So I've tested twice and every time I uninstall Xposed framework my phone gets snappier. This is even with the write protection bypass. Anyone else notice this?

Hmmm.... I've never noticed a difference. It's been pretty straight across the board.
This phone is always crazy fast for me, faster than my HTC One oddly enough.
No issue but I did the old fashion way of rooting this beast , I think either a clean install is needed or there's bugs that still need to be ironed out with jcase's root method

Maybe it's a non unlocked bootloader thing? Or maybe a specific module. I was using gravity box and Moto Xposed.

Both me and my coworker noticed increased lag and worse battery with Xposed installed on our Moto X's. It's good, but for my priorities it's not optimal.

Oh wow...I didn't know it was that simple. To clarify, I just have to unlock the bootloader via Motorola's official website, flash either TWRP or CWM and flash the latest SuperSU?
In that exact order?
And you get write to system privileges? That actually seems easier to me than rebooting back and forth between recovery and normal for write permissions.

I actually haven't rooted yet. Your method just seems like less of a pain but yea, the warranty thing sucks. I'm still hoping someone comes up with an unofficial way to unlock the bootloader for the Sprint version.

Same here. I enjoyed the customization Xposed brings but for now it's back to stock.
You can reinstall

Definitely seeing lag with Xposed. I ended up uninstalling it, too. Some of those tweaks were nice, though...hopefully it will get better and I can reinstall it at some point.
This may be a dumb question... How do you go about uninstalling xposed framework? Would it be just by uninstalling the app, or via some other way?

-Gotten tethering to work (what a pain that rooting doesnt just solve that problem)

but modifying hardware is just possible with flashing another kernel

I tweaked the build.prop on the D415. I find it manages RAM better than stock when combined with my kernel. However, startup and the ten minutes of using it after startup will be SUPER laggy, so give it around 15 minutes of using it before you judge wheter to keep it or not. I can now keep multiple applications open at once!
Edit: forgot to add link, oops: http://1drv.ms/1dDVdis It's a flashable zip btw.
EDIT: version 2 (not as laggy): http://1drv.ms/1LdFAg1
Just 2 questions, ignore if you aren't in mood for answering:
1. Will there be a D405n version?
2. Will you add those tweaks to your kernel for custom roms?
Once again, sorry for that, I know it must be frustrating
Can you tell us what exactly did you change in your build.prop ?

1. Yeah, I'll probably make one, but I gotta finish xkernel for d405n first because I just figured out the version I released won't boot. I'm busy this weekend, so that will probably happen in a few days.
2. No, some of these tweaks do not apply at the kernel level.

Lg stores minfree values in build.prop. I changed those to be less aggressive. I changed maximum apps to a really high number to let the lmk do the killing. I also applied some of the tweaks from here (such as panorama quality, etc):http://niranjanthilak.com/improving...evice-through-optimizing-build-prop-settings/
Note that I did enable lock launcher into memory, so disable that if you don't like it. If you're interested on the exact properties, run a diff between the one included in the zip and the stock one.
And this works on any D415 ROM?
Sent from my NEC-NE-201A1A using XDA Free mobile app
An interesting thing to do would be to grab the build.prop of phones with similar specs and compare them.
Obviously ignoring garbage brands and going after more flagship (older obviously) type phones which would have seen the most usage.

On the D415 version, a lot of lines have been added that weren't previously there by apps like pimpmyrom. I don't know if those tweaks actually work if the lines weren't originally there, so I didn't add them to the d405n version. I just tweaked the lines that were already there.

Hello, everyone. I'm having an issue on my G800H I can't get figured out. I'm no stranger to rooting, having rooted 15-20 of my own devices, but only 3 were Samsungs (two S5 Sports, and a Galaxy Admire). I've never had this problem with any Android, but I can't keep a Touichwiz OS rooted. I've rooted both 5.1.1 firmwares many times over the past month using both Supersu 2.50 and 2.66. I've never kept root for over 24 hrs. I've thought it may be a Knox issue, but even when I uninstall every Knox related app I can find, I still lose root. The Knox apps I'm aware of and uninstall are:
BBCAgent
Bridge
ELMAgent
KLMSAgent
KnoxFolderContainer
KnoxMigrationAgent
KnoxSetupWizardClient
KNOXStore
SecurityLogAgent
SwitchKnoxl
SwitchKnoxll
Maybe I'm missing a couple. I've tried with both the Russian kernel and with the Tardis Ultimate kernel. I've even tried returning to the stock kernel after rooting just because I wanted to try everything. I've also tried rooting with about 4 different versions of the kingroot apk and even tried the PC version last night...none will Root either 5.1.1 firmware... @sasukesama, which version is working for you? I even tried the new beta apk!! I would use CM or BlissPop, but I can't stand my phone to not be fully functional and I can't stand navbars...but I can't stand losing root even more so I may use 1 of the 2. This morning, I even decided that I'd rather have Root than Lollipop, so I returned to 4.4.2 and rooted with SuperSu 2.4.6...a zip I've used many times on many phones without a problem. I lost root within 3 hours. If anyone has heard of this before or knows a solution, please help me out...I'm losing my patience with this phone, and I don't want to give up and sell it....

Now flash

If yes try to install one root app (x-plore for example)
Because I think there's an app that is causing this

I was thinking the same thing... So about the past 8 times or so I haven't even set it up. I only install busybox, kernel adiutor, and es file explorer. But I do use an older version of ES... And I do grant it root permissions, I use all the same app versions in my Zmax, too. I'll give it a try without granting root to anything and see what happens.

I dont think gravitybox gives a triple press option, but you could probably do single press, double press and long press. Since they don't work, I turned off the capacitive backlights and fixed the native brightness slider, and now it may be time to try service on this phone.
I do like that the navbar puts the back and recent buttons back where I'm used to on other devices.

I fixed it by switching to CM. It bugs me bad to be defeated by Android though, so I'm sure to go back and try again...just not right now...lol. I'm enjoying CM. Not even noticing the RAM difference after raising the minfree values, but I haven't tried any serious multitasking yet, I don't think.
BTW, @sasukesama, I've read that this phone has the msm8226 and I've also read it has the msm8228. Well, the Zmax has the 8226 and it gets LTE. A friend who uses international phones said that to enable LTE on them, you have to add some 2 letters to the end of the APN. I will ask him about it later when he wakes up and I'll post back unless you already know about this and it didn't work.
Hahaa! Home button wake has as always bugged me about Samsungs . Since I have a navbar, I disabled the home and both capacitive keys. I'm so happy to be having fun with this phone again! Now it won't waste battery turning on in my back pocket.

i rooted my phone and downloaded app-ops and greenify, and i saw that i can deny from the android system keep the phone awake.
should i deny it or i dont need to touch this?
also, what else can i do to save my battery life?
I don't have any issues regarding high battery drain. I admit the backup is not better than 4.5.1.
Some users did a dirty flash instead of clean flash and gone in trouble.

Sure, it's a bad idea to buy a flagship killer device at half the price of any other flagship, just because the data collection hate is still going around. That would be like not buying a good car since it looks ugly.
