Hey guys, just ordered a Note 2, so stoked.
I am looking for a case that doesn't add a lot of bulk but still has all sides covered (why do they remove top/bottom or corners??), and has enough lip on the front to protect the screen. I was pretty interested in the Bodyglove case, but it can't be bought in Europe, where I live.
Any suggestions?

Body glove case is nice. Buuuuut, the lip prevents edge interaction the way the lips stands up. Using quick controls on aosp browser can be frustrating because of this. See the diztronics on Samsung protective cover + to see how it should be. I have both. As much as I like diztronic cases the OEM SAMSUNG case is very nice. Both though aren't up to my specifications for edge protection. The clear or smoked tpu's are usually much fire and in some cases a bit thicker. I am awaiting DBA cases to come out with their ultra case which seems to be perfect. You get a tpu line, x shaped plastic shell to protect corners and if the pictures do it Justice, you don't get otter box bulk. Either way, I would highly recommend any of the cases I just mentioned over the body glove. The diztronics is the cheapest and least flashy of all of them and you support an independent business owner at the same time.
I wish clay from diztronic would still sell screen protectors though. Too many people claiming warranty on them even though he was barely selling above cost and was losing money on them. Good example of what happens when you let your first world problems and penny pinching ways get in the way of good business and good product. Lose out on a high quality product he sold on the side to make people happy but his bank account couldn't afford it.

Thank you for the replies. I think I'll go for the Diztronic, as I like the matte better than the glossy Samsung protective cover.
Other suggestions are still welcome.

Hey everyone, so I know there's a few thread about cases which I've read through. But what I'm looking for is any info on good quality clear cases.
The main factor I like is the appearance. It's just about time a company really put an effort into the looks as well as the performance of a current Gen smartphone.
So my question is what clear cases are out there that some of you possibly already have or have seen online? I've scoured amazon and other sites and found some good ones, but still haven't found the "one".
Currently I own the otterbox commuter (too big, covers whole phone), the supcase hybrid with clear back which is what I currently have on. And I placed an order yesterday for the exact prism case with the clear back. Though I now realize the prism and supcase are probably the same exact case....
My issue with the supcase hybrid clear back is the scratches that accumulate so easily on the back. Most of the cases out there are simply cheap. Some are very good for the money but I'm looking for long lasting durable quality.
I have an eye on the supcase unicorn beetle hybrid as well but my turn off is the back being frosted to the point that you can't see the detail or shine of the m8. At least that's what I've seen in pictures.
I'll use an all clear or some kind of hybrid bumper clear back case. I also saw the griffin reveal case, but I can't find any good pics. And from the description it looks like it's the same material as the supcase bumper hybrid. I was hoping the griffins clear back would be a solid hard scratch resistant material.
I've also seen the case mate barely there and some others. So if any of you have any other clear or partly clear cases please post some feedback on how you like them and pics would be great too!

Yes it is.
Just a word of caution with clear cases, they have a tendency to collect lint and crap which is easily noticeable. I had the cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit Case clear and ended up selling it to a buddy. The pocket lint and crap collects under it and bugged the crap out of me. I cancelled my clear UAG order and changed it to black in fear of the same problem.
Now this might not bother some, but bothered me enough to share.
I have the Spigen® [STRONG-FLEX] Capsule Clear Ultra Fit (TPU), it's pretty nice:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tiveASIN=B00IF5B218&linkCode=shr&tag=cshus-20
Makes me feel like I can toss my phone on the table or something and it will be OK. Doesn't seem to scratch or yellow. Makes handling the phone more fun since I don't have to be so delicate and it seems durable while showing off the nice aluminum case.

I also have this case. Some people have said the edges look yellow. Um no. If the lighting in the room has some yellow in it then it will look like that on the thick sides. This is a very nice case with covered buttons for volume and power. And exact cut outs for everything including back mic, flash and camera lenses. Vs flash and one of the camera lenses being one cut out for both.

I too have the case but pictures using flash don't look right. Almost like the case diffuses the flash light so it's not direct out as well at the object you are photographing. I also have a qi receiver under my case in order to have wireless charging so now I have a black tpu case coming today to hide the qi receiver.

