Can you reboot into recovery again and enter to fastboot mode?
Can go between fast boot and the Bootloader menu but if I hit reboot, it just comes back to Bootloader. If I pick recovery it just flashes for a second and comes back to Bootloader. I am S-off btw.

ok so the guide walks me up to the point of installing fastboot for unbuntu using a couple cmd lines but for my specific situation will I need any files saved in specific locations? I have never used Ubuntu or Linux before so youll have to bear with me.
Ok so im in Ubuntu, I think I have the guide pretty much figured out, but It still doesnt want to detect my device. I installed ADB according to the guide, but "sudo fastboot devices" comes up blank and the phone only says "fastboot" not "fastboot usb"
entering the command to flash CWM gives me the same waiting for device message. I have tried multiple USB cables as well.

the phone has to say FASTBOOT USB, otherwise it's a problem with the port (phone/PC/cable).
ubuntu doesn't have driver issues, but when you connect your phone to the PC, it has to change from FASTBOOT to FASTBOOT USB.

It doesnt change, so then its likely something with the system partition as it relates to the USB port? Because the port was working fine until the failed flash. But what it sounds like is this is a brick?

doesn't sound like a brick at all, as long a hboot (ie bootloader is fine) no brick should be involved.
but i have to call it a night, hopefully someone will be along shortly, and take over... (timezones ) take it ease, DO NOT PANIC, DO NOT RUSH things!!
Cool, all your help is greatly appreciated. So I should hold off on the trip to the phone store?
Any other ideas to get communication to the phone?
Different Computer, USB Port, and USB Cable. Without saying FASTBOOT USB on the phone, can't do anything.
I ran the Cyanogenmod factory reset and now the phone will not boot. It is stuck on the Cyanogenmod boot logo. If I boot to the fastboot it tells me device is still unlocked with s-off. From there it will not boot further or go into recovery. If I try to go into recovery it sits at the Android boot logo.
If I need to do anything complicated to fix please explain. I haven't messed with the phone other than rooting, unlocking, and flashing roms.
Thanks!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I go into fastboot and it turns red and says "Fastboot USB" however I do not see the device in My Computer. Is there another way to run those commands or do I need to have access to it from my pc?

You won't see the device, partitions and all.
It should only be present in device manager.
Try the command:
fastboot devices
it should get you the SN on your phone.
If u are new to fastboot and ADB try this article http://techbeasts.com/2014/01/05/useful-adb-and-fastboot-commands-and-how-to-them/
and this one even better:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225405
After you understand fastboot and adb, and also performed the 2 commands above, if u deleted the zip archive of your ROM to flash again your phone, you will have to push or sideload a ROM, see point E) from this thread:

Try to see if u can install drivers manually:
Download the Windows7 (64 Bit) drivers here - http://d-h.st/OYI
Unzip to any location you want. Just remember where you put them.
Plug in your phone FASTBOOT to your USB cable .
Open your Device Manager (Windows Key + X and select Device manager) and locate HTC under Other Devices and right click on it and select Update Driver Software
Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Click Browse and then select the folder you unzipped with the drivers in it then click next.
It should now install your drivers and then in your device manager it will now show up "My HTC" under Android USB Devices.

Still nothing. BTW that driver is older than the others.
Let me clarify a little.
Driver you gave me is installed and phone shows up in device manager when in fastboot usb mode.
However if I type "adb devices" I get the response "List of Devices" with nothing under it. There are no devices listed.
If I boot the phone normally and get hung on the Cyanogenmod Boot screen the command will show my device serial.

Well, if u don't see a new device in Device Manager when u plug your phone, is either Windows or your phone.
U already swiched usb ports.
Try another computer.
If that doesn't work, it's your phone's usb port, and that is a hardware problem.

