Phone not booting after update - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, yesterday i update cm12.1 to 0918 build but i facing freezes and heating issues (the system hangs and i had to force reboot), tried to install tangerine kernel to change governors but no effects.
So i decide to reinstall a previuos build, i uninstall t-kernel and return to twrp_v6. But when reboot to recovery i have bootloop and cant enter to recovery, so i flash back the fota kernel to have back the cm recovery.
Now i cant even boot the phone, when press the power button i see a blinking green light and then nothing.
Should i try to flash back sony stock rom (4.3)? or a way to recover the boot partition? and if starting from 4.3 i can flash 5.1 or pass by 4.4 (i remember the first build of lollipop requires a 4.4 rom to install)
EDIT: i found tangerine 6.6 and fastboot, the phone boots, but after the kernel logo stop loading. if trying to go to recovery i have bootloop on twrp logo. now i cant shut down the phone.

Shutdown your phone by using the yellow button on the back.
If you want to recover the boot partition, I'd suggest you to flash stock fotakernel and boot.img of your ROM using flashtool.
Open your ROM zip with winrar and extract the boot.img from there.

the yellow button only reboots the device but after some bootloops shutdown itself. reflashing fota and boot not working, so i finally managed to reflash stock 4.3 with flashtool. thanx anyway
EDIT: i think (but not sure and no proof) the issue was caused by latest twrp recovery

you need to hold down the button for like 10+ seconds,
once it vibrates 3 times, stop holding it.
The phone will shut down.
Glad your prob was solved.
Welcome

[Q] [HELP] Stuck on bootloop, phone reboots when trying to flash stock ftf

Hey!
I tried flashing CM10.1 but something went wrong when I flashed the boot.img. Whenever I try to flash a new boot.img in fastboot the phone reboots before the install is complete. I then tried to install the Doomkernel v06 through recovery (both CWM and TWRP), it seems like it works and I tried to install another room I had (KA05), still stuck in bootloop.
There is no green led when entering flashboot, but the flashtool finds the phone before it restarts again.
So yeah.. I'm rather stuck with no possibility of flashing stock ftf and no way of flashing anything but the Doomkernel v06 through recovery.
[SOLVED!!]
I managed to solve this by trying to install different roms and kernels. Ended up with Cyanogenmod (the one I was trying in the first place).
Not sure I'll be able to change back to anything though, but yeah at least it's not dead
Oh, and the kernel and rom I tried with was on the internal SD from earlier (backup if something went wrong)
ok, I managed to get into Cyanogenmod 10.1 now!
However, I don't have service, and it doesn't appear to find my sim-card

Help!! GNOTE stuck at samsung BOOT screen after repartitioning because of hard brick

guys a had some really bad time running into this faulty ICS ROM and den by fault bricking it.
then after searching for hours i found this post by forest1971 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26285877for unbricking GNOTE by repatitioning the internal sdcard after finding faulty bricked blocks.
as i could not reboot into recovery.
so i used one of the PIT files provided in his post and flashed it via PC ODIN to revive my bricked GNOTE.
later i was able to get into recovery.
then i thought of flashing STOCK jelly bean DDLSC 4.1.2 ROM and i was able to flash it easily via PC ODIN.
then i phone rebooted and got stuck on samsung jelly bean BOOT screen.
i waited for hours for it to start(pass that boot screen) but all in vain.
SO now i ma stuck at the BOOT screen so can any1 please help me and tell me what to do now??
first try flash safe kernel, use philz kernel, flash it from recovery(.zip) or pc odin(.tar) reboot recovery, and make full wipe..reboot your phone..
if still stuck on bootloop.
maybe TW Rom is to big for you now, try flash Slim Bean
Just make sure you have safe kernel+cwm first.

first of all thanks for replying that fast..
and second thing is that i am not in a bootloop instead my phones just stuck at the samsung BOOT screen.
somehow if i keep rebooting again and again i get to pass that BOOT screen but then my phone would get stuck at "android is upgrading" screen or it pass that too then it would freeze at those startup wizard configuration mostly at the wifi page.
Also i did try to install paranoid 3.15 and had the same result (stuck at bOOT screen) so i think i mean i think (not much of an expert in this kind of stuff) the size is not a problem.
and also i have flashed this safe PHILZ kernel for DDLSC which i am using now.

reboot in download mode if you can and use pc odin to flash the ASOP ROM like supernexus 2.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076697
this may resolve the issue.

yes i can reboot into download mode.

but later on it would freeze after like 10-20 seconds and then i have to reboot the system again and
the ROM will start but again freezes within 10-20 seconds of startup.
so please help me to get rid of dese freezes.

