Ultimate backuo

Restoring apps using titanium backup does not work for me either. But it's frustrating because it seems to work for some people. I never figured out why...

I tried Ultimate Backup and it seems to work although it doesn't offer freezing apps which I liked in titanium

No I am not.... Since the China developer ROM is pre-rooted I never installed it. I just granted titanium backup root permission through the security app... I wonder if that's the problem? I'll try installing SuperSU and report back, thanks

Same for me...
Can we install SuperSU just like any other app or does it require some tweaking on Miui?

SUCCESS! I installed SuperSU, gave the app root permissions, then opened SuperSU to update binaries. After rebooting, Ti backup works like it should.

Same, thanks.

[Q] Root, modify and then unroot

Hi all,
Im new to Android but I have done a fair bit of developing with Windows phones. I have recently bought a LG Optimus 4X HD and the first thing I want to do is install PhoneLocator Pro for security.
In Windows I used to install security software to the extended ROM so if it was factory reset the software would stay. PhoneLocator Pro says it can do this if the phone is rooted. I have read the guide to rooting and im ready to give it a go.
My question is after I have rooted it, installed the software and removed the bloatware is it then possible to unroot the phone to protect it from accidental deletion and also to increase the security by not allowing deletion of PhoneLocator Pro when it is installed to the ROM.
I have done a lot of reading up on rooting but cant find anything on unrooting. I have also searched but when you search for "ROOT" a lot comes up.
Thanks

Soo, if you unroot the phone, the app won't work...
Stock apps can be uninstalled from the phone, and if you unroot there is no problem.
We can't have everything...
Thanks for your help.
If I leave the GPS activate all the time it should still work though shouldnt it?
How do I unroot and then i can try it?

In "SuperSU" you have the option "Remove root completly".
About the app... I don't know if only needs root for that option or to work normally. I never tried that app.
Thanks RuedasLocas.
In your opinion what freeze app software do you consider the best. Im thinking of trying App Quarantine and AntTek App Manager. From what I can see a few havent been updated for a while and therefore dont run so well on ICS.

Sorry if I steal the answer to this question but you can use the free app SDmaid. It also has an App management menu where you can freeze apps.
Or use Titanium Backup Pro Root.

Well... I use Root Uninstall Pro and AntTek Explorer, now, if they are the best or not...
They're very easy to work with and very effective.
RU allow to uninstall or freeze, give the app file location and directory thru AntTek Explorer.
AntTek Explorer allow to see and manage hidden files on the device.
If you plan to do some more Android stuff (especially flash roms what might be possible soon), I'd recommend you to buy Ti Backup. It's great for backups and can freeze, root uninstall, fix market links and more. I have never regretted buying it because you can do so much with it.

How to turn off/disable "Security notice" notification?

I've got a rooted, with Wanam Xposed installed wifi-only 9.7" S2. Even before Xposed was installed I kept getting this persistent notification. Using the "Device status normal" module in Xposed allows bootup without the notification but the notification always appears shortly after boot. Any way to get rid of this thing? I've got all the knox stuff turned off.

I am in the same case...notification disagreement...
I am rooted, on 5.11, Xposed installed, screen mirroring working...
Without enter to the details, what advantages (except disable the persistent notification) have I to install the optimal Rom?
I would just like real examples because in the details of the Rom I don't understand very much of the dev language...

App Quarantine is another way to freeze an app by the way

Titanium Backup hangs up on restore in N preview

Hi all, I'm having the classic issue of Titanium Backup getting hung up at 0% when restoring on the N dev preview. I flashed supersu beta 2.71 and have busy box installed. I also have allowed installation from unknown sources, have enabled USB debugging, and disabled mount namespace separation in supersu. I'm all out of ideas and I really need to restore this foshiz. Any help would be appreciated. (This is a nexus 6 of course).
I've never like titanium backup with my Nexus 6. Always had problems. My g2, droid, Gnex, etc all loved it.
Anyways, my guess is either selinux (check and set for permissive), or titanium just isn't compatible with Android N currently (highly likely as android N is just a preview to let developers see what they're working with)
I'm not on N but when I switched from L to M I got the same problem.
What always worked for me was using the update.zip method.
You create it in TitaniumBackup out of your saved apps + data and flash it after you're on N via TWRP.
TB can have problems installing some apps, and get stuck, but if you install that app from Play, it will continue. I recommend you let Google install the apps, then use TB to install data.

Yes it works, thanks to Aroma you can even flash it, disable all the extras that you don't want and TBU will work.
People post about issues yet leave out any sort of log that will tell what the issue is. This is one of the biggest issues developers have with users. This is why most developers will not reply to issues and almost never come in the Q&A section
If you are gonna post about issues then make sure to do your homework first. Get logs and post them. Try to figure it out for yourself before asking for help. This is not a support forum.

