[Q] SmartView scale issue

Hi,
One of the reasons I've chosen Galaxy Note was that I have a Samsung D series TV at home and I'd like to use SmartView application on my Note.
Unfortunately phone version of SmartView does not scale good on the 1280x800 Galaxy Note screen.
Is there a solution for this ?
In general, is there a solution for screen scale on Galaxy Note ?

What dpi are I on? Seems to be Samsung apps that don't scale properly, for other apps that don't sale properly I use nitrality to scale to 240 and have application scaling ticked, that seems to fix all my apps so far other than Samsung apps.

none of the samsung touchwiz apps scale to lower DPI
Can u check if s-memo scales properly with nitrality. ( too laszy to install myself )

we don't have any chance with SmartView on Note ?

correct me if i am wrong, but isnt galaxy tab 10.1 has the same resulution as the galaxy note?
could there be a tab version of the smart view app?
i downloaded the one on the market. the dual view show up but it has some decoding error.
Edit: the smart remote app tab version works perfectly on the note... so i guess it's a tab none tab problem...
maybe someone with a galaxy tab 10.1 can try to pull the apk and try it

tab version should be compiled for Android 3.x
So, I believeit won't work on Note (which is Android 2.3.x)

:/ for me the remote app tab version runs and detects the tv, but then after i click to connect to the tv it FCs ... weird, have no idea what can be wrong, the smartview app works fine

ooops sorry, didn't subscribe to the thread so I ended up forgetting about it ._.
What I meant is, smartview works, instead of FCing like the remote app for the TAB, but smartview does not scale properly also for me.
In the market i do not find smartview for TAB, only the remote app.
The remote TAB app scales properly, if it wasn't incompatible with android 2.3.6 shouldn't it fc as soon as I try to launch it? it only fcs after I try the demo or try to connect to TV.

I think we have to find the Smartview app for Galaxy Tab 10
can any Tab 10 owner submit the apk here ?

I have spent hours on the phone with Samsung over the galaxy s2 skyrocket not working with the dual view part of this apk. I got both tabs and the galaxy s2 to work with dual view on my TV.
I was told by several Samsung employees to strongly voice my dissatisfaction in the android market.

Any Tab -owners who could provide the smartview tab prog? Smartview from the market works but does not scale like mentioned on this thread. Thnx already!

Hehe yeah I've been wondering the same thing... I think it would work nicely with Note's resolution.

Its So damn lame of Samsung to not have this app to the Note!
I got a Galaxy 5.0 Wifi and it works great..
Even have a "ripped" version of the Dual view, but it shows half the screen..
Any progress on this?

[Q] Anyone have issues with certain apps not displaying FULLY on the Notes screen?

Hi All,
As the title asks... Is anyone else having issues with apps not displaying "fully" on the screen of the Note?
I have an issue with the "Scrabble Free" game where it runs ok but it only shows the game screen in the top left corner of the screen. It is showing the WHOLE page but it is less that a quarter the size of the screen.
Can someone maybe download this game and see if its that same for you? Its free. And if anyone has other apps that they have this issue with then perhaps share them here so we can make a list of these "wonky" apps.
If you know how to fix this then please advise as well.

Latest (I guess) Camera360 doesn't run in fullscreen.

No. I have not changed the DPI settings at all however I am running Darky Note ROM... Perhaps the ROM has changed my DPI settings? Everything else seems normal on the ROM though except that in the Dialer for example and in the Task Manager app - the Selection Bar that is usually in the top of the screen shows now at the bottom but I thought this may be a feature of the ROM...
What is the standard / stock DPI of the Note?

Thanks for the info. Would you mind perhaps DL'ing the Scrabble game to see if it does the same for you? I have an email out to EA Games on this but have not heard back yet. Perhaps I can get them to update the game for the Note if needed so that this issue can be avoided in the future...

The stock DPI is 320.
But if you have not modded it the chances are that it is at the stock value.
Nevertheless, install any DPI changing software from the market, they generally show the current value. if you are at 320 dpi then it most probably is the problem with the app. otherwise just change to 320 reboot and check

Thanks for the info my friend. I will check this when I get home from work tonight as I have my Galaxy Nexus with me today and my Note is at home. I will give this a try and report back here.