I have this case as well. I like how the power and volume buttons are covered. I can see where some say the case looks yellow, but you really have to take a close look to even notice.
All in all I am happy with the case. My one complaint is a sharp line that extents all around the back of the phone. I think it would have been better to have made this smooth as it would be more comfortable in hand.
Dropped my phone on the bleachers at the game, found my volume up button dented in, non-functional.
Pried it out, unbent it a bit and got it back in, works.
Bummed the case let that happen though. And agree about the sharp edge.

For those using a case, have you found one that actually offers decent click action on buttons? I like my cimo case, but the buttons are a bit mushy. Looking preferably for a solid color case but if a clear one has great buttons, I'd be willing to try it.

Ringke fusion has great tactile buttons, requires to use a conscious amount of pressure to press it. Used it for previous s6 and n4
Spigen Ultra Hybrid buttons are just crap, total mush and you will have zero feedback that you even pressed the buttons. Used it on n5x
Waiting on reviews of nillkin buttons since prices are almost similar between ringke and nillkin
I've tried three cases for this phone, all TPU or TPU + polycarbonate shell: Tudia Ultra Slim, Lightning Knight Hybrid Defender, and Diztronic Ultra. The Diztronic has the best button feel, it hardly feels different than the buttons without a case. The Lightning Knight is by far the worst, there is almost no tactile feedback on the buttons. The Diztronic is the one I use daily.

The Ultra is this one, it only comes in black and has beefier corners and a taller lip around the screen than the other Diztronic one (which comes in three colors). I have it on a black N5X so if it's staining the phone, I may not be seeing it, but it doesn't look stained to me. I have read that the blue Diztronic case is the one with staining problems.

I have the Diztronic case and it's quite good. The matte plastic material is very grippy and the buttons have a nice click to them. I can confirm the black case does not stain the black phone.
Only downside for me is I wanted something extremely thin (like a skin basically) and the Diztronic is just normal as far as thickness.
The cases from Google play store are both good. I don't use folio cases so I didn't buy that one or the ugly speck case. Just the nexus one with felt and the Adopted case. Both are super snug and good buttons. Makes it feel more premium to me.
My diztronic case came today and I love it. Feels solid, good grip, correct cut outs, and the buttons are EXCELLENT. Very pleased. Thanks for the help everyone!

If you're still in the market for a 'skin' case, I highly suggest the Nillkin Nature TPU Case (eBay is where I bought mine). It's only 0.6mm thick and is the thinnest "all-around" TPU case I've owned so far. And the buttons also retain most of their click feedback.
But as with thin cases, there is less impact protection and the Nillkin only has the slightest camera bump.
I use the factory case from google on my N5X (the fuzzy one, without the front flap). It fits so well that it feels like I'm pushing the button on the phone without a case. can easily feel the click of the buttons and doesn't feel mushy at all.
I thought the diztronic case was decent quality for price. Buttons on case are good. Not sure I'd agree that it's all the grippy though.

