Hey all, I just got a white Galaxy Note on Tuesday of last week, I LOVE this thing and while I miss having root on my Nexus 6... I am still loving this device on the stock rom. (Packages Disabled) However, I am having one issue with the build and I am hoping this is just how all of the Note 5 devices are... On the back glass, where the glass meets the metal bezel on the sides... There is the slightest sliver where the white ends and you can see a sliver of black before the metal. Anyone else have this? If so, I am going to stop worrying about it. Lol.

On a white AT&T note 5 (n920A) I do NOT have any black.. the white back meets and joins directly with the silver edge trim.

Damnit... It's so small that I want to overlook it because I don't want to return mine and get one of the many other issues. Dead pixels, bad screen colors, etc.
What do you think guys? Should I swap it at T-Mobile? I picked it up in store so I imagine they'd just hand me a new one.

For 700-800 USD, are you willing to accept less than perfect? Your choice...

My wife currently has the grey Verizon Note 2, initially, she really liked it but now decided she wants the white one.
is there any kind of stick-ons or something that one can put on the front of the phone "to change" its color i guess?
Planning to get her a white case so the back wont be an issue ^_^

You could use this which would get you a glass screen protector and change the color. All that would be left is the back door

Here are the vinyls, but idk how much of the front screen it would actually cover leaving some of the grey showing behind it.

Hey guys so today i initially got a white note 4, but after owning it for 30 mins i noticed that there was a huge gap that stuck out like a sore thumb. I took it back to the original AT&T store where i got it where they acknowledged there was a gap but couldn't help me because "their whole batch had gaps." Long story short i went to a second store where they opened 3 other units (all white) and they all had gaps in different areas, but not as noticeable as mine. I finally went to a THIRD store where they had a black one and exchanged it.
So my question to you guys with the white Note 4's do you have gaps?
I have a white one with no gaps whatsoever. My wife has the.black one. The only real difference i notice between the white and black is the sliipery feel of the the back on the white vs the black.
The back of the white one feels like such crap. The back of the black one is a little better but it isn't as grippy as the note 3.
It's just 'luck of the draw' I think. I have a black note 4 with no visible gaps
Got Black, no gaps

The "soft touch" coating on the black Note 4 is sprayed on and easy to scratch and mar. That's one of the reasons I got white. It's not expensive to replace a scratched back cover but it's nice not to have to.

Eye41 do not care about the back cover of either phone, as I will definitely be getting the wireless charging S view case when I get my device
Hello,
I am going to buy a nexus 6 next week or so, I have some doubts, any help will be appreciated
1) The screen is amoled, I am using a galaxy s3 and I can see some screen-burn in on it near the status bar area ( a distinct rectangle) i.e. the whole status bar is burned into the display. Are any of you facing any such issues on your devices? As the n6 has on screen nav bar it is more likely to burn in, Many people on youtube were complaining about the burn in? how common is it? is it a major issue?
2) I read that the back panel falls off, is that true? I mean the back panel is just glued in so it can come off and I saw people posting videos and writing articles about it.. Does that happen? or is it just because of puffed batteries on some faulty devices?
3) I can go for the note 4 (snapdragon) or wait for the S6 to release... But I am tired of samsung crap and their logo .. I would really love to use a nexus device , and specially a beast like n6. The burn in and back panel are my 2 major concerns.
4) I am thinking of midnight blue, cloud white may yellow over time or may get stained easily... I love cloud white tho, I am going to use a full TPU case... Really confused between these two.
Any inputs are appreciated. Thank you in advance
Just buy it.

Never had either issue and most people would say the same.
1) Yes I have very minor burn-in or image retention of my nav bar but not enough to truly make a difference
2) Has not happened to me
3) If you'll end up putting CM/Paranoid Android/AOSP based ROM. Just get a Nexus and save yourself the headache of dealing with Samsun Keis/Odin. Going from the S3 to the Nexus 4 was a relief in that sense
4) I have the Midnight Blue with a DBrand skin and plenty of cases
Overall, like mentioned above; “Just buy it." It's a great device!
I never understood why people care about what color the phone is if they're going to put a case on it anyway. Even if, for some reason, it changed color how would you know?
Do you want the latest greatest phone or do you want a phone that is easy to drop a custom ROM on and do what you like? If it's the latter pick the Nexus.