Hmmmmm... Perhaps it IS an app related issue. Can you please install the Scrabble game and tell me if you have the same issue? That would be most helpful.

Could you please post a link to the market?
I should mention that one of my chess clients also does not display properly. Granted chessboards are square...

It's an app issue. Various old apps have this problem.
For some apps, you can download spare parts and enable the compatibility mode.
If I do this for bonsai blast, it runs full screen but it is choppy.

Just search "Scrabble" in the market on your device an it should come right up...

Iam using Spare Parts+ (Plus), It fix this problem for some apps, but some apps are not made for Note, so it will not fix them , for ex. iGO Navigation

Ibrahim keyboard a keyboard for Arabic language. .. Does not show right. .. Smaller and looks funny. .. ..

Also have some app, not the main content of the app, but just the loading is no displaying fully (Match En Direct)

[Q] ICS Stunner apps incompatible?

I've just installed the latest ics stunner rom on galaxy note everything is working great very happy but a lot of apps (most of the good ones) don't show I'n the play store and when on the play google site it says these apps are incompatible with my phone, but there not I know they work and they do if I download the apk. Google tech support say its because I'm using a custom rom :s anyone else have this problem? Any fixes? Thanks in advance for any help.

You running on stock DPI ? 320 or 240 or 160(tablet)mode?

Thanks for quick reply. Im currently running on 200 as seems to work best but I have tryed all settings with full reboot/market data clear etc with no change.
Edit: it seems no one else has this problem, maybe its the chain fire ics repack that's causing the problem? I can't think of any other reasons, is there a newer version of this firmware?

Basically, the market (I refuse to call it "play store") is crap. In Euphoria Control set both dpi settings to 240, reboot, clear market data, reboot, and then you should be able to use the market. I never managed to make it work with DPI other that 240 for more than a day before it craps out again.
There are also hacked vending.apk versions that work with any DPI setting, but they tend to have problems, like not allowing to buy apps.

Market recognizes the apps and device based on the DPI. Use the stock dpi values like 320, 240 or 160 to get apps. After every dpi change and reboot remember to clear the market data. After installing the apps you can switch to the dpi u choose to!! This is the limitation of market and not the rom!

[Q] Apps not showing in Play Store - Changed DPI back to standard.

I've been trying to find "Badass Battery Monitor Pro" on the play store, however it doesn't show up. I did some digging and found that its something to do with the DPI (i was running at 260). I've changed it back to 320 (rebooted a few times and it still doesn't show. )
I also have the same problem with Juice Defender.
I'm running the German Official build of ICS. Other than being rooted and changing the DPI i've not modded the ROM in anyway.
Does any one have any idea why its not showing?

go into settings-->apps and find the market and clear its data and cache.

Not sure if you want to change to a custom rom, but if so I can recommend paranoidandroid. It's a rom based on CM9 but it is easy to change from phone mode to tablet mode WITH a working market in both modes. I am impressed and feel like this is the rom the Note deserves.

Finally! All aps in MultiWindow TW 5.1.1 (using MultiWindow Commander [root])

On KitKat I used MultiWindow Manager but it doesn't work on 5.1.1. Wanam Exposed works otherwise (for the few things I've tried changing like moving the clock to the center) but NOT for adding more apps to MultiWindow, at the moment anyway.
The app that finally relieved my frustration was MultiWindow Commander [root]. :victory:
Just thought I'd spare you all the time, frustration and refund requests by letting you know which app actually works for us. :angel:
I'm using Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900, but this app will very likely work on any 5.1.1 Samsung tablet running a TW based rom or rooted stock that supports MultiWindow natively, as reviews seem to suggest. I'm running the excellent new Tool ROM btw (it's rooted, deodexed stock with Knox disabled plus Aroma installer to choose which stuff from stock to keep or discard). Works with Xposed as well. Check it out if you have the SM-T 900.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been mostly off the grid for a few weeks.

The problem is outside of the T90x (12.2" Tab Pro Series), this thread won't be of much use or interest to those with either the T52x (10.1") or those with a T32x (8.4") Qualcomm based Tab Pro. Since Samsung have basically told their users to go fourth and multiply. Or at the least to by a newer Phablet. Which IMHO works out about the same.
