Hello got meself one of these fantastic value for money phones and unlocked it to my network next thing I wanted to do is root it and then install xposed framework and then xposed app settings and gravity box.
After I installed xposed framework and tried to install xposed/update framework into the system I was greeted with the message in the pic, I have never got this message with xposed before. What does it mean and what do I have to do, or what am I doing wrong? thanks.

You have installed the Xposed_Installer.apk for KitKat. Use the correct one for Lollipop (Xposed_Installer_3.0_alpha4.apk) from here.
By the way, you should check this thread about general information for Xposed for Lollipop. Read carefully at least the first two posts, if you haven't figured out yet that you need to flash the framework via custom recovery on Lollipop devices.

Check post #2 of the official Xposed for Lollipop thread. There you'll find a flow chart you can use to identify the correct Xposed framework version for your device.

Thanks - I already took the plunge last night and used xposed-v74-sdk21-arm.zip - it seems to have done the trick, working now. I wouldnt have been able to understand that flow chart anyway , but thanks for your help

I'm just throwing this out there to maybe save a few people out there the headache and wasted time I experience not knowing Xposed would not install with the latest version of TWRP and was not compatible with Android 5.1 (at the time of this writing.)
How did I make this mistake a few days ago? 95% of all web pages describing any requirements (including the official thread here) or describing installation instructions fail to mention either of these issues. Granted most of those articles were probably written before 5.1 was released and just not updated. For the person that simply googles "Xposed Android Lollipop Installation" instead of wading through dozens and dozens of post in XDA, to finally find a post that discusses the 5.1 incompatibility, this is a potential pitfall.
I do think the official thread should say "compatible with Android 4.0 to 5.0.x" instead of just saying "compatible with Android 4.0 and above."
Just want to say that i flashed Xposed with TWRP 2.8.6.0 and it works fine on Moto G Titan :good:
yes. this happened to me too.

Can't flash xposed using TWRP 2.8.6.0, too. My device is Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1. Switching to TWRP 2.8.5.3 solve this.

Xposed currently is only for 32 bit ROMs.
Well that's good to know, will save a lot of money by not upgrading to the M9

There is an issue with some (maybe all?) TWRP 2.8.6.0 builds missing the "unzip" binary and busybox in general. I know this affects hammerhead and victara at least. I've added a small check to the installer to account for this but probably the best course of action is to use 2.8.5.x until the issue is resolved with the TWRP build servers.
This does not only affect Xposed BTW. SuperSU 2.48 beta was just released and contains a similar check for the same reason.
Wait.....i have the TWRP 2.8.6.1 and use the modules without problems but i am on android 4.3. stock S3.......maybe for this? xposed is incompatible with the last TWRP but on L, right?
i have install with twrp on my nexus 5 well but whent boot its optimize the app and finish, when finish its do restart like boot loops.. why and how i can fix it please?
The OP should fix the thread title, afaik it only concerns 2.8.6.0 builds.
I'm on Lollipop 5.1 with TWRP 2.8.6.1 on Nexus 5 and I was able to flash and use the Xposed Framework no problem.

Anyway to get xposed working on rooted Lollopop?
yes. v3.1
Explain.. is that the version of xposed?
yes
Also how would we flash xposed without a custom recovery (safestrap)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Yes except it doesn't even work properly with touchwiz lollipop as people have reported across various other devices. So bottom line if you want to use xposed, stay off of lollipop until it gets worked out.
And it would be possible to try. You'd have to open the zip and push everything in it to the right places then install the xposed app. I don't think it will do anything but cause force closes and probably force you to odin to stock though from what I've heard. I wouldn't try it without SS or a backup but if some brave soul wants to give it a shot be prepared for the worst.
Downloads:
xposed-arm-*.zip: Must be flashed with a custom recovery to install the framework.------no longer have custom recovery with Lollipop....
XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha*.apk: Must be installed to manage installed modules
No, it's not using material design yet. Yes, there are more important topics for now.
XposedBridgeApi-20150213.jar: The API for module developers, in case they want to make use of some new features. Might be changed slightly until the stable release!
Known issues:
- It seems to boot loop on Samsung stock ROMs! Update: Samsung has changed quite a few things in their version of ART. It will take more time to adjust Xposed for it.
It seems like for the time being we cant have Exposed on a stock rooted s5 unless i am missing something.

Had same failure on my Fire Phone.
This Version worked for me
if xposed installer is removed after Framework Installations reboot. Reinstall Xposed installer.

xx
There was an Android security update that many ROMs backported to 4.4, CM included, that broke Xposed compatibility. Look in this forum for threads discussing KitKat or 4.4, there was a lot of discussion and some workarounds.

Try this
Sorry but ****ty app can't upload Apk
Same problem on Samsung Galaxy Star Advanced running rooted stock 4.4.2
Here's the Apk which will work https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B11EEOKYoTUPd2tHNlRPSm9uV3c/view?usp=drivesdk
But it works only for kitkat armeabi-v7a. For other LM or MM roms with armeabi-v7a xposed doesn't works.
I still get this error, is there a fix now?

is there anything wrong with this xposed , it was installed along with the rom (wolla sense 7 v2.0 ) , i cant update it or download anything from within, any solution guys ?
Thank you

That's normal. There was time when those buttons actually worked but now if you want to update it from now on, you simply flash the latest Xposed zip.
I think its mainly because there are some many different devices now that one zip can't possibly work for all of them so it sort of prevents people downloading an Xposed not designed for their system. This is pure speculation. Rovo89 probably has a proper reasons by yeah.

1/ try myandroidtool app and with that app open xposed contants and make sure everything is allowed
this was an issue with mine xposed
may work for you
2/ or just install latest xposed apk and framework(according to your device) through custom recovery

If download section within Xposed Installer app is empty, wipe cache of Xposed Installer app and reboot your device.

It seems to be an unreleased test build. Not sure why @rovo89 put it in his public server but did not make any announcements about it
This is xposed for roms with november security patch, which bootlop with v86, so he made this. This is test version that boots but probably has memory leaks

Everyone needs to start some day, right?
Morover, rovo89 announced that he will push New stable version with no leaking in the couple of days.
Cheers.
thank you for all your useful answers
https://github.com/rovo89/XposedBridge/issues/129
Here is the issue page, and rovo89 says he will release a proper version some time this week. Let's just wait.
Well, that was a test build, as the name said. The screenshot is from the unofficial installer, which tries to extract the available versions from the web server. That doesn't necessarily reflect what I "released". The official installer is more accurate.
I have the xposed-v84-sdk23-arm64 version active. Inside the Xposed Installer the V87 version appears to be installed. I already tenti install through recovery and even inside the Xposed Intaller itself. But my cell phone is always frozen on the screen of Samsung (I already cleaned the cache etc., as per the recommendations). I ask for help trying to install the new version. Thanks.
