Or I made something wrong...

- OTG support isn't available at least at the moment.
- Not completely certain what the story is with OTG on Apollo and Thor
- I have seen various comments about this
- Some have said it might be a limitation of the hardware or a limitation imposed from the bootloader.
- Needs investigating to be sure of what can be done.
well xposed for LP actually works

I just had to try it and it's working!
So if anyone wants to try xposed for lollipop, go for it (make sure you don't have any "xposed leftovers" from KitKat like me (gravity box i. e.) and uninstall them first)
be sure you did nandroid backup in TWRP before you flash xposed for lollipop in TWRP (yes, framework needs to be flashed)
I used xposed-v73-sdk22-arm.zip
Reboot into ROM and install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
That's it, happy hacking...
YouTube in FullHD
And I don't know what magic @ggow did this time, but we finally have here YouTube app where we can choose 1080p streaming ! Yay! This just made my day!
Or Google finally allowed this for every mobile users in latest YouTube app? Anyone on CM11 or Nexus 4 can check if its there too?

Yes, I need to try and port Dolby Digital to KitKat, version 1.2 will not work with this ROM. The dolby port is low on my priority list as I want to finish the new version of Safestrap.
Nice work! AOSP is always my favourate!

Hi ONYXis, yes adb seems to be working on the new version - "adb devices" responded.
I'll try it out right away.
Can you post you donations PayPal link to the first post?
EDIT: Installed it. Bugs will go into the bug report section, but theese things are working for me.
Bluetooth: Iø'm able to connect to my Jabra headsets with easypairing, and get audio. I can turn wifi/bt on and off. Touchscreen runs smoothly and PlayStore is working.
Thank you, ggow!! I am truly excited about this release following a fantastic experience with Nexus v2.0.5. CMxx is great but I prefer something closer to AOSP.
Installed v4.0.1 morning w/o incident. Boots clean and complete with the 'right' options enabled by default. A few quick observations:
- effortless flashing from twrp (I know this isn't rom related but attests to integrity of package)
- fast startup! Didn't think anything could be quicker than Nexus v2 (after exiting bootloader); v4 beats it by a small margin
- smooth, accurate screen response; easily navigated through various settings with no snags
- wifi and bt both enable/disable quickly and reliably. No issues connecting a BT device that required authentication
- observations are with a 'clean' install; might try dirty build later for those interested in a more seamless upgrade
Unfortunately, I am traveling through the weekend with limited 'play time' (d'oh!). Will provide additional feedback in bugs section as needed. Something tells me not much is going to land there.

DOOOH! Sorry about that.. :/
Edit: I have been using the tablet for almost a day now. BT streaming is perfect, there *might* be some issues with AVRCP - but I have not confirmed that yet. DeepSleep is working perfect, it enters deepsleep as expected. Charging via USB depends on the load on the tablet - if load is too much it will not charge. AC doesn't have issues.
..next try to pair with ELM327 dongle and Holux M1200E GPS.

Are you using the new 4.5.4 kernel sources?
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war,
* or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research
* if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This ROM is an unofficial build on CyanogenMod 12.1. Originaly (back in November 2014), the project was only about the kernel but I thought that a full ROM might a better.
So, why would you install this ROM ?
The main reason would be to upgrade significantly the kernel :
- get rid of the old LNX.LA.3.5.1 kernel base (from February 2014) and switch to a brand new LA.BF lollipop base
- to get a smoother experience of CyanogenMod
- to enjoy some CAF taste in all of his glory
- if you are an enthusiast
This ROM uses custom HALs so I'm not responsable of incompatibility with eventual custom kernels and I won't "Add support"
ROM Features :
- Based off latest generic CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly source
- OTA updates via built-in CMUpdater (LZMA Compressed)
- Vanilla CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 display HAL (improved display performance)
- Vanilla CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 media HAL (improved video performance)
- Vanilla CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 audio HAL (improved audio performance)
- Latest Motorola LPB23.13-37 5.1 Vendor Files
- Latest kernel.org f2fs binaries
- Vanilla CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 Media Codecs / Audio Policy / Bluetooth configs
- LZMA Compressed recovery images
- QCOM Bionic Optimizations
Kernel Features :
- Based off latest CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 kernel source from Qualcomm
- As clean as possible, it matches CAF
- Vanilla CAF LA.BF.1.1.1.c5 Wi-Fi Prima driver (better wifi performance)
- Uses ZEN i/O Scheluder by default
- First Lollipop Overclock
- Underclocking
- Smartmax Governor
- My own akm8963 driver re-work for LPM/HBM mode
- The best is in comming
But, why is it in alpha ?:
It's in alpha state because not many people tested it and maybe there are some unknown bugs.
Speaking of bugs here they are :
Code:
[B]Known bugs[/B]
- 5 sec blackscreen at boot (doesn't affect bootime) [B][COLOR="red"][/COLOR]the first boot blackscreen is even longer so just wait and it will boot, builds or tested do not worry[/B]
- Offline charge is broken (same reason as blacksreen)
I released even if those bugs because they doesn't break the ROM experience itself (and because I wait for realeasing this ROM since ages)
They will, of course, fixed as soon as possible.

