Hi,
after some time with Minimal OS I went back to Shawn's Titan Prime (1.1.1) on my XT1069 yesterday and after setting everything up I noticed that I can't edit or save files on the internal memory anymore. Also happens with the External SD card but I managed to delete a file using ES file explorer.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I had the same problem like you a few months ago. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to pull out the mSD during phone is running. Suddenly my internal AND external memory was read only. Very terrifying. Tried some solutions, but nothing helped. So I made a factory reset and everything was fine, except I had to install and set everything again.
BTW: Where did you get the XT1069? I have a xt1068 with only 8GB internal memory and 1GB RAM. I think your device would be more smoother than mine?

My son has the HTC Touch Diamond and has been complaining that he cannot save anything. when I check the device I see that there is not any internal storage.
I was under the impression that it came with an internal 4GB of RAM.
I tried a hard reset and nothing changed, still no 4GB
Any help gratefully received.

it should have 4gb internal storage, check file explorer if there is a folder called Internal Storage.
Also look under Settings>System>Storage Card tab if nothing there as well, you may have a faulty phone.
try to change the rom, i had the same problem after flashing with a rom.
i use dia duit and i have no problem
Hello all, I recently upgraded to the ATT Fuze and then installed an AData 8 Gb MicroSD card. The issue is sometimes the phone will not detect the files in the card. So if I restart my phone everything works fine and the phone sees all files in the SD card with 80 mb used. If I restart again the phone takes a long time to view memory of the storage card and then shows nearly the entire 8 gb used. File explorer show the folders but none of the files in the SD card.
Anyone see this issue or how to resolve it. I have already replaced the phone once. SD card works perfectly when used in a laptop.
Please help
Wrong section or do i misunderstand?
I am sorry if it is in the wrong section. Which section should it be in?

I'm a bit of noob to all this, so please bear with me.
I was previously running Modaco FR19, when yesterday I decided I'd finally jump to GB and installed CM7 nightly 204 using Paul's kitchen. Everything is working fine, except that my internal SD seemingly isn't being recognised. Any time I try to launch my Gallery or ES File Explorer, it gives me the message "SD Card unmounted or not present". When I go to settings/storage then it shows up normally as '/mnt/emmc' and will let me unmount or erase.
External SD card works normally when I put that in, but I'm used to leaving it out as I never use much storage space.
Another funny detail: when I connect the phone to Windows via USB then I'm not given the option to turn on USB storage, however that option appears if I do it while the external SD card is inserted. In that case, the internal appears as drive H: and the external appears as drive G:.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I didn't look into if CM7 and FR19 have different file systems so I don't know if its to do with that. Or would a wipe help? Would appreciate any help.
Cheers.
edit: With ES File Explorer, I can still browse to the internal memory and it will display all the files as it normally would. Do I need to change a pointer to the default storage location somewhere? As my gallery still won't find my photos.
edit 2: I changed an internal storage setting in CM, and then later moved some of my photos to a different folder, and everything seems to be working ok for the moment. If nothing else is screwed up, then I'm good.
Hello!
You could also try using "stock mount fix" for CM7...

I would prefer to install a external SD-card since they aren't really expensive any more...

Thats pretty neat, I didn't know about that, thanks. I'll give it a miss for now, as I don't want to risk screwing up my phone even more.
The only reason I haven't been keen on using an external SD card is because mine is only 2gb, compared to the 5gb+ that comes with the phone internally. But looking at prices, I might just go ahead and buy a bigger card to use.
Hello, everyone
I am using Lenovo K3 Note, with CM 13 Installed.
Recently, I bought a new 32 GB memory card and decided to use it instead of my old 16 GB Memory Card.
After formatted the card, instead of using it as a portable storage, I decided to use it as my internal storage. But, I did not know that my internal memory would be inaccessible after that. So, I switched off my mobile and removed my external memory card. When I switched ON my device, it wouldn't let me use my internal memory as my primary storage even then. I opened ES File Explorer and it said that "sd card is not mounted". So, I wiped my ROM and flashed the same one again. It stayed the same. I even tried download CM 13 from other sites but it would not let me access my internal storage.
However, if I flash CM 12.1, with android 5.1 (duh), it worked. It showed me internal memory again and I was able to access it. But, after I flashed CM 13 again, it wouldnt let me access it again.
What do I do? Please help someone.
Hi,
I recently installed Lineage 14.1 on my Tab S 8.4. Everything worked great and there is great improvement in performance.
I have one question, I have installed a 32Gb Micro Sd card and the device asked me if I wanted to format it as internal memory, which I did. So according to the OS I now have 40Gb, 8Gb onboard + 32Gb Micro Sd.
However when I try to install apps or connect the tablet to my computer it says that I only have 8Gb on board memory. So now even though I have a lot of space, the tablet keeps on telling me that I am running out of space.
So on one hand it sees that I have the 32Gb card installed, but on the other hand it ignores it.
I can try with another SD card, but it is quite a long process, since I will need to reset the tablet again, so before I do that I wanted to ask if someone had a similar problem, or maybe there is some hardware limitation on the tablet that will not allow me to use the sd card as internal memory.
Anyone come across issues like this before?

Your device should have 16gb not 8gb internal storage.
The data on the sdcard also gets encrypted once adoptable storage is enabled.
Data also needs to be migrated using the migrate option after setting up adoptable storage.
If your internal storage was already full before enabling adoptable storage then that's part of the issue.
Internal storage will still get used even with adoptable storage enabled, just most of the data will go to the sdcard.
I suggest you fix your size issue first.
You are right, the device does have 16gb and not 8gb.
Right now the usage is as follows, 14.5gb on the internal and 1.4gb on the sd card, although when I click on the sd card I am told that I am using 8.9gb.
When I first installed Lineage, the first thing I did (before even installing GApps) was to put the sd card in and when asked chose to format it as internal storage, so there was nothing to migrate, because none of the apps were installed.
The problem that I am having is that although the tablet days its using the sd card, it uses internal memory.

After more experiments I think I understand what the problem is.
Even though the OS says that it's using the sd card as internal storage, it doesn't.
I tested it by putting the sd card into a computer and seeing how much space was being used, the partition was encrypted, but based on the fact that it was less than 1gig, it is pretty clear that it did not store the 8gb of data as Android OS might have suggested.
So the question is, is Lineage OS unable to use SD Card as internal memory on Tab S8.4 because of hardware limitations.
Or is my tablet FUBR and it's time to let it rest and get a new one.
