I've seen a couple of similar threads, but I still can't figure out how to do this.
When I'm connected to my car stereo via bluetooth, how do I make it so a text I receive comes through the stereo, or at the very least, notifies me that I have a text? Right now, when I'm driving down the road, when I get a call, it interupts whatever I have playing on the stereo, and I can answer the call. Can I turn something on, on my G4 that will make texts be read through bluetooth as well? My 5 year old windows phone (HTC HD7) could do this no problem, so it would blow me away to know that our new, really cool G4's do not have this ability.
I've tried using a couple of apps from the Play Store that seemed liked they might do the trick, but to avail.
Thanks.
Not sure but try enabling this. It's at the bottom of sounds & notification then under advanced setting. See screen grabs.

I just got a pair of HT280's and absolutely love them....except for the fact that I can't talk into it. I got the A2DP to work, can listen during phonecalls, but for some reason, it refuses to transmit my voice.
Here is what my bluetooth screens look like:

Do I have to disable those services? Is there something special I should be doing?
BTW, I'm using the latest 2.17 ROM for the wizard and have installed the A2DP hack. I really am unable to figure out whether the microphone itself is broken or if I'm doing something wrong. Do I need to install a more recent BT stack?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I cannot find anyone else with this problem and have spent hours trying to solve it myself.
weird, with my HT820 I have only wireless stereo and hgandsfree profiles, i don't have handset profile. :?:
I'm using HTC ONE 802t with custom ROM (http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6285336), it runs and navigates fine, but it happens that I can't make or receive calls, if I try there is a single "beep" and the call is ended, the same happens if they try to call me.
I'm using the same ROM (same 802t) of my sister, but she doesn't have this problem.
I can still navigate, download, play online apps while it's impossible to call.
It sounds like you have been playing with the settings and have either switched of the Radio or changed it to a non supported mode (not supported by your sim/provider
so save you stuff then factory reset the phone.
when you are making changes you are unsure of note down the before and after settings so it is easy to resolve :highfive:
The radio controls signal stuff it is not a FM/ type of radio
This happens everynow and then, if I reboot the phone it works again.
Should I turn off the radio ? I don't remember turning it on tho.

I've seen this in cars but don't know what it is. Do you?

The thing on the left of the shifter
I believe it just plays from usb stick with music inside it.
not really sure though, never seen before. but saw similar device to this with the mentioned functionality above.
Looks like a hands free device to me. Something like the Parrot MKi9100 (though it's not that).

That makes sense. You see that device mostly in rental cars here in US. I've been looking into getting a new car and saw it on a lot of vehicles as I've been looking at used rental cars.
This phone holder that goes into the cd slot. http://www.amazon.com/Mountek-nGroove-Universal-Phones-Devices/dp/B004G1L52Q/ref=sr_1_17?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1410889980&sr=1-17&keywords=phone+holder
IR worked only once with "IR Remote Control" by Johan Westling (I can't post link yet). I could control all my TV's in my house, Samsung and LG. Suddenly IR stopped working. I tried 10 apps (literally) and no one worked, even HTC Sense TV app. Couple days ago HTC app was waiting for signal when I was trying to configure remote manually. Now it's instantly showing error "Unable to configure button" like the IR blaster would be dead. Device is not rooted and unlocked and it didn't hit the ground yet cause it's quite new . Any help?

Have you tried just automatically setting up your remote in the HTC TV app by selecting the model of your tv and seeing if it works like that, cause i couldn't get it to receive a signal from a remote but it works fine when its preset.
Trying to find some surplus ones for use in small laptops. These are Motorola phones.

I thought the image went in the first post but this is a valid link to it on Imgur.
I think the metal bar is the speaker cone and it's mounted on something rubber/plastic that flexes. There could be a voice coil type thing in there or it could be piezo- electric like those annoying little beepers.
Those look like blocked. Are you sure are not fake?
I don't think so. Most cell phones seem to have them, some have tiny holes in them.
I suppose I could try a stethoscope on them, or make something like it with a microphone and headphones. By a weird fluke I have a real medical stethoscope in the other room. Mechanics use them too.