Nope, I have this case and that's probably the only negative thing I can comment about it. If you lay the phone flat on its back with the Nillkin case the camera is exposed and prone to scratching. I'm now using the Spigen thin fit, has a good lip for the camera bump and doesn't feel too bulky, but yeah no dust flaps for type-c and jack ports.
Another vote for the Diztronic slim fit.
When I bought the phone I originally also bought this Verus case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015GHQM7Q
I was coming from a Galaxy S3 with a ballistic dual layer case so I was used to the added bulk. I found the Verus case to be a little slippery at times but the buttons all worked great and I didn't have any real issues with it. The biggest issue by far came up when I finally tried to hook it up to some aux speakers with a cable. The depth of the case combined with the narrow cutouts for the headphone jack meant none of my aux cables would fit. My usual travel headphones use a more narrow jack so it wasn't a problem until I tried that.
That was a showstopper so I went with the Diztronic for my 5X. I originally had a Diztronic case for my S3 before changing it out and was always happy with it. I literally just received my new 5X case it but I can already tell I'll be using this for awhile. Buttons are better than with the Verus and grip is improved, altho still a little slippery; I remember from my S3 there was a little bit of a break in period. Cut outs are all aligned perfectly and it feels noticeably slimmer than the Verus. I like having the edge lips so I can lay the phone whatever way I want with reduced risk of damaging the glass. Definitely recommend.
I'm disappointed.
What it has going for it is the fact that it's slim and minimalistic, especially for a UAG case. It feels nice in the hand and the cutouts are precise. The dark smoke looks nice.
Where they went wrong
The buttons do not feel tactile and they do not protrude enough. In other words, they do not feel clicky like they would on the Plasma or Pathfinder series (not available for the Note 8). The glossy clear plastic also scratches really easily.
The glossy plastic scratches really easily.
In all fairness, it's technically compatible with case friendly screen protectors, but they cut it real close. The bottom corners barely have any clearance, which means that the TPU may push against the protector if you apply any amount of force. I can imagine it eventually lifting the protector by simply carrying it in your pocket.
The honeycomb pattern in the corners is basically a light imprint in the TPU, I can't see this magical honeycomb pattern making any difference in a serious drop.
Did I mention these retail for $40 a piece?
I would have been happy paying that amount if it didn't have these issues.
I've been loyal to UAG for years, but this is definitely a letdown for me.
UAG can get back on my good side when they decide to produce a good $40 case...
I personally bought this one
I bought them but it scratched easily. I complained to cs and they send me a code for any note 8 case for free so I ordered the monarch case of course. :victory: and you can keep the old case. Now I'm switching between the two I refused to use other cases except the Samsung rugged case.
Thanks for the Plyo review.
Too bad they didn't make the Pathfinder for the Note 8, but as a first time UAG user, I think the Plasma is a good $40 case.

I had speck in the past but it was OK any others that you recommend thanks
From what I've seen so far:
1. Spigen Liquid Air - Seems to have some good grip potential, especially with ridges on the sides. However, the gap around the camera bump is an interesting design choice...
2. Samsung OEM Matte Black Silicone Case - Seems to have a decent grip on the matte finish and very minimal.
3. Pitaka Air or MagEZ Case - While I haven't used them myself, I've heard good things about the grip/feel of the Ipitaka cases.
I'm personally going to try the PItaka MagEZ case when it becomes available (Aug 21st) since I like the idea of having embedded metal so I don't have to stick a scosche metal piece on the back of the case.
Also, just a heads up. According to some initial reviews on the new speck 'grip' cases, they're using a more plastic-feeling material for grips instead of rubberized and people are not happy about it. (I previously used them as well)
I switch phones often, but one thing that remains constant is my Pitaka MagEZ cases. Have purchased well over 10 of them at this point. Wouldn't choose any other thin case

Yes I've seen the one the only concern I've read it's a little difficult to remove the spen.. Your thoughts.
I will never choose Pitaka again.
Edges are rough and the upper part could have covered more
But I especially won't because it damaged my Note 10+ because of a defect in the inside of the case that made a grain of sand sized hole in the back of my phone.
Been using the Zizo Bolt on my Note 10+ for over 6 months. Excellent grip, usability and protection.
Kick stand doubles as a grip; either fully retract/extend it to keep from losing it's pins, if not secured in either position they can work their way out in your pocket! No issues with this case otherwise.
The one for the 20 seems to come with a temper glass screen protector; that may not work so well.
That's not present on the one for the 10.
Presumably you can use it without and substitute one one your choice?
Damn the 20's cam has a big bullseye on it... no likey. Buying a good case for the 10+ was very hard early on, no doubt the 20 U will be harder to protect