You might wanna try changing "app processing mode" in preferences, indirect method may help and interactive will install apps using the standard installer if all else fails.
On a related note I'd highly recommend backup+ I've started using it for specifically backups between roms and it worked for me perfectly on N. The app was built with the SELinux changes in mind as one of the first apps to work with restoring apps on Lollipop and I'd guess it has a bit to do with it working for Marshmallow and N w/o needing updates during the previews. It probably won't replace TiBup if you use it for stuff like freezing apps and whatnot. (It is capable of doing system apps, wifi, SMS, and phone logs though it's a separate in-app purchase totaling 2.61USD).

Titanium Backup unable to open...

Any one else experiencing a issue that stops Titanium Backup from opening? When I try it flashes up that's all.
Tried to reinstall, tried wiping cache from twrp etc nothing.
Should note that it WAS working BEFORE I uninstalled earlier today and reinstalled it/

Me too, actually - after the update to IOS 4.0.1 (and all the following), i have this issue with Titanium backup and several other apps (like Philips Chefconnect).
Did you manage to find a solution?
Had the same on another phone, when transferring to my 3T. To fix it I had to not only wipe data from TB, but also remove both TB and the TB Pro key, and reinstall both.
Others have also said to remove play store/services data to fix it, but that didn't do anything in my case.
Facing the same thing in OnePlus 5
Hi first time i have faced this problem with titanium backup in my new OnePlus 5
I tried uninstalling reinstalling removing cache but nothing seems to work.

I haven't tried wiping data but on my op3/3t didn't have this problem
I had this issue on OB9, works on Freedom Os 4.1.6
There is a simple fix i found for this issue
Navigate to data/data and remove titanium backup folder. This works like charm.
just delete the odex file of the titanium backup. it should clear up the mess.
Did anyone got a solution to this issue?
I tried deleting titanium backup folder from data/data didn't worked.

Try finding the /internalsd/Android/Data/com.keramidas.titaniumbackup folder and delete that one too. That worked for me.

UPDATED 5/4/19 Working Trusted Face/Face unlock

I was doing a data migration Via Titanium backup for my new Razer 2 from a OnePlus 6 and decided to try it's trusted face restore. I had tried magisk modules and apk downloads from other websites when I found out it wasn't available out of the box. I'll add the apk itself and the titanium files. Let me know how it works with just the apk. And if the bare apk doesn't work use titanium back up and let it restore as a system app.
EDIT:
Time to resurrect an old thread, I removed the app and tried it again using the packages I provided and ran into the same issue. Attached below is a titanium backup of my new working app. If you cannot get it working with the attached zip download the latest NANO Open GAPPS package available at https://opengapps.org/. I got it working again by installing the nano package. Let me know how it works guys ?
And here's a zipped file with the titanium backup

So are you saying that it does work for you? Are you on Pie?
Yes it works and yes I'm on pie. It actually works incredibly well. The app came from my OnePlus 6 on pie. I'm rooted and did it through titanium backup though. If someone unrooted tests just the apk report back.
I'm unrooted tried to install app no good doesn't work
How to restore this with titanium? sorry but it's have been a while since I used titanium
Edit: managed that titanium recognize the backup but it doesn't get restored it stays on 0%
Edit 2: now it gots restored but gives me a FC if I try to add a face

Yes it's installed correct and appears in smart Lock.
Clearing data doesn't help (was the first what I have tried).

Could you check the permissions it's granted in applications? Make sure it has access to everything. If that doesn't do it I'll remove the app from my device and do a fresh restore with my titanium file I posted. If it works for me again I'll post all the steps I took and add some screenshots in the original post as an edit

The app doesn't install just fails
app cannot be installed.
As of now read the updated instructions and you should be set on getting trusted face working. Quick summary is install the nano GAPPS package and it will appear in settings -> security -> smart lock. I think the install via app method in the original post didn't work because there were missing libraries that the package installs.
Smart locks do not have face recognition. (Have you received a security update in the last six months? This system cannot be updated in China.)?

No, I haven't had any updates since February. Looks like Razer already cut support for the 2
I'll look and see if there are any methods that can be used in China for this. I have a feeling the downloads will be blocked since it's a Google app :crying:.

I like to play games, but this phone, the system is very bad, inexplicable Caton, I think rp3 will not be launched, rp2 system update should seek third-party development (if there is a very good third party I am willing to try)。:highfive:

I did see where the Razer Phone (first phone) was now LineageOS supported, too. First saw it unofficial, and as of yesterday, officially supported.
