Which ROMs work? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

I'm a little confused as to which ROMs in the att subforum work on my g900a. I'm assuming everything under Android Development does since those are all touchwiz, but there are many more under unified ROMs, like cm12 that it's not really clear if it's compatible. They keep using the term klte, but I don't know what that means. Does anyone know? Thanks

Why are there AOSP roms here

I thought this was the sub forum for stock/ stock-modded roms and 'original development' was for all other roms. What gives? Page one has at least 2 AOSP roms and an app mod for xposed. I'm only asking because it's been this way for weeks and it's not making much sense.
I was wondering the same

Original Android development is supposed to be for roms built from source code and android development is for roms not built from original source.
It has nothing to do with AOSP or Sense really, but still there's a lot of roms that aren't in exactly the right category and some of that is because we are taking items with lots of grey components and forcing them to be black or white so to speak. But that's the idea behind the concept when it was formed.
And due to it being sense, which is closed source proprietary, kernel excluded, it means that it's a lot harder to make the argument that a sense rom should be in original development, whereas with AOSP roms they will be in both. There have been device sections though where sense roms have been in original development, usually it was one or two major roms with a lot of custom source or a bunch of custom java and tweaks added, and then in android development it was just roms with minor changes and tweaks that were borrowed.
???
No disrespect but who cares as long as development is happening, some devices have no development at all, so just enjoy having variety my friend.
Why is there a question in the Dev section? Lol, you've got your answer. Now who is gonna answer my question. ?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Because ROMs in this section are either sense based or OEM from HTC or Google meaning the bugs and other issues you get from AOSP roms shouldn't be found in roms you install from this sub forum. It can get confusing quickly if there are two different sub forums with essentially the same material. I wasn't asking out of malice, I was more trying to understand what was going on lately so I can browse appropriately. I got my answer. /thread. Thanks Charles!
Moderator update,
Thread moved to Q&A as we do not allow question threads in the development forums.
Now to answer your question, which is a good question. There are certain OSAP Roms in the AD forum for the following reasons.
Original development is just that. It is what makes the rom original. This applies to both sense and OSAP Roms. For an example of a sense rom that could be in original development is the venom rom. They have so much code in the rom that is original it makes it different from the rom it was built from.
In terms of OSAP Roms simply building it from source does not make it original. It needs extra code to make it original. Eg official CM Roms are original because of this, an unofficial build is not original so does not belong in OG so goes into AD.
So to sum up. Simply building a rom or kernel does not qualify for OD. It is the amount of original code that the developer has added to the base rom that determines which section the rom goes in.
Sorry for the long post hope it clears things up. Let me know if you need any more info.

Tester Wanted!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to ask for a little assistance from anybody with some experience. I am the dev of the Project Infinity ROM. Currently it is on the Tmobile S5 dev forum.
As most people know however that the tmobile device is extremely similar to the international device and is able to run any of the international roms. Therefor, shouldnt it be the other way around as well? I am looking at "porting" this extremely feature rich and powerful rom to all the other S5 variations. By that I mean just changing some features to enhance compatibility between the specific device.
I was just wondering if someone with any other variation phone can do me a favor and test the Project Infinity rom and ensures it boots or provide me with any issues or problems that comes up.(please have a strong backup first!)
If it does work then this might mean that a few Tmobile propriatary features might be able to be ported along with it. (No, WIFI calling will still not work unless your on a tmobile network).
Here is my rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54727694
Also, if any extremely experienced user on an ATT device happens to see this, please pm me. I have questions as to the current root methods that is now used and what is functioning so far.
Thanks in advance!

Running G900T Rom's on the G900F soft-bricks your GPS.
Not on the G900T ROM that you're running, but when you flash back an G900F ROM after that (with data/factory reset!) your GPS won't work anymore...
Even restoring back the G900F Odin firmware didn't fix it for me!
After 2 weeks (with bricked GPS) I did found an solution, and that was flashing an old NE5 G900T ROM, after that my GPS started working again, also on the G900F ROM's.
I know it sounds strange... but I've experienced this multiple times, with different G900T ROM's.

Thanks for the info, where there any things disabled while running a g900t rom? Was everything working?
Thanks, just curious cause i can add that fix to the op if people only want to switch back to a g900f rom after.

No, everything works when you run an G900T ROM on an G900F device.
Only when you flash back an G900F ROM then GPS won't work.

Which custom ROMs are usable with Flashfire for i537?

Hello,
it seems that Flashfire is able to flash ROMs on locked bootloader devices. However, all my attempts with Touchwiz-based ROMs on my i537 failed miserably.
So is there actually some ROMs usable with Flashfire?
Or Safestrap will remain the only way?
Bump.
It seems the device is getting slowly deprecated… The only relevant ROM I found was the Golden Eye, but I didn't succed to flash it and it looks like the camera is not working anyway.
Is there even a fully functional custom lollipop ROM for i537?

There are only 2 ROMs that I know of that are being actively developed for the i537 and unfortunately other than CM 12, they're the only ROMs being actively developed for the i9295 as well.
Super WizCyan
SiCK As HELL ROM
Both ROMs have specific versions for the i537 and the i9295 so make sure you're using the right one. If you can't get them to install I suggesting posting in the ROM threads. Good luck.
Thanks a lot! Somehow I completely missed these 2 ROMs in my search.
Which one would you advise to use?
As to let you know, I choose Super WizCyan. It's so good that I'm sad it hasn't appeared earlier so I would have use it when the i537 was my main device!
Now the device is going into hands of a member of my family, and I'm happy it's with this ROM.
Thanks again!

[HELP]Cyanogenmod

Hello ALL,
I am new to android community i just downloaded CM13 nightly while downloading i checked the changelog(http://www.cmxlog.com/13/titan/) but i didn't understand a thing i want to learn each and everything about building custom ROM's mostly everything about Android OS.
I hope y'all getting what i wanna know.
I'm hoping for good resource's which will teach me everything about it.
Thanks in advance:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
There are plenty of guides on xda on how to build roms, maybe just google 'build android from source' or something like that. Also, there's a basic guide on how to build cm12.1 for Titan in the general section of this forum. Maybe have a look at them

It does matter.
Simply install the latest Nougat stock ROM, debloat with Neked Maker, root, install Xposed with the modules you like.
That's all you need, no reason to bother with custom ROMs, which always have annoyances, instabilities or things which don't work.
One of my hooks to android is to install custom ROM. I had so much fun with it when I had Samsung note 2. Today, I'm running android 8.0 on my lovely tab s2. Well, I tried o.p but didn't work. Lineage os 15.1 is beautiful. I love it.
