First of all - tab s2 8" doesn't have aptx codec!!!!! I can't understand samsung and those decisions but loosing aptx codec it's a very bad move. T815 has it!!!
BTW someone knows what audio codec has?
At the time of writing the post only the bigger tab s2 was listed on aptx official site. Also on samsung specs is not listed...
It has aptx codec
http://www.aptx.com/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-s2-80
I wonder, if don't, both devices seems to be absolutely same. .....

Isn't this codec for BT only.
Aptx is blutooth codec only
Yes, it's only for bluetooth but brings CD audio quality wireless. I own an htc car a100 adapter and the sound is much better using aptx than normal audio profile

There are number of phones compatible with AptX/AptX HD (https://www.aptx.com) - any ideas if Note 8 Exynoss version is also AptX compatible?

Yes, I've got a Exynos SM-N950F and I just checked the logcat whilst connecting my AptX headphones. Various mentions of the aptx library are mentioned along with this:
Code:
[ 09-22 10:57:03.226 4364: 4928 D/CODEC_IF_MOD ]
codec_open: apt-x encoder initialized successfully
chhers mate!
Interesting. I never knew about this enhanced BT audio standard. So, you are saying that any BT audio device that supports this aptx will work fine with our new Note 8 phones?
Yes, it's not that new either. I bought AptX compatible stuff for my Note 3.
Is it normal with APTX to still get a huge BT delay when gaming ?
I have a Sennheiser HD1 wireless in-ear and im certain it supports APTX.
Question. It seems that BT 5.0 headphones choice is scarce. Where can I find set that ticks both boxes; aptx and 5.0 ?

What we want is APTX HD and LDAC codecs. Especially the LDAC.
Hopefully these will come with Oreo (in a year's time) but they should provide substantial improvements with compatible headphones. Up to 3 x the data bandwidth and 24bit/96K audio with LDAC.
I asked Samsung support about these codecs and their answer was that the Note 8 is NOT COMPATIBLE with modern bluetooth headphones.
Enjoy your 'flagship' phone
Has anyone here tried the Samsung Galaxy Buds with the P20 Pro? Does it work well?
I'm considering buying them but I have concerns regarding the bluetooth codec compatability and the difference in bluetooth versions.
There was a review published by The Verge yesterday for the Galaxy Buds - they don't seem all that tbh.
Might be worth looking at something else?

I have them since yesterday. They use AAC on the P20 pro (even though thats not a supported codec according to Huawei's spec sheet) and seem to work fine so far. No connection drop outs if I am in the proximity of my phone. Pairing was easy with the Samsung Wearable app.

I watched the video too. I used the Taotronics BH-026 (bluetooth but not truly wireless) until I got the buds. Sound quality is similar as long as you activate the dynamic equalizer in the app. Cannot say if thats a good thing or not since I am comparing them to 20 € headphones.
I dont think the ambient sound mode is not as "roboty" as the verge says but more a gimic than a useful feature. The microphones seem to do an acceptable job with a recording app but I have not tried to do an extended phone call with them.
I have updated my Note 9 to enjoy the Dex wireless's function.
However, I cannot connect the Note 9 with my TV because the Sony AF9 does not support screen mirroring.
Is there a solution to make up for this?
Thanks
I have a 2011 Samsung UE40D6100 TV which also doesn't support Miracast. I bought an AnyCast M9 Plus (although i think it's fake xd) and both Smart View and Wireless DeX work fine.
Buy the Dex cable

I have seen that AnyCast M9 Plus supports up to 1080p.
Having a 4K's TV I would like to take advantage of the maximum resolution (1440p) of Dex wireless.
Therefore, is there a miracast dongle that supports 4K?

AnyCast M100 is for you then: https://any-cast.com/products/m100-wireless-display
Just make sure you actually order it from their real site. Otherwise you may end up with a fake like me which might not support 4K. My TV is 1080p so I'm happy even with my fake one haha.
As per the title. Or if anyone knows if the DAC is any good.
Couldn't find any info online.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro Global Version which I am having all the available Bluetooth codecs. It has AptX, aptx HD,aptx Adaptive, aptx tws+, LDAC and LHDC. It worked perfectly, tried LHDC on supported earbuds like Oppo Enco X it's good.
Hello all,
I've been thinking of getting the Edge 30 Ultra since i've seen some decent discounts on it in the uk.
I was wondering however if anyone can confirm if the phone supports AptX HD when connected to headphones / bluetooth speakers that support it.
Products | aptX
www.aptx.com
The Edge 30 Ultra is not listed but the X30 Pro is. I think any phones with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 should support most of the aptx codec.