How to install ?
If you are coming from an official CM12.1 Nightlies you should dirty flash (flash my ZIP on top of your existing rom without too much issues). If you encounter any issues (report and) do the method detailled bellow.
1) Place ROM & Gapps in your virtual SD
2) Reboot in Bootloader Mode
3) Go to "Recovery" (Vol -) and confirm (Vol +)
4) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Wipe Dalvik cache
6) Install the ROM zip
7) Install the Gapps zip
8) Install SuperSU zip
9) Reboot

It's fully stable, you just don't see 5 sec from the bootanimation.
I will install it and try it but I need to charge my Moto G Good job !!!
Damn, bootanimation doesnt show at all, i reflashed three times thinking something was wrong, and i lost patience thinking my phone turned off after google logo, but it booted. It works great btw, stable and all, and overall fast. Nice work. Now just remove the stupid cm theme engine and implement layers, and you have most custom unoffical cyanogenmod rom.

Yeah, the bootanimation bug is annoying, but you'll see that you get just a 5 sec blackscreen on reboots. It was just the first boot xD
Hmmm ... I don't think I will remove the CM Theme Engine : as I said, this project wasn't a ROM originally (I made a ROM to avoid HAL issues actually) I just wanted to make big background optimizations. So on the apparence/look part, I won't differ from CM.
My opinion (is still black screen after flashing). Just make optimizations and don't change the features or other things. To be just an optimized CM 12.1 ROM.

Yes it should be supported
It's normal don't worry
Hi,
I installed all my apps about 30 apps and every app work without problems fc or other problems except one: Zonga - it's a music streaming app developed by Vodafone Romania and in other ROMs it's working but here it doesn't have sound and If I press play doesn't play from first I need to skip the track and the next one plays without music.
I will attach soon a logcat.
PixN Rom** Theme friendly ** Better Camera ** exFAT ** Optimized kernel ** Substratum ** Clang ** Custom Settings **
This is my daily driver which I update occasionally depending on weather I need/want new features. There won't be any OTA's because of work. Do please also check the Credits section, and the Screenshots tab.
I do not have a single sim device, however I have compiled kernels for the single sim and dual sim variant both.
The kernel thread has now been split to be here since the kernel gets more updates than the rom (for now atleast).
This project has been renamed to show the my first forays into more *real* development.
Please use the Feature Request tab for feature inclusion requests.
It's also very hard to keep track of bugs reported here in the comments so please, again, use the bug reports tab...
I'm very thankful to everyone commenting, it's just hard to keep track sometimes, and seeing as DevDB has all the features required...
Since I also use XDA Labs which has no DevDB support it'd be best to comment AND add the comment in the required DevDB tab..

Please feel free to report more bugs, or even request more features but I'm not a dev so, no guarantees.
Installation Instructions
Eventually these will be flashable zips, however right now they're causing an error (IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device)
So for now install by fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_3.0.2.img
I don't recommend wiping userdata via fastboot so if you want you can always factory reset or clear Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from TWRP.
EDIT:- People having trouble flashing the system.img should try with mfastboot (fix found by @katibehi)
Downloads
The DevDB downloads are for the system.img and boot.img files only. They're in 7z cuz otherwise I can't upload them.
Get the latest kernel from the PixN kernel thread here.
Beta Release 1.999
This is in the DevDB download. The changelog is incorporated into the feature list.

Beta Release 3
MAJOR RELEASE. Go get it.
Beta Release 3.1
Bugs squashed. Notably the reboot.
Beta Release 4
Biggest YET!! Most feature complete rom around.
Beta Release 5
Bigger than ever (feature wise). First and only 7.1.1 build for our devices. Happy New Year!
Sadly this release is not on DevDB.. Since DevDB won't finish attaching files as of 1st Jan and I don't even know if it'll be back. I'm really hoping for a basketbuild account, cuz then I'll be able to serve OTA's. Anyway.
For now due to popular demand this release, Release 5 is uploaded to MEGA.
Beta Release 5.5
Still on MEGA.
The link to the folder is here
Beta Release6, 7
Mega again... Until DevDB is back up assume all future releases to be on MEGA for now.

