[Q] HeadsUp for stock Messaging app on 5.1.1? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone! I've recently bought Xperia Z3C (had Xperia T for 2,5 year) and I literally LOVE this phone! It's fast, has excellent battery life even on Lollipop... blah blah, nice phone but to the point:
I've noticed there's no HeadsUp notification for Sony's stock messaging app, the message is received, notification sound played, icon pops up on status bar but absolutely no HeadsUp! Any different messaging app (Google Messenger, Textra etc.) works like a charm but I want to use Sony app, not 3rd party. Do you have this issue too? Any solutions for this one?
Thanks in advance!

On going status bar notification

I understand that 4.3 will not hide ongoing apps but since I'm rooted can I hide the icon from the notification bar? I don't care about it in the shade. I thought I seen a mod that will but that was when I didn't have one when I seen the post.

Android settings - Apps - Pebble - Uncheck Show Notifications.
In the old days, having ongoing notifications prevents an app from closing when a device runs low on memory. 4.0 and later have been very reliable. I have not had issues after having turned off notifications for pebble, adblock, etc..

Switch toogle when launching/closing an app

Hello there,
I am looking for an app or an xposed module which would aloud my phone to automatically switch on/off preferences toggles when I start/close an application. For example, whenever I need Google Maps, I'd like it to switch the GPS on and switch it off when I leave the app.
As you may have understand I'm looking for some ways to save my battery. Since I switch to cynanogenmod on my xperia Z1 compact, it almost can't make it through the day.
Thanks a lot!

[Q] No preview of messages in notification bar

Hello,
Just bought a Z3 compact recently and since yesterday (didn't install anything new, no special changes...), whenever I receive a message via the messaging app (stock, no hangout, it is disabled), the icon show, the phone vibrate or rings when needed, but doesn't show the message preview. I have to slide the statusbar to see it...
I have show notifications checked, no other app reading notifications.
Any help? I don't believe and I don't want to go through a factory reset because of only that :/

what about Settings>Personalization>Manage notifications
do you disable the Messaging app ?
btw I don't get what you mean by message preview ?

No, the messaging app is enabled there ^^'
Message preview, you know, the message being displayed on the statusbar when you receive a message (you don't have to slide the notifications bar to see it)
Yes, I have the same. When message arrives and screen is off then its nothing except led blink. I think that change with 5.0 update

The problem is that, even with screen on, it still doesn't scroll the text preview when I receive a message. I also have to add that everything else works (It does scroll down the data off info for example)
I do hope Lollipop will solve that, but it'll be long before it starts rolling.
Then just install Textra instead default messaging app

But don't you think there is another solution beside running another messaging app? (hangouts runs just fine but meeeh)

Wait , you want to disable notifications from the sms app , right ?
No. The opposite.
Z2 at notification bar have an option to mark as read the text messages.
Z1 not. I want z2 option to z1.
I want this option from z3 to z1
Is anybody there who can help?
Any idea? Still searching for this option.

App icon notification problem

As the title says really, I don't seem to get any notifications on the app icons. Nothing for Facebook or Gmail etc. If I use nova launcher with Tesla they work but nothing with stock launcher
I'm on stock rom and don't always get notifications coming through straight away or on any apps to say I have a notification.

Yep. A deal killer for me
Still a relatively new device. Hopefully Huawei will sort this issue if they keep the updates coming.

Line and Facebook are the only apps I get notifications. Nothing else gets through.

Go to Settings-->Advanced-->Battery Manager>Protected Apps-->There you need to toggle the switch for every app you want to receive notifications from or you can toggle the All apps button at the top which will make multitasking much better but can drain the battery a little bit faster.

Just called HUAWEI support and "it is what it is", they do not support other apps besides their own apps at the moment.
