So I looked at my screen tonight on my tilt and it was just black.
My Tilt screen has died before and it was a bright white, this is just black. When the machine goes into power standby the black gets a little darker. It responds to touch.
I was able to connect with MyMobiler and access the phone successfully but it's not longer working for some reason. I can still sync and browse my phone from windows.
I did a search and saw that restoring the phone to factory settings may fix this, but I can't seem to do it without a functioning screen.
Regardless, is this screen bricked? Should I try for another warranty replacement? I've already had one... this is stupid.
Any ideas? Thanks
Does anyone know how to at least reset factory defaults with no screen?

Hard Reset.
Dear Friends:
I had today a very strange problem with my xperia. I did not drop it nor it was exposed to water.
when i turn on the device i get this white halo in the middle of the screen that goes to the corners of the screen. the screen looks washed out.
never had this problem before.
please advise.
Sincerely,
If you only see patches of light around the edges and in the middle on a black background, all it is is a bit of screen bleed, its normal and most x1s are like it. The reason is the X1 has a very strong backlight, if I turn my X1 up to full brightness it hurts my eyes and I find it difficult to look at, when your using the phone normally you dont see it, only when you turn it on, when there is no image.
Xperia screen display problem.
Hi Folks,
I can see lines on my xperia ,the phone has autoadjust backlight set as of now.
When i boot up the phone i thin lines on the screen.
Please advice if its a problem with the display or any other issue.
Cheers
JJ
I experienced exactly the same problem today.
When I connected the phone to my computer, the whole screen went white.
(This was the first time I connected the phone to this particular computer.)
Then I had an incoming call, i unplugged the USB-Cable (SE Original) and took the call - which lasted maybe 10-15 minutes - when I disconnected the call the phone returned to the default today-screen, but there was now a "halo", "ring" around the screen. (See attachment.)
Immediately performed a backup and Hard Reset, but the problem persisted.
So I thought it might be heat-related, so I let the phone be, and half-an-hour later the halo had vanished.
Specs:
Xperia X1i, Swedish.
ROM-version: 1.02.936.3
ROM-date: 08/29/08
Radio: 1.06.25.29
Computer:
MB: Gigabyte EP45-DS3
CPU: Q9450
OS: Windows 7 x64.
Google: Xperia screen white halo ring overheat
I turned my backlight to max and it did not at all look like that.
Send to repair..
Yeah, that's the thing, now it's back to normal I can't make it appear again, not by turning the backlight to max, not by plugging in the cable and taking a call like the last time.
Though I once had a TFT overheat on me, don't ask, I believe it looked similar.
That too returned to normal after about an hour.
So, I guess that's the solution - Don't panic, just wait a couple of minutes.
the ssame thing is happening to me. it gets worse when i receive a call and i would have to turn the screen off and on to return to normal

Do not use the phone in this way! The heat generated by the light will damage your phone, as I have read in various threads. I think you had better take it in for repairs.
I bought this Lumia 1020 off eBay with a broken screen. When I got it the LCD didn't work so I ordered an all in one piece thinking that would fix everything. I put the screen in last night plugged it into the charger and the windows home button blinked until it buzzed but the screen never lit up. I can hold the camera button and the camera will make noise and the flash will go off but nothing else. I can push the screen buttons and they will vibrate but the screen wont light up. I plugged it into the computer and saw that I was charging and had 20% battery power and climbing. I tried to use the windows phone desktop app but it just told me the phone was locked. I took the phone back apart and realized the proximity sensor ribbon was separated from the front camera ribbon. Could the phone shut the screen down if it doesn't get a signal from the proximity sensor? Any and all help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

Can you press the hardware buttons (back/home/search) and it vibrates? I suppose the screen/touch panel is not correctly connected to the device somehow...
