yeah good luck on that is your phone rooted yet? if its rotted then flashing a recovery can be done! Then your a hop, skip, and a jump away from dropping 2.2 on it!
No i hve not rooted.pls tell how to root it.

I have no idea lol I'm on an evo I don't even know what kind of file system it has or the lock setup and thats something you'll have to speak to a coder about someone who can beat the lock system. If the phone is old it's probably already been done on another droid forum website you just have to find that! Have you looked at all for a root tutorial on your phone?
Thnks for info

[Q] Noob Question - Please Help

I'm a total noob when it comes to rooting, I don't understand any of it. So, here is my problem: I've got an LG 4X HD running Android JB 4.1.2, after I installed the official update a while ago. I'm tired of the newer official updates not coming to this device, si now I want to root it, put 4.4 KitKat on it and make the led notification work. So, if someone can guide me step by step through the rooting process, I would be really grateful. I have read all the posts regarding this device, so please don't give me links to other posts.
Thanks in advance!
You can't just root it and then put KK on it. If you have problems with rooting you will find it unbelievable difficult to unlock bootloader what you need to do in order to install a KitKat custom rom.
I would suggest you to whether read more and try it or just don't do it. If you don't understand how to root you LG 4X HD you will run into big problems

I have just managed to root it. Now I'm trying to unlock the bootloader, but when I'm in /cmd and enter "adb reboot oem-unlock", it says "error: device not found". Can you please help?
You need to install the right drivers (maybe manual).
But those questions been answered many times, please search XDA for the solution.

Unroot files/stock firmware 4.4.2 AT&T GN3

So the AT&T Note 3s just got a 4.4.2 KitKat update, but I am currently rooted and want to unroot, so I need the stock 4.4.2 firmware files. Does anyone know if these are available yet and if not, how long it usually takes for it to be released? I'm a noob here and rooting and unrooting my Nexus 5 was far easier, so please excuse me if I'm asking some dumb questions.
Thanks

Connect your phone to your pc and check out Sony PC Companion if your C5302 has any updates.
According to PTCRB:
http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=23022
Your latest firmware is [12.1.A.1.192]. However, it could be the case that it is not released yet.
Perhaps the latest firmware released for your phone is [12.1.A.0.266]
Wooooooouuu!!! Thanks, exelwnt information

Bobcat Rom questions V7

Quick question. Since drake got banned and I can't ask questions on the thread I have 2 questions. 1. Is there a fix for nfc/sbeam and auto rotation and 2. Is there anybody skilled enough to port Bobcats Rom (with his blessings of course). It would be much appreciated if this rom got its long overdue update.

I know drake was the man at porting roms from the International note 3 but it seems he has abandoned all of his ports and none are up to date. Is there anyone willing to port some of the great roms out there? It seems like our choices of roms are limited. I would love to see the new X-Note and BobCat roms as well as a few more.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Free mobile app
u forgot to mention xnote hopefully someone wil port that rom over as well in the future since we have kitkat Odin now.

I mentioned X note. I would port these suckers myself but I have no idea where to start.

And to answer my own question. I found both fixes. The wifi/nfc fix is here http://fs1.androidfilesharing.com/74f88da21978feed and the screen rotation fix is here. Or if it doesn't direct download the link is posted in the second post highlighted libgnustl_shared.so http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2581550&d=1392504821

Although I know this is possible I had a VERY bad experience trying to flash other varient roms on my previous att note 2 and I jacked it up (and I'm def not a noob at flashing). In the end I couldnt even make phone calls because I think with all that flashing of modems and baseband it corrupted the radio and even stock odin flashing could not fix it. It took me 4 months before I gave up and sold it and I just got this one a few months ago. I dont plan going through that nightmare again lol. Only official ports or roms that are specifically for the sm-n900a for me buddy but thanks for the reference.
