When the Moto X 2013 came how, how fast was it when motorola updated the phone to the latest version? I mean say the Nexus 5 got 4.0 on Nov 1st. How soon after did Motorola update the Moto X to 4.0?
um
I read an artical saying motorola has made a website to show which devices will get the new update and i think it said it should get it around nov. 3

I wouldn't expect the process to be the same.
The Moto X was a new approach for Google/Motorola at the time.
A lot of lessons have been learned since then.
I think they finally 'get' that updating phones to the newest platform as quickly as possible is in their benefit.
All this fragmentation is like a rash that won't go away and they don't like it at all. We consumers don't either.
As a result, Google has been pressing other phone manufacturers like Samsung and HTC to release updates to their skinned devices quicker, so it would be kind of stupid if they didn't lead by example in this area.
It's my hunch that Lollipop will be released on Motorola devices very quickly....but it's just a hunch.

I think your hunch is right. I just got an email for some test software
Plus, they sent out the L preview was ahead of time and have updated it. Which means not just developers have been able to work with it, but OEMS as well. They may not have the final L version, but they've been able to work with L in some way since June. That gives them a great head start that they didn't have before.
Yep just got my soak test invite too

I got the invite but no DL yet
Same here. I unrooted (after rooting earlier with jcase's supersu boot img) according to instructions and flashed stock recovery/boot image, but the bootloader is still showing "Software status: Modified." Does anybody know if there will be an issue with the OTA because of that or if there's anyway to get that to disappear without a factory reset?

Same, got an invite for soak test. I don't think bootloader unlocked is a problem. But everything else needs to be stock
I would like root to be available once the soak test is available. I hope chainfire has something by then. If not, idk if I want to participate

Nope, you'll get your ota just fine as long as your system files are not modified, you have stock recovery and kernel. Unlocked boot loader is not an issue.
Excellent. Hopefully it works
Guys, who got invite for soak test, do you have ATT Moto X or Pure?
What is the soak test/why is it called that?
I didn't even know about the Motorola feedback until yesterday. I signed up, but I wonder if I'm too late?

How long does the soak test normally run before the release is generally available?
Help please where can i found the firmwares to unbrick a moto x xt1097 from At&t , or if it possible to unbrick it with other retail firmware from a other carrier for the xt1097 ?
Usually motofirmwares, but they are down right now. Ill find the link I used soon.

Damn thanks! CaiKroll!
link doesn't work. my at&t moto x 2014 doesn't have ota updates more than 5.1
i found a thread the other night and i'd like someone with more knowledge on the subject.
hopefully this can get us closer to unbricking our moto x 2014 on our own...instead of relying on motorola.
it has a few downloads as to the necessary files however i only get to an error 'flash failed'
http://wwwdotusoftsmartphonedotcom/t300062.html
thats the actual thread maybe someone can look in to it.
:good:

No it does not help at all. That page has the files for the 2013 moto x, which do not help nor work with our phone. That site has bad info, sorry.

ahh damn lol
For what it's worth...the blankfalsh.bat file does recognize the moto x 2014 and does try to flash...so maybe if we had the correct boot to flash it might work??

That's the problem. We don't have the files. Only motorola has them. Motorola does NOT release them. The only way we will get the files is if they leak. So until that happens there is no way to fix a hard brick.

I got a soak invite yesterday for the T-Mo test, but apparently my current build wasn't eligible. I shouldn't be running an old build, but maybe? I'm on NCX26.7.