[Q] CWM looping after running CM Downloader

Hi all,
Hoping someone knows how to solve this issue.
I have been running the CM10.2 nightlies and downloading and flashing manually without too much issue.
I decided to try the app 'CyanogenROM Downloader' aka CM Downloader.
It worked fine to download the latest nightly but when I used a future which booths the phone into CWM and flashes automatically it just started looping.
It loads CWM and starts flashing but only gets a quarter of the way through before the screen flickers and the flash starts from the beginning.
If I reboot the phone by holding power and volume up until it buzzes 3 times it still loads directly into CWM and attempts to flash again but gets stuck in the same loop.
Do I have to flash back to a stock ROM now using flashtool to fix this?
I have the same issue on PAC nightlies. Try to flash an older or custom (with twrp) kernel to use recovery and flash the newest cm over it.

Thanks for the reply.
The issue was it wouldn't let me into the recovery menu.
All good now. I left it off for an hour and it booted fine. I manually launched CWM and flashed the ROM and it worked fine. I'll let the CM Downloader app devs know of the issue.

[N910C][TUTORIAL]TWRP Recovery on 5.1.1. (No root)

Hi guys Recently Samsung released 5.1.1 for our devices! So I decided to make a easy tutorial on how to install TWRP on our devices (unfortunately without root).
1. Download newest odin from Here!
2. Reboot to download mode.
3. Download this file TWRP RECOVERY
4.Flash it with AP option.
5. Done! Now You should be able to boot into TWRP Recovery.
Info
Can I restore my previous custom rom now?
Yes and no. I tried restoring two roms. AOSP and TW, aosp had a bootloop then successfully booted, and TW didn't seem to boot at all.
Does it root my device/Can I root my device now?
Nope, not yet. I tried to make a custom rom with root built in but it was stuck in a bootloop.
Why would I need this?
Well. Now You can restore Your rom, and flash other roms(Some may fail due to a newer bootloader).
Any bugs?
Sometimes first boot after flashing this recovery might bootloop, but just remove Your battery and turn on Your phone again.(Happened only once to me)

Yes... I did manage to restore the backup image of 5.1 as I ended up in bootloop while trying for the root access. So far OK with at least TWRP is working.
I have a question, If I'm on 5.1.1 and I've installed this TWRP, By using this TWRP RECOVERY, can I install 5.0.1 custom rom via zip file?
I do not mean to restore my backup rom. I mean I do a fresh installation

It seems to bootloop roms that need 5.0 bootloader. But AOSP rom that runs on 5.1.1 boots up without any problems. Just during boot You might see message "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and then the rom should boot up.
I flashed twrp via odin and it says pass then reboot after that when i try to enter recovery it get me to stock recovery any clue why is that and how to solve this ? v.v
Thanks a ton bro.
thank u so much guys

Hi I could really use some help here my phone had some trouble so I had to wipe it out and reinstall the 5.1.1 lollipop when I did so however I lost the recovery partition I was using TW RP I have since tried to reinstall it and Odin says that it is successful yet when I try to boot into the recovery partition I get to default recovery partition that comes with the phone I've also tried using the CWM recovery image and it does the same thing says its successful but I can't boot into it because it boots into the default one any idea what is going on and what I can do. I should also note that I've tried reinstalling the 5.0.1 version of lollipop and that has failed in Odin any ideas would be greatly appreciated because at the moment I have no way to root my phone I can't flash the custom kernel that's needed for 5.1.1 or anything else for that matter please help thank you

Easiest way on odin is make sure auto reboot is unchecked. When its done unplug the cable pull the battery put it back in boot into twrp Let me know how it works out for you.

i left my phone then i came back i found it stuck in booting loop and power botton just restart it i dont know what happened i wasn't installing anything nor doing anything ....
firmware marshmallow 6
and its rooted and i installed twrp on it
i tired using the option wipe to wipe cache still nothing
You don't say what ROM you are on, meaning you're probably on stock. Either flashing a stock ROM image using Fastboot or installing a custom ROM through TWRP should resolve your problem.
Or backup next time.
