My phone's (XT1053) white back cover is a bit yellowish. Can I know how to clean it?
Try cleaning it with some isopropyl and micro fibre. I wouldn't suggest using any other substance on it so you don't damage the rubberised coating.

Stick a layer of plastic on it.
Ya, red looks ugly, will change to white or black colour soon.

That's what I did too, except mine is a transparent film from BestSkinsEver
what kind of plastic is that? and how did you do it?
Normal transparent coloured plastics. Just a side with gum and a a side is smooth.
Use powerful hair drier to heat the red plastic and stick it... you can spray water onit to bubbles-proof. In this case, my dad didn't use water.

I think Zagg.com had a scratch protector for the back cover.
Is it safe to clean the Nexus 7 screen with a dry microfiber cloth?
Why wouldn't it be? It's safe to touch it with your finger, isn't it?:silly:
as long as your microfiber cloth is clean from any dirt or sand. i got little scratch because when i wipe it, there a small sand with the cloth.
I use my tongue and then wipe it (the tablet) on my jeans. Saves me having to carry a cleaning cloth.
As above, as long as the cloth has no dust or sand on it, it should be fine.

Dry microfiber cloth is fine, just don't use any chemical-based window cleaners or stuff like that.
I usually just soak it under the sink for 10 minutes.

I send mine thru the car wash....if you spring for the wax the screen is silky smooth and shiney!

Am I the only one that runs theirs through the washer and dryer? Nothing beats the warm feel of a nexus 7 fresh out of the dryer with that fresh laundry smell
Oh, I can't be bothered with cleaning it. When it gets dirty, I just throw it in the trash and buy a new one. Nothing beats that static when you remove the foil for the first time!

I use sand paper.
Just be sure to use medium sand paper or it won't clean it.
Sandblasting followed by acid bath. Just don't do it too often or you might void your warranty.
Why clean when your going touch it again?
Sorry gents, but i think we have beaten the humor out of this one.........
OP - as noted, yes, it is perfectly safe (and is the recommended way). You can also add lens cleaner to help clean off stubborn spots.
Case closed.
Does anyone have a link for replacement housing for the VZW Note 2? My housing creaks on the side and back and I would like to replace it.

Subscribed. I would be interested in this as well.
Won't any note 2 housing work? Be careful when taking it apart. I would just buy the back cover first and see if it fixes the creaking before taking it apart.

I have removed the battery cover and it still creaks. I thought there was a difference between the housings but I could be mistaken.

The battery cover is part of the whole thing. Removing it won't make a difference. If you keep it in its more rigid and less likely to creak.

I would go with an att housing so you can take advantage of wireless charging.
iirc that housing has the cut outs for that feature whereas the vzw housing does not.
as for doing the swap, explore YT on how to vids.
Be careful when ordering your new housing. As this guy found out the hard way they are different depending on carrier.

Are there any recommendations for removing the scratches, or polishing them off? I have a tube of Displex that I bought for my PSP screen. Would this work for the camera lens cover on the phone?

Camera lens cover is made of some hard plastic material so probably best not to use any polish on it unless it is a plastic polish.

Displex appears to be some kind of plastic polish. I suppose this would suffice?

I made some lens protectors out of a screen protector....you can always do that so you don't add to the scratches.

I had an old zagg invisible shield I cut to fit the lens

Yeah I may end up doing that as soon as I polish off those scratches.

Here is a set - screen+lens protector
I wish they just sold replacement lenses. That's the only thing I miss about the old phones. The cover was build into the battery back

Does cutting a screen protector for lens cover not effect camera quality?

maybe a little.
But not something noticeable for me
Did polishing work?

I am wondering if you polished the lens cover and if it was successful at removing the scratches. I have a few surface scratches on my HOX+ lens cover, and polishing seems like a reasonable solution. Thanks for any feedback.

This is the only reason I got a cover. When laying the phone flat on its back I felt I kept scratching the lens so now it has a bit more of distance between lens and table.

+1 for me. the lens of my One is always in contact with the surface it's laying on. Had the first scratches on the lens within an hour.
Anyone have any tips to get dirt or anything out of the speakers to keep them nice and clean? Its nothing too serious I just like to keep my phone clean as I'm sure most of you do.