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}.
A4: Not surprising, nougat is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe this isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using Xposed. Not out for nougat yet.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please mention the kernel version and any additional files you flashed. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Sure! Whatever you can. This takes a lot of time. Apparently not.
Q10: What is this "sdclang" thing?
A10: CM is using a optimized version of the clang/llvm compiler for official builds of Qualcomm devices. I'm using it for my own builds. See these links here and here.
I've depreciated this to move to Clang 3.9 (newer).

Well.... I'd suggest you wait for a while after the reboot.. Then try the internal camera in WhatsApp... That works for me..
Though the camera problem is basically across all aosp builds until Sony or cyanogenmod or someone fixes it...
First of all thanks for your great effort! this rom is amazing.
Well time to report.
First, battery life is quite amazing, over 5 hours of sot. (around 3 in stock rom)
Second, the 64gb sd card won't get recognized... but on the other hands 32 gb one works well.
Regards,
Jerry
P.s. if you would like to solve the camera issue try to dig into @infected_'s repo... His roms had solved the camera problem.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely look into it
I'm not sure why the 64 gb cards don't work...
I'm not having issues with my 128gb sd card but it did format it before it would work..
Has it offered to format the sd card?
EDIT: @infected_ also seems to have used the same sonyAOSP repositories for his aosp build...
It's unlikely but maybe a different tool chain might help... I'll check. Also they seem to be all marshmallow builds... That might also be behind their camera working better...
camera isnt working yet on AOSP, on the kitakami/msm8994 family and all others. with some hacks msm8974 was taking pictures, but nothing stable.
regards.
What about the battery life during the night for you ?
It started from 82% at 2:00 AM, and now it's at 65%...

Yikes, that seems really awful. I'd suggest you use naptime for aggressive doze.
You could also try the doze app which stops background data for chosen apps...
With naptime installed you should get much better battery life...
Did you clean flash this?

Which system are you coming from?
I think that error probably has to do with the larger size of the system image because of gapps being included..
Are you trying a full wipe?
finly i flashed it every think is good but camera dosent work. for now i come back to stock.camera important for me.thanks for your work
Is it possible to make this compatible with the E6653 device? The rom loads perfectly on my phone, only thing not working is my SIM card because I dont have a DSDS phone.

Yup it is possible and I'll release a working boot.img for the e6653 with the next release (hopefully today itself)
Actually the delay is because I'm compiling with uber but my first build was laggy as hell.

Actually trying that one now, funnily enough it's not detecting my SIM card either. Never had this issue before, might be because I am in Australia.

Haha, you have no idea how excited I am right now. Eagerly awaiting that upload. Soon as it's up, I'll load it up and if all works well I'll use it for a while and give you some feedback.
Unfortunately the CM 14.1 ROM that was posted (which is for the E6653) cant detect my SIM either, lot of other people are having that issue too. Hopefully yours will be that stock experience I'm looking for.

Ok, so I installed Doze, Greenify (without Xposed, hope that it will be compatible with Android Nougat soon ), and NapTime. Without effect, always 2-3% drain per hour.
I realized that my device won't deep sleep, it was always in activity even when I wasn't using it.
I searched for wakelocks, and noticed that Google services were faulty. I disabled some of them after searched online, and it's better
I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

I believe the sim detection in @fergy's rom has been fixed by him.. check the last posts in that thread...
I do honestly believe aosp is doing better than cm-14.1 at the moment, mostly because CMTE hasn't been doing well on the newer CM roms while Substratum is working really well...
I'm uploading a single sim kernel to release 1. Since the Uber builds are being more trouble than help...
Test it and tell me how it goes...

