Make K013 / ME176CX power up when plugged in - MeMO Pad 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to set an Asus MeMO Pad 7 K013 ( ME176CX ) to boot into android whenever it gets powered via USB.
On a Nexus 7 this was possible via fastboot option "oem off-mode-charge 0" which isn't known to the MeMO Pad.
Are there other ways, like this for Samsung?
The device isn't rooted (in fact, it has never been powered up so far ^^).
It would be nice if it's possible via adb, which I can connect to when the devices is plugged via usb, because I want to change this on a whole batch of devices
Thanks

Deleted Dell Stage - cant boot - help!

I've got a Dell Streak 7 on t-mobile, rooted and started removing a bunch of things (before backing up because I'm an idiot, sure) which resulted in a system exception. Now when I boot it loads up to the t-mobile square but no further. I've tried a hard reset, which brings me back to the device setup but about 4 screens in I get another exception and cant go any further.
I had already rooted it, so adb and all that is installed. So far I've tried using flashboot, which doesn't move past the "Starting Fastboot USB download protocol" bit so I've had no success trying to flash anything I can find.
My experience with android is fairly limited, I'm guessing I just need a fresh flash, any ideas? Help severely appreciated!
Go into the dev section and look for the perf tweeks thread v.2 there is a stock system.img in there that you can flash via fastboot. Should square you away.

And flashboot is run from your pc to your device. You use a cmd window to transfer stuff from your pc to your device. Google adb install and look 3 results down from the top and install sdk/ adb. Good luck

When I run fastboot via command line it doesn't see the device, and adb isn't showing up under devices, even though while I was rooting it, everything worked fine. Basically fastboot isn't bringing up all the devices I imagine it should which would enable the usb interface between the pc and the streak.
When I turn on fastboot on the streak it stays at "Starting Fastboot USB download protocol" - I'm not sure if that screen should go any further.
That screen does not go any further. Sounds like some drivers may not be installed.

After some driver fiddling, if I connect the streak and boot into fastboot mode the device manager sees the streak for maybe 5 seconds, and then shoots me a "Device cannot start".
when you plug your device into the pc in fastboot mode does it ask to install drivers? Or can you see the device in device manager on your pc? Should say android phone.

and are you waiting to plug into the pc?

If I wait to plug it in after starting fastboot on the device, it typically isn't recognized at all. When it does recognize it, its recognized as an ADB device, and on occasion "fastboot". No matter what title it comes up as, it can't start, and I am using the absolute latest usb drivers.
Did you get this fixed yet? I did the same thing.
Nope, still stuck.
Have you got fastboot working? If so have you tryed pushing the stock system.img from the perfmod thread?

Go to device manager and update driver, select Install from a different location, then uncheck adroid device, and pick another, you should see 3, the drivers will install then run fasboot devices and if you see ? fastboot, your set.
1 right click my computer, select properties
2 right click on android devices (if its not there unplug usb and replug)
3 select update driver
4 Install from a list or specific location, next
5 select Dont search, next
6 uncheck Show compatible hardware and select alternate driver and install
This is from XP not Windows 7

Phone will not charge/detect usb when booted in Android, only when OS is not booted

Hello,
I had an HTC rooted and after installing busy box it couldn't anymore charge/detect when usb to computer was connected.
If the OS was not powered it would work to charge or give commands to the smartphone via ADB/fastboot.
I have factory reset and relocked the smartphone with fatsboot flash ruu.zip
The problem is that the problem still persists when the phone is booted in Android (no charge or detect usb).
I have currently tried the following actions with no success:
1) boot into safe mode, reboot
2) disable daydream, fastboot
3) charge for 10 min while phone is off, disconnect charger and continuously hold power+volume up+volume down for 2 minutes
Does anyone have an idea what could be the issue ?

Maybe the USB port. You can replace the usb port by replacing the little board (USB port + main mic).

After also cleaning the usb port from the smartphone the issue still appears.
It is very possible to be the micro usb port like you mention. I will send the mobile to warranty as this issues take a lot more time then I am willing to invest in.

Nexus 6 won't charge after reboot

Hi everyone!
My nexus 6 got a problem today. After a reboot without plugin, it's won't charge when I connect a cable, won't connect to PC (my cable still work fine), nothing happen, no bolt on battery icon. I turn it off then plugin and it start charging, I turn it on again (with plugin) and everything work fine, but this problem happen again when I take a reboot (without pluggin).
I try both stock 6.0.1 (mob30d) and n beta 2 (npc91k) via fastboot but it still happen.
Can anyone help me? Thanks for reading.
Did you try to roll back to stock using Google's original *.tgz image ? Only then can you be sure that something is wrong.
Does the PC recognize your phone when it's fully booted up (enable USB Debugging in Developer's Options by tapping "build" option 7 times to enable Developer's Options)?
If your device is rooted and has TWRP, does your PC recognize your phone in TWRP mode?
Does it charge in TWRP mode (has a percentage with plus sign next to it indicating charging)?
Does it charge using a wall charger? using a different, known to be good microUSB charging cable?

If still within 1 yr warranty, I'd exchange it. If not, try wireless charger ; buy local so u can return if doesn't work
this might be a pain and idk if you have done this yet but have you tried a factory reset?

Note 5 Bricked. Need Help. USB port not working.

I was trying to restore a backup via TWRP, now the Note 5 is stuck in boot screen (over 30 mins).
Can boot into TWRP and Download mode, but my PC (and 4 others running Windows 7/10, Ubuntu) do not recognize the Note 5 showing "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" with the instance ID USB\VID_0000&PID_0002\6&d66f1f7&0&7.
I tried to modify the Android Driver with the corrupted VID & PID, tried to use adb shell etc, but can not see the phone on the PC to try Odin any other recovery process. I tired connecting an OTG flash drive, but can't get TWRP to recognize it.
I have also tried replacing the USB Charging Port of the Note 5, and the same behavior is there with the original and the new charging port chip.
Is there any way I can access the storage, or fix the PID and VID of the phone so I can try to flash firmware via Odin.
All input is greatly appreciated.

[Q] redmi 4x broken screen how to recover pics

Hi all,
my sister-in-law handed me over a redmi 4x, it has a broken screen, and she wants to have the pics recovered (for a good reason!)
I can get it somehow "on", but makes a sound if I plug in a cable, in Windows the "REDMI 4X" appear, but won't display any content.
I can get it to adb, but ONLY sideload mode, not regular adb. Debugging seems to be disabled.
I can get it to fastboot, but it's not bound to my miui-account, so I can't unlock the bootloader. Neither using official Win tool, nor using fastboot unlock.
I can't boot into TWRP recovery.
In my linux logs I can see the following IDs, depending on which mode I start:
usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=2717, idProduct=ff48
usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=2717, idProduct=ff40
usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=2717, idProduct=ff18
Anything I can do about this ?
Can I use sideload to flash recovery ?
Thanks.
