Requesting Stock Recovery (91.2.29001.XT890.Retail.en.GB) - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm setting up a RAZR i for a family member but cant seem to install latest OTA. It will boot to recovery fine and looks like its installing but half way through the sick android logo pops up and it reboots telling me the update failed.
I dont know if it has any significance but i unlocked the bootloader prior to trying the OTA update and also flashed TWRP recovery.
After realising the OTA required stock recovery i flashed a stock recovery image but i have no idea if this is version specific. I pulled the recovery file from LeBobo's recovery flasher tool.
The system version i'm running is 91.2.29001.XT890.Retail.en.GB does anyone have the required stock recovery i can use please?

[Q] stock 4.2.2 - how to root ?

Can someone please help with this ?
I'm want to flash the stock recovery in order to receive the 4.2.2 OTA update (currently I have the stock 4.1.2 + root + TWRP + S-OFF)
Can someone guide me please, what stock recovery do I need to flash and where should I grab it from ?
I've found only this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158763
Not sure if is the right recovery but the download link from there is broken
Any idea if I need to be S-OFF or ON in order to receive the OTA ?
That's old thread. Run either a ruu or Mike's stock. Be sure u have stock recovery as well.
Sent from my HTC One
where can I have the stock recovery ? (I can't find it)
- Ok after a lot of digging around I've found a stockrecovery.img file , so I've flashed that like this: fastboot flash recovery stockrecovery.img
- the spooky part after doing this was that I was unable to enter into recovery anymore , the screen alway remained in Entering Recovery and that was it ... maybe someone explain why ?
- then I've locked the bootloader like this: fastboot oem lock
- then I've installed a RUU for Europe (also found out here after diggin around) which actually downgraded my firmware to an older version
- after downgrade I've received an OTA update to a newer firmware - did that
- then after I've received the 4.2.2 OTA update , finaly
- then I've performed a bootloader unlock
- then I've flashed a TWRP recovery image in order to root the device
Now here comes the issue, after flashing the TWRP recovery image, while entering into the TWRP recovery I'm not able to click on any menu , is like the touch screen does not take any input so I'm unable to install the SU binaries
Has anyone encountered this issue ?
How did you root your stock 4.2.2 device ?
Reflashed the CWM recovery (instead of TWRP) as somebody recommend it and it worked - now I have root, too.

Hi there,
i have the exact same problem, the screen wont register touches. How do i reflash CMW? im a noob
You are going to flash it in the same manner you did with the TWRP.
You put your phone into fastboot then issue a command like :
fastboot flash recovery cwm_image_name
You should search for a cwm recovery image file.
And you need to have the bootloader unlocked
After update to 4.2.2 TWRP wont recocnize touch due to the driver update.
Here is a modified version of TWRP where touch work with 4.2.2 OTA
Download and rename it to howdoyouwant.img then
fastboot flash recovery howdoyouwant.img
fastboot erase cache

[Q] Phone keeps going into recovery mode when trying to update to 4.2.2

I'm using an international HTC ONE and has downloaded the system update to 4.2.2. But each time the phone restarts itself to install the update, it reboots into recovery mode (with the TEAMWIN logo in the background). Obviously my handset is rooted, but surely I should be able to update the phone anyway?
Incorrect. You need stock recovery to install the OTA. Otherwise flash a stock rooted 4.2.2 rom in TWRP.

Stuck in binary update in recovery boot loop

I have been using ecliptic JB rom for a long time. I installed SuperSU , thinking it was a better option than Super user. When I installed it said it needed to update the binary code, which I have seen before, so I let it do it in recovery. I have Phil's recovery. And now it's stuck in a boot loop trying to update binary. I can get into boot loader but when I try to get into recovery mode it just tries to update the binary and won't let me flash anything. I am still S-on, I never looked into going S-off. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Can you not enter fastboot and reflash your recovery?
Or, you might have a zip in the open recovery script folder it's trying to run (likely the supersu.zip)?
I can get into fastboot but when I try to open up recovery to try to flash a backup or a rom it shows the funky android trying to update the binary and goes back into boot loop.
Sounds like you need to flash PhilZ again. One of the roms I flashed erased my recovery for some reason, and the way I found out was same as you trying to update the Su binaries. I re-flashed my recovery and it was fine.
Also if you want help getting S-OFF PM me I'll be happy to help

OTA fails - stock kernel/relock required?

I got an OTA update notification several months ago and wanted to update but realized it won't work as long as I have TWRP Recovery.
Now I decided to install the update. Therefore I flashed a stock recovery (M8_MINI_UL_Stock_Recovery_2.19.401.2.img).
When trying to update, the phone goes to the stock recovery and the update proceeds but after about one quarter of the progress bar, it stops and shows the red exclamation mark (!).
I have stock rom, stock recovery, unlocked bootloader, dt2w kernel.
Do I need to reflash the stock kernel and if so, where can I get it and how can I do it (fastboot flash boot.img?)?
Is it also really required to relock the bootloader in order to succeed in updating and if so, how can I do it?
Regards
So far I've tried flashing original kernel, original recovery and relocking but the update still fails.
I also took the firmware.zip included in the OTA and flashed it via h-boot. Seemed to update bootloader, recovery and radio.
Then I rebooted, again got the update notification and tried to install it.
But still the same error. Any ideas?

Motorola Moto X pure stuck on bootloop after failed root attempt, HELP!!

Hey everyone I just recently got a Moto X Pure with TWRP recovery already installed and the bootloader unlocked, unrooted. The phone was stuck on Marshmallow so I went to update and it would take me to TWRP recovery every time and when I reboot back into the system, I'm still stuck on Marshmallow. So I downloaded an app that would make me download OTA updates while still having TWRP recovery but it needed root access, which I didn't have. I tried all of the one-click root apps but non worked then I stumbled across an easy root method: ( oops it said I can't post links, but basically I downloaded a supersu zip and flashed it) which I followed very precisely and I'm pretty sure I did nothing wrong. But when I flashed the ZIP using TWRP and booted back into system it was stuck on the Motorola logo which I'm assuming is bootloop. I was going to download a stock recovery using fastboot but I discovered that it would relock the bootloader, which would render the device useless to me so I can't. I also tried wiping the Dalvrik Cache but it always failed. I'm new to all of this so please guys I'm desperate for help. Thanks in advance