On release 2 (testing) with the Uber toolchain, Open Camera works... however the rom is overall very laggy using uber...
So I'll be looking into other opportunities...
By the way, have you found any non-stock rom (AOSP,CM etc) here or elsewhere with a working msm8994 camera?
If yes please link the repos here, I'll gladly try to incorporate it.
THERE WILL BE NO MORE UPDATES HERE!
This thread hasn't been updated in a while as I'm working on mainline support and a kernel 5.10 release for the Note 10.1. There are excellent releases of Android 9+ from @html6405 now and I don't intend on updating this thread. I'll leave everything as is, but don't expect me to view this thread on a regular basis. Most questions are already answered, use the search.
For the new mainline kernel version, please don't ask for any ETAs, there's still some things to be fixed before there will be an official release and I have a normal life to take care off.
If you have experience with kernel / ROM development and want to help me out? Leave me a message, I'd appreciate any helping hand no matter how much you can contribute, every little bit helps. Even looking at the device tree and giving me hints would be great as I would still consider myself being intermediate at best at putting everything together, it's just a lot to dig into with the little time I have.

Hi, I'm currently trying to get this device officially supported again as I really love it and it never let me down in the last 5 or so years. It still works amazingly fast and I have no need to replace it with anything else.
As I'm a Java engineer for my day job there is a lot of new stuff here, I had some contact with C/C++ when I studied CS a couple of years ago but never actually wrote anything bigger than two or three files in these languages. This is quite an adventure and I learned a lot already but I'm open for any help you can offer. After all, I'm doing this for fun and getting better at whatever hits me in the face while doing it.

FAQ
Q: Why another thread?!?
A: The ROM provided by @lirokoa is great but it is based on sources that deviated quite a lot from the official LOS repo, I try to close this gap and get the ROM aligned to the remaining devices based on the SMDK4412 core so that everbody profits from the development going on there. This ultimately means that we can get a 8.x alpha version "soon" after fixing the remaining issues.
Q: How can I help to improve the ROM?
A: If you are a developer, I'd be happy to discuss the remaining issues with you and how to approach/solve them. I'm open for pull requests on Github. If you are testing the ROM and can provide log files for issues this is also a great thing, even more so if it is one of the devices I do not own.
Q: What's up with the performance?
A: Disable Live Display, it's actually not supported by the GPU (or at least by the current driver)
Q: The camera is crashing!
A: Use Open Camera
Q: Wifi attempts to connect but never succeeds!
A: Try reflashing again, including wiping. This usually fixes it.

Wow!
thank your development for this old Pad.
will try it in a free time.
: )
Downloading. Will post some feedbacks later. Thanks for continuing the development on this old brick. ?
i couldn't get secretwolf98 version to install on my n8013 so i am keen to see if this one will install for me when the n801x version is ready
There is a new build with basic camera support, the back camera has some issues with recording videos which will crash your camera app. I noticed that activating the torch while having the camera app open in the background/foreground will also crash the camera app, so still some issues there.
The work on the camera will go on after the big party, I wish everyone a good start into 2019
I still use 2 of these and thank you for getting back into it. Using lineage 14.1 now. Will keep watching.
Great. I've just incidentally gone back to this forum after a long time to check if there's any newer ROM than lirokoa's for my N8000
I'll check it out. Thanks a lot
Got it all installed - but can't get over an error code 190 ("can't download app")when trying to install chrome. Unsure if this is rom related or gapps related.
Also flashed the 14.1 su package - works well with the rom as expected. Youtube from the play store does not work - plays audio but no video. Other than that as I play with this I'll see if I can find any other bugs. Really appreciative of you picking this up!
Thank you very much for continuing the development of this tablet!
My N8000 is presently running on lirakoa's latest build lineage-14.1-20170810-UNOFFICIAL-n8000 with open gapps micro and as root solution Magisk 18.0.
Recovery is TWRP 3.02.
Everything is working fine except the well known bugs, and it seems that most of these have been fixed in your latest build.
I've never tried video recording with this tablet but had some camera crashes recently when using the ClearScanner app, in fact it's not usable with this app.
Otherwise I think it's usable as daily driver, and it was.
My daughter used it for university until recently.
So, as far as I understand, your build should be on the same level and I'm gonna try it very soon.
Do you think a dirty flash could work?

Not quite yet, lirokoa put some effort in the ROM and there are probably things that I don't know about yet which are broken. See my last quote above for example. I'm still learning the inner working of the linux kernel and Android which is quite a huge task.

It could work but there is no guarantee as always. There are some changes here and there which can potentially break it.

The 190 issue was fixed with a reflash and and formatting my system. Took 3 times - not sure but I think it was on my end. The youtube however is still at issue. I was able to view in browser w/o issue though. It is just the app. Side loaded a bunch of older APKs of youtube with same result.