you know i never thought trying to find a case was going to leave me so hard pressed. note i do not mind the camera bump one bit. but they could have rounded out the camera hump a bit more. not the corners, but where the surface meets the edges and also they could have slanted the sides a bit more angled. who knows they did pull it off pretty good.
still on the camera bump.
note: with JJNUSA leather case you will be covering the mic on the camera bump. if that is a problem for you look elsewhere for a case.
i have received 200 in incentives to order goodies when i got my phone pre ordered and used it to order a few cases.
cases i ordered:
samsung rugged: bulky, heavy, don't like the texture on the back and flimsy kickstands that shoot off when used
samsung leather case: upgrade from last years, 2g lighter. seamless, but warps at the bottom. good cam protection.
samsun silicon: unsure if food grade safe. and slippery as glass
-other cases-
spigen Rugged Armor: oddly best all tpu case with carbon fiber accents. the back is slippery if trying to reach across the screen. side bumpers have one way slip grip and flimsy. camera is well protected. pen cut out too deep corner exposed but covered. top /bottom bumper good but top may block ear piece. 2g heavier then jjnusa leather
...now my official review of the JJNUSA Handmade Leather Case...
NOTE i used amazon prime
don't let the first pic they have on amazon throw you off, but what bothers me is the video they added to the product and it is of the s20 ultra; the camera lens is so scratched. i am still baffled how they did that. then again we will see in due time, because i can not stand the samsung leather case(which got me hooked on leather cases oddly) it is too slippery. the jjnusa case has tpu sides and saddle leather on back with plastic on the inside that the phone rests on. but i will say the leather on the back is so soft i think it sorta makes up for the lack of suede like the official samsung case has. then again the leather is so thick its' edges pop out the mold a teensy-weensy bit, but i doubt with proper use and not picking at it it will survive for a long time. with the 5% off coupon i also got another 1 usd off(who knows if it was the amazon prime). so for 19.95 it is a steal. most other leather cases are $30+. a steal; why may you say? hold on let me get to the rest of it. if we all remember the lg g4 leather back it was a looker. that was it, because it scratched easily and punctured easily. then we go onto the samsung leather case that scratches easily with minimal show. further more i can not say what that will mean over long term usage with this case from jjnusa. treat it lightly and it should be fine. now back to the leather on the jjnusa case. the leather reminds me of the type you get on a saddle and does not separate from itself. that is a plus. but a minus if the antiquing they use comes off very very easily?, and it does(con or not?) i had a cane that had antiquing and it turned my hands black, but after it leveled out it was fine. you know they always slap so much on to fill in the design that almost certainly more then half they put on will rub off. i have rubbed off some already. hence it would not rub off like wow, i had to use my nail. no way does it show like scratches on the samsung leather case. either way the extra antiquing will no matter what fade away over time and settle down to where it should be. i still think it will look good. at the same time the leather is much more scratch resistant then the latter. and the design and the look really grew on me. now on to the sides. the power button and volume are labeled with symbols and i like it even though i will never look at it. what else i like is that they are tpu like the rest of the sides. the tactile of the buttons are sturdy then again not too stiff not too mushy. then there is a bonus or an achilles heal; you move down the same side as the buttons and find a wrist strap punch out so you can add a wrist strap. have not tested it, seems like it should be worthy of use and not fearing. the bonus is removing the phone from the case, it does not shoot out like it does with the samsung leather case does. still it holds it in better. this is where i tell you that the jjnusa case has way better screen protection that leaves a better feel in the hand. the samsung leather case has a squidgy spongy top and bottom. the bottom is already warped and i never used it; i just put it on a few times and took it off. also a fail for the bottom bumper is the difficulty to remove the spen without nails. the jjnusa case is cut out just right and since it is thinner and more stiffer in a good way you can press your thumb or finger and hear that satisfying click to eject it. with that said the top and bottom bumper are raised higher then the samsung to protect the screen. the samsung case is more flush and flimsy.
i am a happy camper and if it fairs well i will update to 5 stars from 4, but i am really thinking at the price to slap down for another. as we all know leather cases do not last as long as other types
the reason i gave it 4 stars is i never really heard of JJNUSA till i saw them on etsy.com and since they where based in china i thought meh. then i thought to ebay's third party cases and said but leather? does not smell much like leather, oddly that is how saddles with the same type of leather smells. or it could be the antiquing they used and the shipping package. it was not shipped in a box or cheap plastic, it was in a cloth sleeve in a sealed padded envelope. JJNUSA do claim Oregon origins... yeah right etsy.com says ships from china.
i have played around with plenty of cases and phones in cases so it's not like i only have really had the note 20 ultra... just do not get one of them ultra thin all tpu cases. i have one for my lg g4 and only really protects the sides and back. busted the screen.
