Just got my Note straight from the UK, unlocked. Been on the phone with ATT about 6 times. I can send and recieve calls, texts - but no DATA. They can't seem to figure out why it will not pick up the ATT Data Network. Sim, EIN all linked, but no joy.
I am a noob, sorry - any ideas. I hate to send the phone back.
Any ideas ?
Update - Funk2641's response below (no APN was entered) - fixed it the issue.
Still, ATT would not give me a 4G smartphone plan - even though the H+ shows up next to the clock ? Initial Speedtests look like the same as my Infuse, Atrix and 4S.
Thanks everybody (Funk2641) for your help ! I hope this thread saves some agony for many as this phone is hitting the states. Don't know if I will tread in Eurospec for the Nexus, as I will want to hold that one in my hand first.
Also, this is a great phone - speed, battery life and the screen is fantastic !
Did you put the APN in correctly?

No, I will give it a try.
Thx.
please keep posted.....I'll be on Att Friday
I will follow this thread since I will also switch from T-mobile to AT&T.
I too have the same issues. I actually used a few different apns and got edge to work poorly, I sighed and told myself ICS would fix it all up better and to just enjoy the extra battery life of 2g now, God I hope a get this cleared up

Technically, the Note is just a big SGS2. There's no reason on the phone side you should be having a problem using the Cingular APN. I'm using a ISGS2 and a UK 3G Tab 10.1 on AT&T with no problem. It's either something with the provisioning of your account or your Note may not have the right bands (Asian?). The latter is unlikely if you ordered it from the UK. Try reseting the APN to default under network settings. Also, if you're on a legit 4G plan there's a specific APN that you can find on the ASGS2 forum.
Here is another APN that works, I had the same issue
For APN settings use the name ATT and then for APN the word phone. Leave everything else blank-what is needed will get filled in automatically. Click the APN when you finish adding it and the radio button turns green to indicate it is working. The advantage to this APN setting is it gives you clear access and data speeds are not limited by ATT.
Those apns didn't work and I too a would doubt my phone bring the Asian version,.this version of gingerbread has the option to suspend my data network from holding down the power button maybe the software isn't...... I don't know I have no clue but my apns are normal but when's search they don't come up
In the list automatically so something a wrong
and I came from a hspa+ phone so my plan is already to go, I called to double check
to op, glad you got it straightened out...who did you order from and how much?

What plans are you guys, please?
(Anyone on month to month $50 unlimited?
There are two different APNs to use depending on what data plan you're on. If you're using a MediaNet or Data for non-Smartphones plan (3G) you need to use the Cingular APN. If you're on a legit 4G plan you need to use the special APN for 4G phones. If you reverse it, you'll get no data. For those of you on the 4G plan, go in to the APN settings. When you press menu, there's a reset to default option. It should pull the 4G settings down automatically. If you're on a 3G plan don't do this and instead manually enter the below settings. If you do this correctly you should get data. If you have a quad-band phone and still can't get data it's something with your account settings and not the h/w.

I went out an purchased an HTC Raider from Rogers to replace my Bell S2.
I did the HTC Dev unlocked the the phone and rooted it. I applied the ICS update to the phone from Rogers. With the exception of the phone being Rooted - everything is stock.
I can make phone calls, send texts - no issues. I can't get the data to work. I've set the connection to use HSPA and GSM only. I use Petro Canada Mobility with ProxyDroid (I've always used this with no issues and I don't abuse the service and it is has worked on every android phone I've owned).
I've added the exact APN settingsand it doesn't work! I have done everything that I can think of and right now I am beating my head against a brick wall.

The following is set in ProxyDroid:

I have it set to come on once the wireless is off.
Can anyone help please?
Silly question, but if the apn settings accept the proxy info, what do you need proxydroid for?

Well, just go to your carrier and ask for an LTE compatible sim AMD also to set up your line for LTE
There is no cost go doing the above, the plan stays the same...only difference is you will have LTE

When I woke up yesterday morning and I see that my signal is fluctuating. All of a sudden I cannot connect to 3G. When I switch the phone to "2G Only" everything is working fine. I already tried factory reset but still the same. When I try to search networks, I can see "Singtel GSM" and "Singtel UMTS" I know that the UMTS is the 3G band but I cannot connect to it using the O4X. I asked a friend to test out my sim card to his Iphone 3G, and the 3G is working fine.
Here are my current specs:
LG Optimus 4X HD P880 - ROOTED
LG-P880-V10e-SEP-24-2012
This unit is still under warranty. Should I unroot it first before bringing to LG Center here in Singapore?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I switched over to Virgin yesterday on the "Gold" plan for 60$/month. (I don't see the word "LTE" anywhere on my account.. is that an issue?)
Brought in my own phone the i9305.
I live in Ottawa, however I can not get LTE for the life of me. Even traveled well around the city today, and no LTE just HSPA.
SIM card is red with white LTE lettering on it.

APN type : <Not set>
(tried Virgin's mobile settings, however I can't send MMS with Virgin APN settings)
phone is obviously unlocked.
The only thing I can think of is that the 2600 Mhz lte band hasn't been deployed yet in Ottawa, so my phone can't pick it up, until that switch is made over. Thoughts? I AM living in the coverage area where the 150 mbps service is being offered.
We can't help you in this forum...you need to post in the i9305 q&a
Thread moved to proper forum.

Weird issue but it's a small chance that is a modem / CSC related. If you have root access, than reboot into recovery and use this https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qnj68mzs8h3rhk6/qZESHfTord. It'll change your CSC to BMC, is a Canadian Bell HD VOICE should be enabled as well
If this doesn't help, try to change modem...
Thanks for the reply. I reprovisioned the account, changed a new LTE sim, and flashed the HD voice options (you took care of that for me in your thread, thanks)
Still no LTE.
Will try some modems tonight.
A question no one can answer (virgin tech support, or their techs ) does the bell (virgin) lte frequency support this phone, on lte .
Thanks guys.

Tried a bunch of modems, and no LTE.
Grr..... Tech support knows nothing. They can't even say does bell/virgin currently have the 2600 lte frequency activated?
Just an update on this:
Heres what I figured out after A LOT of research!
Rogers/Fido LTE band is on 2600 mhz plus another band. LTE works stock on the i9305, in Ottawa, Toronto, and wherever there is coverage.
Bell/Virgin LTE band is 1700 and they are rolling out on a new frequency 2600. LTE works on this band (2600) with the i9305. I have to be with Virgin so that it works at the cottage. So if you are with Bell/Virgin LTE will work in Toronto(verified), (maybe Montreal). and not in Ottawa because they havn't rolled out that frequency yet.
I was in Montreal in Feb/March and LTE didn't work with Virgin at the time.
OK this is atrix hd rooted with unlocked boot loader and running liquid smooth latest version 4.2.2 ... phone was working until I decided to switch to metro PCs from

Please advice if this hot swap can damage phone in a way that it won't work?
Or recognize correct service?

The Atrix HD doesn't have a removable battery. Do you mean you didn't power it off first? I once swapped a sim without powering off the phone and it did not cause any issues for me.
Yes... I replaced Sim while phone was powered on...
I know I can not remove battery
Metro uses cdma I believe. So that would be why there's no signal.
