When I charge my i8190, the display screen comes on, and stays on. It shows a white screen filled with small boxes. I used to see a battery icon indicating amount charged, followed in a few seconds by a blank screen. When I disconnect the charger, the screen stays on until I boot the phone.
When I boot my i8190, instead of seeing the Samsung boot screen followed by the CyanogenMod boot screen, I get this white/box screen followed by the CyanogenMod boot screen. Booting into recovery is a little erratic. It seems to take a couple of tries to accomplish.
How did I get here? I was using ClockworkMod Recovery (CWR) to install CyangenMod 12 over my stock ROM:
* I backed up my stock ROM installation
* I tried to install CyanogenMod (CM) 12 from my external CD card. The install froze.
* I restored my backup with its stock ROM. Everything was OK.
* I installed CM11. OK.
* I restored my backup with its stock ROM. OK.
* I tried to install CM12 from the internal SD card. The install froze.
* I restored my backup with its stock ROM. My boot and charging screens were SNAFU.
* I installed CM11. My boot and charging screens are still SNAFU. Phone operation seems OK.
Is there any way to get back normal behavior for the boot and charging.

I rooted my friends G1 using the following guide http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod#Flash_Android1.6_.26_CyanogenMod_latest after step 16 (updating the to the newest Radio) the box icon with the phone has been here for about 10mins now without rebooting itself. Should I pull the battery or leave it and it will reboot itself after a while.
Fixed that.
Now after the android splash screen the screen went black.
Do a complete wipe. If that doesn't help, boot into recovery and flash any stable rom.
Woke up to my phone at a fully white screen. I shut it off, but every time i turend it on it would simply freeze at boot animation.
Figured it was time for a new rom anyway so flashed paranoid android and it worked. Rebooted and it froze during boot animation.
Tried Android Revolution, Cyanogen Mod... all jsut start booting then freeze during the animation (all different animations). Sometimes they'll freeze for a while, then the animation runs for a second, then freezes again. Never ending. Wiped the whole device, clean install. Not sure what could possibly be going on.
I still have access to recovery (twrp 2.7.1.1/adb/fastboot).
It's awesome timing as i just got a moto360 yesterday... anod now can't use it as my phone is dead!

you say you wiped did you ever format data ?
have you tried re-flashing the firmware
have you tried flashing stock recovery / factory reset from stock recovery ?
Last night I started messing with the S5, I used Odin to restore to stock, then took all the OTA updates all the way to the 4.4.4 one that came out recently and after that I debloated it and removed the att apps and such, everything was fine. I tried changing the boot animation but messed up somewhere along the way and it wouldn't show a boot animation at all but still booted and got to the main screen and functioned perfectly. I decided to start over and tried to use Odin to restore to stock 4.4.2 but after flashing the first screen comes on and says that it's custom and has the open lock symbol then shows a slow and laggy samsung boot animation before freezing at some point on the animation and the screen goes completely black but the blue LED light stays on and it does nothing after that. I have tried using Odin repeatedly and erasing everything through recovery and nothing works. Please, any help would be appreciated.
It has been fixed I believe, I flashed the G900A_OA1_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 and it works again.
Where did you get the .tar.md5 file? I think I just bricked myself out of recovery mode
My A30 is cycling through a "boot error screen" after flashing TWRP. Looking for any suggestions, as it seems virtually bricked.
I'm not able to power the phone off by any means when cabled to PC. When it is unplugged, it shows boot screen once, then powers off. I can get to the download screen again, but it fails when re-flashing TWRP.
How I got here:
* unlocked the a30 bootloader,
* went into download mode
* connected by ODIN 3.13.1 from a Win 10 PC
* Flashed TWRP_A30_A305F_V3.tar, success.
* I accidentally rebooted, before I could load the "multidisabler zip"
I can't find a way to attach an image of the screen
Try flashing stock rom...
I flashed the original firmware 3 times, then on the 5th try it worked! Really weird.
I tried installing a custom ROM and rooting my Tab A 10.1 2019 and now it is stuck in a bootloop and will not turn off. What happens:
1. I get the Galaxy Tab A screen
2. Get a message about boot loader unlocked
3. Tablet starts showing the Samsung logo loading screen
4. Tablet restarts
I can't get it to break this loop, it won't even turn off., just keeps looping. Any advice?
When you see the boot-up logo quickly use adb to reboot into recovery and re-flash
Hi. How did manage the problem.? I have mine at the same behavior. Cable was dettached while flashing with Odin.
Can you still boot-up at all? i.e. does any boot screen show up? If the screen turns on make sure its plugged in and then use ADB reboot recovery to get back into recovery if it hasn't been overwritten. From there you can mount storage if its TWRP and push files to your device for the ROM, and then flash from recovery. Also you could try to find an app that can fully restore your device to factory, I know there are apps that can do that. Good luck bro. Try drfone?