Burn-in takes a LOT of time. Samsuck software can make it happen easier than otherwise. Android 5 is less prone to this problem since the bar colors change frequently.

Not really any problem here. There is some concern that the quick charge may heat the battery more than it should, easy solution is to use a conventional 5 volt charger rather than the one it comes with.

Not sure I see any actual concerns here, rather this line appears to be fully supporting the Nexus. S6 is exynos, avoid it like the plague. These samsucks are also amoled, so this would certainly NOT help you with burn-in, if it could even be considered a problem.
4) I am thinking of midnight blue, cloud white may yellow over time or may get stained easily... I love cloud white tho, I am going to use a full TPU case... Really confused between these two.

Cannot help you with the color.
I can suggest that you do NOT buy a crappy TPU case. Those are basically the cheapest form of hard plastic, and will do absolutely NOTHING to protect your phone. I suggest a BALLISTIC TOUGH JACKET MAXX. Mine has been chewed and flung by a 16 month old boy. This is the case you want. Or if you want it to be slightly slimmer, get the non-MAXX version.
Nexus 6 it is for sure!. Will get the 32 gig midnight blue variant. Ofc I will be flashing CM12.. I know how exynos is a let down, and I want to stay away from samsung for a long long time. As far as cases are concerned, I am thinking about Ringke Fusion smoke OR Spigen Air bumper - Ultra hybrid (Gunmetal) case. The ringke one has a custom designer cutout for the back, so I can put some geeky designs and show off the back. Well, Thanks a lot to you all for the replies. Much appreciated.
I've just received my Galaxy S6 from ATT 64gb Gold version. And out of the bat I noticed this fade of pink color at the bottom of my screen. It's mostly noticeable in white background. I really tried getting used to it but its too visible and I would be returning the phone.
Going back to my perfect Galaxy s4 for now.
Had exactly the same issue, very faint pink one end of the screen transitioning to white the other end
Seen it on a number of units now

Did you get your unit replaced? If so can you post a screenshot of the new unit's screen? My S6 has a similiar issue, and i'm contemplating whether or not to take it back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/uneven-backlight-yellowish-hue-half-t3085887

How did you go about getting a return
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using XDA Free mobile app
Okay I've finally received my replacement! I was pretty worried because the package was delayed.
Verdict is.. I am keeping this one.
Of course the very visible pink tint was the first thing I looked for! I did not see any!!! So I put it under the white background test. I had to look really hard and moving the phone around I could see a slight of it at the bottom of the screen but really its nothing compared to my first device! I guess nothing is really perfect!
I would recommend anyone in the same position to go for the replacement under the return policy.
2nd device attached.
Who else is pissed that they settled for the piss yellow pen? As soon as I received my 512 GB version Samsung decided to pull this 'apple like' move.
I jumped the gun due to the tmobile 500 dollar credit so ill probably just end up selling the note 9 for around 600-900 dollars.
I would refund to tmobile but not sure how they would handle my trade in (note 5)

Not pissed, but felt they would allow other colors to come to the US at some point. Just gonna roll on with the blue until the note 10 drop. Also I'm going to wait on color options before I buy.
Why would I be mad? Almost perfect phone. Cool blue. Nerdy stylus. Note 9 looks sweet in black though.

Are you saying how the plastic nibeets the glass. Nothing like paper and pencil. I like the sound effects though. ??
Love the blue! Also love the feel of the spen on a screen protector for taking notes. Close enough to pencil and paper for me.

I go back and forth between the armor suit and the phantom skinz. Armor Suit fits better but the spen marks stay a long time. The phantomskinz is the best feel, but everytime I put a spigen case on, it peels up on the bottom edges. Wish they would cut it just a hair smaller and they would have the best screen protector out there. Still, I would say give phantom skinz a try, cause spen works great on it.

Who cares what color the pen is? It's insane to get all worked up about it that you are willing to dump the phone to get a different color.
My blue Note 9 in a black case looks awesome! Problem solved. :good:
Don't care, it's going in a case.
