Battery life on 4.1.2

Hello all,
After updating I am getting less battery. I am totally stock. Anyone on the same boat? Share your thoughts.

Mine is better
With moderate use* I went from 18 to 22 hours. I am happy...
* My N7 is not my daily driver, my pc still is... So it sits idle more often than not...
I'm totaly happy with the battery... getting at least a day and a half with normal use.
after updating its definitely drainng fast.
No drain here. I get 10-12 hours a day with heavy use and easily a day with moderate usage. Was roughly the same before update as well.

First of all hello everyone
Yeah I've literally only had my Nexus 7 a matter of a week but I can tell the difference between the battery per and post update. It seems go drain a lot quicker!
Any tips on how to save battery and keep it for as long as possible bar the obvious app killer etc...

If anything, mine has got slightly better. Used to have less than 18% by 8pm, now its more like 25%. I use it pretty much all day for YouTube, Engadget, Flipboard, Tapatalk, Chrome, music and a couple of hours of games.

4326mAh battery, 2A charger, 2.1 hours theoretically. Realistically, 2.5-3.0 if pretty much empty.
If you're using a non standard cable or charger, who knows what the charger is actually outputting. If you're charging from your computer USB Port, that's 500mAh, so 8.6+ hours. Some random phone charger, probably 1000mAh, 4.3+ hours, etc.
The brightness of the display adds to some of the drain I notice, when possible I keep mine somewhat on the dimside, obviously if I'm in an area of bright light and it hard to see then I'll crank up the brightness.
Can't complain about battery usage.. It's amazingly energy efficient even on a stock kernel considering the horsepower this thing has.. I average 20hrs or so with moderate to heavy usage.

I am very satisfied with battery life. 2 and a half days with 4,5 hours of screen on. IMHO not bad at all.
I'm getting 7.1hrs non stop. Games, movies, social apps, chats, YouTube literally non stop.

I think battery life is pretty good
I've had really bad drains since 4.1.2. I think I've narrowed it down to an issue with Google Play. I've noticed it several times - Very good battery life, but then it will go down fast, even when sitting unused. If I check battery usage, Google Play is always number one with >50% of the use.
If I force close GP, all will be well for about a day, but eventually it happens again.
I also felt it, but only by that much...not too obvious. From full charge, after only night idle, drop 3 percent compare to last time 1 or 2 percent

battery life
Hallo!
Same problem, battery drain is faster, with normal use 12 hours (before 17) and when charging phone it's just 99%. With factory reset same resoult. Now I try without all gps conections.
Anyone have good solution?

Request to Mugen Power to supply us better battey

hello to all nexus 4 members. due the low life battery of the nexus 4 i consider to requesst from Mugen power to create us
better alternative to make a battery like 3600mah or more. for you who didnt know mugen power are company that makes extened and very strong battaries alternatives to a lot of smartphones. here the website
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
you can google reviiews and youtube for comprasion for stock battaries and their battaries. i found that there are cases that their battaries are twice stronger than normal battaries. ok back to our issue- i know that the battery of nexus 4 is not
replaceable but i read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013947. so now with little work anyone can take out his nexus 4 battery.
the problem is there is not alternative in the market i thought that if we (a lot of members of nexus 4 of this great forum)
will ask them in 4 ways

to mugen power they will create some good decent battarey for us although its little complicated to take out the stock battarey.
suggestions? opinions? can it work? i say lets blast them with requests. if they will see thare are a lot of future costumers for thier product they can make us some unique battarey.
They are a company based out of Hong Kong. They will definitely jump in IF there is a demand for it.
In HK, Samsung is the king in smart phones so it might take them a while to build something that is too new.
With the shortage now, I think it won't happen soon.

isn't mugen power to rice up a honda:laugh:
MUGEN cheats the mAh rating though
The nexus 4 doesn't have poor battery life. Mine gets awesome battery life now that I do not have a bunch of widgets like hd widgets going.

The nexus 4's somewhat bad battery life is solely software related. Just wait for someone to figure out where the wakelocks come from and you'll see great battery life.
Also, undervolt your CPU and you should be getting close to 5 hours screen on time.

3.5 hrs screen time and within that 1.5hrs game
I do not consider this bad battery... Especially when this gab m me I'd a battery hog and requires a lot of resources to run
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
the battery is good, its software releated, if you want more life you could use setcpu and restrict your speed, I got mine max at 800mhz and its fine, 4-5 hours screen time is possible with this phone,my best is 5 hours,22 hours on at 1000mhz max
Same here, I'm getting pretty amazing battery life. I get about 5 hours screen on time with just about a days worth of battery. Or I get about 2 days of battery on lighter use (about 3-3.5 hours screen on). For me wifi is on full-time and brightness is lowest at night and just less than 50% in the day.
I'm on Franco's kernel with no further changes.

I'm at 5h of screen use right now (PA stock kernel) and I think it's quite good actually. I wouldn't have said no to a Mugen battery pack but since the N4 have a closed back it's not just a matter of simply posing a new battery cover, it would be to much hassle for me. I would purchase an external USB battery pack instead.

Was getting poor battery life, Google Services Framework was the top culprit.
I disabled maps location updating and now battery life is fantastic.

Amazing battery life here as well. Running LTE and max brightness. Take that! In my opinion, as long as it lasts a day then I am fine. I hear people who claim that they get 1.5 days on their iPhones. Instead of charging it at night they keep it till the next day then scramble around panicking when they need to find a charger at mid-day.
First, I'd like to say that I average 4-5h of screen on time with my N4, and my battery easily lasts throughout the day, even with my heavy usage. Here's a screenshot of today, for example:
But if you really need an extended battery, rather than Mugen, I'd actually like to see Anker do one for the N4. I have a 1900mAh Anker in my old HTC Sensation, and it's a world of difference compared to the stock 1520mAh battery. It's also the exact same size, so no special cover is needed. It's slightly heavier too, so all things considered, I'd bet Anker isn't lying about their mAh rating. They get solid reviews everywhere, too, which is why I chose them to cure the awful Sensation battery issue (if you think the N4's stock battery is bad, you seriously need to try that phone! )
No battery issue here..

Battery life on the One compared to Nexus 4 ?

Curious if anyone here previously owned the Nexus 4, and moved up the the HTC One, how's the battery life in comparison, with similar everyday use ?
I am looking at possibly getting the One. My Nexus 4 I get around 4h to 5h at best On Screen time, and overall daily battery life of around 10h to 12h on workdays being on the Network and no WiFi, and weekends I get 16h to 18h totally battery life with WiFi. How does the HTC one compare ?
And overall how do you like the One over the N4 in other areas ?
Yes, this is a screen, of 4 day ago!
I really love this battery
I came from N4 to HTC One.
HTC One battery is better.
I have some concerns at the performance of the codecs when playing video though - they don't seem very optimized and means a lot of battery is used when playing video (flash on youtube is fine though).
HTC One battery is slightly better

Battery life Question for Note 7 owners who had the Note 5

For those of you who upgraded to the Note 7 coming from a Note 5, how does the battery life compare in real world usage?
I know on paper, its a 16% increase, but is it a noticeable improvement in day to day use?
Do the higher specs and the always on actually cancel out the increase in battery capacity so that the typical battery life is roughly the same as what you experienced with the Note 5?
I've tried reading reviews and scoured through youtube reviews of the Note 7 but could not get much on this particular subject.
Thank you in advance for any helpful input! :victory:
I had the note 5 since the launch date same thing with the note 7. I noticed the battery life is a bit better. My note 5 barely got 5:30 hours but yesterday I got 6 hours and still had 30% of battery life left.