I HAD my ROM zip however the SDCard partition is toast apparently. Error is "E: Can't Mount /SCDARD"
Last night I was on my nexus before I would go to bed. I opened the franco kernel app and then noticed that r6 was available for download. I downloaded and flashed it and was about to go to sleep when I noticed the notification light that my phone was charging. I thought it was neat then tried to get some sleep, but my promised sleep did not come quick. After a good chunk of time had passed, I thought that my lack of sleep was caused by the green light that was barely noticable. I searched and searched in the app to try and find an option to disable the LED, but could not. I then decided that the best way to get rid of the light, would be to flash the older r5 kernel so I wouldn't have to see the light anymore. I hit flash and my phone rebooted and then brought me to the bootloader. I attempted to reboot but I could not. I've tried using adb and nexus root toolkit to get my device to work again, but they can't seem to find it without the correct drivers. I installed Motorola device manager, nothing. I tried to follow the instructions in the toolkit to get the correct drivers installed but I can't continue with the need to enable debugging, which I cannot do from being stuck at the bootloader.
Under bootloader logs, I have the following messages:
Invalid boot image size!
failed to validate boot image
Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from normal boot mode
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
USB debugging is an android setting. It can only be used when android is running. If you had USB debugging on, it would make absolutely no difference in recovery or bootloader so don't let that step stop you.
From the logs, it sounds like your kernel download is corrupt or didn't flash properly. I had a similar message when I flashed a partially downloaded recovery image today.
Just fastboot flash a complete boot image
I tried that last night by launching adb and doing 'adb devices' but my device is unrecognized and I am unsure of how to go about fixing that.

Tried what exactly? Adb and fastboot are two different things. Adb works in android or recovery only. Fastboot works in boot loader only. Boot to boot loader and do "fastboot devices"
Ah that was my mistake. But the fastboot devices command just returns a new line for a new command to be entered in

That probably means there is a blank line between them - showing that no device is found. Unlike Adb it just gives a blank line instead of "no devices".
Probably means a driver issue or cable issue. Try different USB ports / cables if you can. Check to see if there are any yellow triangles in device manager too.
I'm new to this phone so I don't know where the drivers are if you need them. If I ever find them, I'll port my nexus 5 Adb and fastboot thread over here. Unfortunately i use Linux at home so I don't really have a driver issue.
Oh, so if I were to use Linux I wouldn't have to deal with missing drivers? I'm assuming that's the issue since no matter which port I use, 'Connect USB Data Cable' doesn't change

I can't say for sure. In Linux you may need to add UDEV rules. I didn't though. My bootloader is just recognised.
Please do check your device manager though.
I'm sorry i can't help more right now. I'm going to bed.
Okay, thank you! I'll reply if I encounter any other errors!

Use Linux dude, also try different cables. My stock g4 came with a bad cable that only charged.
I've had exactly the same problem as hammy88. Is what is referred to as "fastboot mode" the same as download mode? I know it's relatively easy to get into download mode. But "adb reboot bootloader" doesn't work for me.
Fastboot mode ≠ Download mode
If you did tick "Enable OEM unlock" , and adb reboot bootloader doesn't work, then I guess is BL is locked now.
I tried the method , i found that Android Bootloader does not have a green light, so i went to device manager to try to update the driver but it wasn't even there, clicked on view to show the hidden items or whatever then found android device, when i clicked update the driver i could not find the Google fastboot thing to update it with, all i got was either LG usb or ADB interface even thoough i downloader google fastboot usb drivers few days ago

Brother, be calm. Find the fastboot drivers. And update.
You will figure it out. Just do it.
With your phone on, make sure under developer options oem unlocking is allowed. . .
Then plug in the device to the computer....
Time for the fun to begin....
In ADB
Adb reboot bootloader (it takes your phone to bootloader mode)
Fastboot flashing unlock (warns you not to)
Click Yes when prompted on phone. (YAY!!!)
Please don't forget to save anything you need from ur phone , unlocking your bootloader will fully wipe your device ?
Quick question, Is it supposed to just be text on the bottom left that says fastboot mode?. I've done this on a couple of other phones but this is the first time I haven't seen a menu, also when I run fastboot flashing unlock I'm stuck on fastboot flashing unlock.

Turn on your phone, and do not connect to pc. Revoke USB debugging authorisation. Disable USB debugging. Enable USB debugging. Now connect your phone to pc. You should get a message on your phone about allowing USB debugging from that pc. Click don't ask again and then yes.
If you don't get that message try accessing phones storage through pc , that should prompt the phone to ask you about allowing USB debugging from that pc.
So click yes.
Now you should be able to run fastboot commands without problems.

No, sorry that is wrong.
ADB permission is not needed for fastboot. These are 2 different programs, with different protocals .
The fact there is no response from phone when in fastboot is a sign that pc drivers are not correctly installed, or the fastboot program needs to be updated.
