Viber? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just switched to Note 5 and I'm experiencing issue with viber. It automatically turns on when i get any type of message. I looked in the settings and nothing there helped. Does anyone know how to prevent it from staring when i get messages?
Thanks

Look in your Viber settings, its somewhere in there.
I'm almost 100% certain of this because I just got my Note 5 today and set Viber up a few hours ago and noticed something in the options for it.
Hope this helps.

Just checked and still didn't see anything that would affect this.

Nothing there helps. The phone app still wakes up whenever I get a normal text

In that case, I'm not sure what it is. I don't think it has to do with Viber then.

What happened to my battery chart here?

Phone wasn't plugged in while I was sleeping. Chroma 7/19 with included kernel. T-Mobile + Wi-Fi Calling preferred.
I can't say I've ever seen this happen. Any ideas?

It looks like a glitch in the matrix. If you reboot does it go back to normal?

Any new apps or app updates? Something is using the heck out of your phone when you're not. I'd install a wakelock detector,,,, here's one that shows compatible with Lollipop.
Oops I forgot the link, my bad

That normally happens to me when I I have the phone powered on, but not in the OS. Like in the recovery or whatever.

That would make sense. It was just in the OS, screen off, etc. Just sitting there.

Repeat Notification

I recently upgraded to a Note 5 from the Galaxy S5 active. It was very easy to set on the S5 but I cannot get my unread text message notification repeat setting to work on the Note 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good luck
I've set it there and it still doesn't work. Oddly enough I downloaded Textra and used it for about 2 weeks and it worked fine with that app, just not the messages app.

There isn't an option there to set repeat notifications.

I don't have that option on that screen. I have everything except repeat message alert.
I've had Note 5 for 6 months and repeat notifications has been driving me CRAZY! I looked everywhere (I thought) for a setting to disable it. Thank you for pointing me to this setting!
No more turning my phone OFF at night to stop it making noises every minute! (Even with Do Not Disturb enabled!)

This weird dot sometimes appear on the notification bar

I think it's probably to show where the camera is located on the bar.

In screen as well as on screenshots. When I first saw it I was worried there's a fault in my display. It disappeared but it appeared today again. Its gone now.
For me, this has never appeared.

It hasn't happened since I made the post so I guess it's very rare.

WTH Happened to My Google Assistant

Not sure how this happened or how to fix this but suddenly, I'm back to the old GA and it acts as if it can't hear me in most cases, when I try and use it.

I'm guessing you've tried the simple things first like clearing the cache, making sure the app is up to date?

I have. It's the craziest thing. there's no real way to uninstall it and reinstall it so, I might just factory reset this phone. It's probably about due for one anyhow

You can make sure you're on the latest build, Google app/settings/about, I'm on 12.7.7.29

That's it. I wonder why I'm getting the old cards and not the new colored line at the bottom of the screen as I have since I got this phone when it was released when I activate assistant, not to mention, it almost never "hears" my commands now, like "Open SiriusXM", "Call XXXXXXXX", "Open Amazon Music", etc....

Question persistent "NFC tag detected" after updating to MIUI14 Official Rom

Hi,
since the update (via OTA) of my 11 Ultra to MIUI 14 (official rom), I constantly get the following notification:
"NFC tag detected
Looks like you haven't interacted with detected NFC tags for a long time. Your device won't read or write tags for n..."
the text ends there and tapping on the notification does not do anything. Pressing on it only gives me the snoozing button and the settings button, which redirects me to the NFC Service on the phone where the "show notifications" is on and cannot be turned off.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I have tried disabling this via ADB following this guy's suggestion but no luck.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/uzk22m
any help?
thanks
gotta be the online one i guess...
Getting this too, typical MIUI software design stupidity.

I just can't believe no one else has complained about it. I'm literally thinking of changing my phone because of it. I get this notification every 5 minutes and it hits won't go away!!