It is really good ROM for N8000! But it seems not all video codecs are switched on in assembly. Except YouTube any IPTV application does not work, there is no video in Instagram (the still image of the first frame only) and in browsers many videos cannot be reproduced too.
Samsung SmartThins and Samsung Galaxy Apps application and is not started too. Sadly, as I remember, only from Galaxy Apps can be install the S-Pen application. By the way, somebody knows where to take .apk for Samsung Galaxy Apps? And how to work with the stylus?
Thank you very much for this ROM I'm new here on XDA, however I have recently flash this ROM to my n8013 it's running pretty good, but I have 2 issues so far.
First, I'm having some troubles accessing to my wifi network, I have a Spectrum router which have 2g and 5g but it keep saying that the password may be incorrect, I have try many apps so far changing settings on my router but no success; but when I go with my phone on Hotspot I can get access and establish connection.
I'm also trying to get root access, I already flash the path for LineageOS 14.1 but when I go to developers I can't get access to the manage option. And when I run the root checker app I shows that I don't have root access.
Thanks,

Have you tried Magisk for root already?

It is really good ROM for N8000! But it seems not all video codecs are switched on in assembly. Except YouTube any IPTV application does not work, there is no video in Instagram (the still image of the first frame only) and in browsers many videos cannot be reproduced too.

UPD.
Found Samsung Galaxy Apps. It's no S-Pen application too. There is a Google hand-written input. It is possible to cost them also and not to found S-Pen any more.
So, will be great if there is a video's full support and will earn Samsung SmartThins and if earns the IR-port for control of household appliances (now does not work on N8000). After everything it will be a masterpiece!
many thanks for the new build :good:

for me it worked
There is an issue with decoding the video stream but I'm not quite sure what's the root cause yet. Still investigating.

LineageOS needs no introductions. This version of LineageOS-14.1 is a highly customised version solely for the Amazon Fire 2019 (mustang)
- IMPORTANT: This ROM only works on devices using the bootloader hack. See <<< HERE >>> to unlock your devices.
- IMPORTANT: Do not update Magisk via the Magisk Manager App, your device will enter a bootloop if you do. Instead update Magisk via TWRP only. If you do this by accident then it is recoverable by just flashing the latest version of the ROM again (with gapps etc as required).

You could use open gapps, you'll need 32 bit arm 7.1 version. I'll update the OP.
Weren't kidding about screen tear. Looking good so far. Will report back issues.
Waiting for device tree. Great work!
Curious if LOS 14.1 variant will be back ported to unlocked Ford and/or Austin? Assume not (perhaps due to older kernel) but wanted to verify.

I was planning to go straight to los16 for ford, austin and suez at some point.
I flashed this on my tablet and it works great for the most part. The vertical sync issue is annoying but on some media playback it seems non-existant. The biggest issue I've had so far is that for some reason the tablet appears to die. Every now and then it stops responding to the power button and the display just stays off. Connecting the charger does charge it but nothing comes to life. I have to force shut it down and restart it, and it works again.

It might be missing /firmware/md32_p.bin and md32_d.bin.

Traffic not routed through Open VPN tunnel
Hi @ggow,
first of all, thanks a lot for your effort in bringing lineage to mustang. A working custom rom was the only reason for me to purchase an amazon fire
I followed @xyz post to unlock (thanks a lot for that by the way) and flashed your lineage rom.
I used OpenVPN Connect to connect to a vpn server and even though, the connection seems to be successfully established (OpenVPN Connect indicates a successful connection) , traffic is not routed through the vpn tunnel. When visiting different whats-my-ip sites, the "real" ip address is revealed. Please find the logs here: https://privatebin.net/?e1bc0fbde46a0809#CXvsF8SjyjwsqL1CXt6uLu5QAVAg9QKRF21JSxNLssFa
Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
Thanks and regards,
Chris
Same here for both the random black screen problem and the VPN issue. I'm connected to NordVPN, but my IP shows my actual location.

Thanks for the reports, I'll look into the VPN issue and the power issue. I included the md32p and md32d software but suspect that code is not running for some reason and causing the power/blank screen issue.

For blank screen issue look at power.mt81xx.so and power.default.so in logcat or if they're missing.

Thanks for this! So far everything is working ok. But yeah, a lot of screen tearing with Chrome, etc. Otherwise its pretty cool though!
Yikes. I see what was meant about screen tearing.
Seeing as the CPU is 64bit, what's the likelihood of the being a 64 bit ROM for this device?
I need to further investigate this but I'm fairly sure that the battery drained exceptionally quickly. I only flashed the ROM yesterday and the battery was dead when I looked this morning
