Kindle Fire HD 6" ( I really messed up?) - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I did a king root a while ago on the kindle HD 6". I went to restore it without giving the proper 2nd loader. I currently, can't get it to boot into fastboot mode. I same day aired a new stock cable from amazon, and am unable to get it to boot into fastboot mode, any suggestions?
When i try to use KFFirstaide64 It gives me " Connection to UI timed out" .. Any suggestions or direction to go with? I need to restore the kindle because it's stuck in a Select language loop. Any more info needed lmk i'll respond asap.

HD 6? or do you mean HD 7 (2012 version)? fastboot cable isn't a stock amazon cable, its a modified micro usb cable, that tells it to boot to fastboot. just search kindle fastboot cable on ebay, shouldnt cost more than $10

okay cool, I just ordered a fastboot cable. The only difference i know between the 7'' and mine that is labeled a 6 is a difference in the screen size/resolution and a 1.5 ghz processor instead of a 1/2 ghz..
thanks for your response.

looks like there is a hd 6 model which is 4th gen (2014) this part of the fourms is for second gen (2012) models if i am correct. go find kindle fire hd6 section of XDA and post a Q there, they might be able to help you .

And dont throw gapps on it, first, Can you open market? Or there is an error with the google service. Tell me the problem, i had some problem with my super tweaked kindle fire hd. But now i solved all of them. The chinese tablets arent good. You could expend a bit more and bought a kindle fire, or a kindle fire hd, these two are good and the price is perfect for the specs. I wanted to bought a chinese tablet but it had a lot of problems. I bought my kindle fire hd on ebay because Im from argentina
I saw that tablet that you bought and it isnt the best. Never think that a chinese thing will be perfect. Ever spend a bit more and bought a good tablet $50 more and you could buy a kindle fire second generation that have a lot of tweaks, roms, for me $50 dollars are nothing

Which Fire do I have?

How can I tell which version of the Kindle Fire I have? I know its the Fire, rather than the HD, but how can I tell whether it's the v1 or v2?
I only got it a few weeks ago (was purchased 2 weeks before that as a christmas present) but it was purchased from a shop rather than from Amazon directly and so it may have been sat in a stock room for 6 months before that.
Any version numbers I can look out for?
Olly
If it's running 10.2.x it's a KF2.
If it's running 6.3.x it's a KF1.

[Q] Boot Loop Fix

I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" 2nd Gen and it boots the Kindle Fire logo than shuts down and reboots again.
I can not get to fastboot and I have looked at these threads

Is it hard bricked or no?
OK just have to ask when you say 2nd gen , that term is kinda hard to follow because amazon calls the 2013 model that while we called the first gen of he's the 2nd gen device because of their hardware. Is it the 2012 or 2013 model, if it has no camera it's a 2013 model. Secondly did you try a fastboot cable yet?

It has one front facing camera (the one facing to me right? so confusing) So I guess it is the 2012 one. I don't have any special cables just normal usb cables.

I did just purchase a factory fastboot cable, it was cheap and I made sure it was for the Kindle Fire HD
OK good you should probably be able to fix it then.

[Q] Help Kindle Fire HD X43Z60 stuck

I am basically stuck at a static Kindle Fire screen no animation at all.
First of all I do not know where to start this is my sister's Kindle Fire HD. I have purchased a fast boot cable but is the X43Z60 1st or 2nd Generation? I can get to fast boot just fine.
How do I unbrick this Kindle Fire HD? I tried to find the manual instructions on this site but as I do not even know what type of Kindle Fire HD I have I don't even know where to begin.
http://glyde.com/glydecast/how-to/which-kindle-do-you-have/
x43z60 generation, year?
I can't boot to read a s/n, so far I haven't located any sites where I can look up the gen and year by model number alone. Any ideas?

Amazon Video Broken After Root

Currently using a 5th Gen 7" Fire tablet I got from Prime Day. I haven't owned a Fire tablet since the very first Kindle Fire and it had the same problem with Amazon Video being broken after rooting the device. I remember the only way to fix it was to unroot the Fire again, but it's been years since I looked into this problem. Is unrooting still the only solution to fixing Amazon Video?

Can't speak to FireOS v5 but Amazon Video works fine with most/all custom roms via the Underground app (despite the ominous name it is an 'official' app distributed by Amazon). Not sure if the Underground app will behave differently on FireOS as it is intended for non-Amazon devices running other Android variants.
