Hi Everyone!
I just ordered a Vodafone branded Unlocked Samsung Note 5 (bought it branded as it was $100-$200 cheaper). Anyway I would like to debrand the phone and remove all Vodafone Bloatware. In the good old days of my Samsung S2 it was easy to do that by flashing a stock firmware from international version. Question: Is the process still the same? I haven't had a Samsung phone in quite a while (been trying other alternatives) and I am hearing things about locked bootloaders and Knox counters that wont go away.
Any help would be appreciated.
Best Regards
I have the same question, I see no one has helped you out here. Or did you get a solution for this one?

I have the same question, did you get a solution on this one?
Yes. The process is the same. Identify your Device and flash Stock firmware using Odin.

That's basically what i'm asking, now that Pingpong has allowed us to achieve root on the ATT variant can we benefit from some of the development that has already started or will we have to wait for unified development? Just wondering how different the hardware is for each variant and if things like KT Kernal and Rom's that have been posted in the S6 G920F forum will be compatible with the ATT Variant.
Thanks
It boot loader is locked, we still await either that to be unlocked, the ability to reassign our model number (CSC in the HTC world) once/ if this is achieved, we will be wide open to everything, until then, we can remove all the bloat, system files that are taking up room and using resources and so on.

We have a big jump to make, before we are full blown fun town.
So I wanna know if there is anyway to use safestrap on out devices...I understand it was originally made cause att and Verizon have locked bootloader but I kind like the idea of duel booting ny phone with custom roms... that way of one is messing up I can switch to another....seen a thread were the att one works on the note 3 but what about the note 4???

I wouldn't recommend a safestrap, just get a spigen neo hybrid case and your phone should be pretty safe. At&t note 4 is not locked. I was able to pull off the back cover on my brother's At&t note 4, it's not locked at all. The Rom here are pretty solid, no dueling what's so ever. The same Rom boots up everytime. If your Rom ever messes up then Odin is your best friend. Hope this helps.

Just kidding. Most user here on the Tmo fourum don't know what safestrap is. I do miss the option to dual boot with safestrap though. The bootloader is unlocked for Tmo note 4 so no need for safestrap. I believe the At&t note 4 still to this day has not gotten root. No root = no safestrap development. That was the main reason I ditched At&t and switch over to Tmo. Keeps getting better for Tmo customers with this jump on demand program coming up.

I just upgraded to the note8 N950U and I've been browsing the forums and flashing seems more involved than previous phones.
What is the simplest process to root and then flash custom roms?
Links are fine.
Thanks everyone.

That is the US version? If so development is very, very limited due to the locked bootloader.

Your not giving much info. What version of Android are you on? Just posting you upgraded to the Note 8 doesn't say much for anyone that can try to help you.

If you got lucky and found a Note 8 still on revision 1, 2, or 3 bootloader you can use Samfail to root.

I stand to be corrected but I don't think you can have any form of root/custom roms with bootloader 7
Information you seek is available by reading the forum. Happy modding
I have searched these forums but have not been able to find an answer to my questions.
I recently bought a Sprint N960U unlocked in Canada. I am using a Rogers SIM and it's working but I am stuck on Android 9 Nov2019 firmware.
I want to update to Android 10 using Odin. I have a few questions
From reading these forums I understand I can flash any snapdragon firmware. is that correct? I am planning on installing the sprint firmware just to be safe
Will flashing a new firmware lock my phone (I don't know how the phone was unlocked originally)
I am planning on using the instructions from Sammobile to flash the firmware. Anything else I need to be aware off
I suppose you can do a CSC reset by *#272*IMEI#
Select Rogers or XAC for fully unlocked. This will wipe off your phone though.
Hi, I am now having the exact same situation as yours. The new Note 9 with Sprint stucks on Andriod 9. How did you resolve the issue? Thanks.
Have you checked with Sprint that they show the phone as being unlocked?
