My D950 came stock with 4.4.2, so I do not want to downgrade. Can someone please help me with unrooting the phone? This last update has almost made my phone unusable, because it keeps trying to force the fota. Since I no longer need it rooted, I would just as soon unroot the damn thing and go back to my stock 4.4.2. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You can use supersu to unroot its in the settings tab called full unroot

Hey,
So I was going to update my Phone to 4.4 KitKat.. This is a AT&T Phone. I've tried to update the phone twice through the check for updates section on the phone and both time it failed with this error message.
The phone was previously rooted and then the rooting was broken by an AT&T update so although I still get the Custom message when the phone boots up it's not rooted currently.. Do I have to roll this phone back to a unrooted version of the Firmware before I can do the update? If so can someone point me in a direction for instructions on doing that?
Thanks
Yes, from what I understand you have to go back to stock, or flash a leak.
I currently have a AT&T HTC One (m7). I have my phone rooted and my recovery flashed with TeamWin. I'm still on Jellybean and haven't upgraded. I'm confused what direction I should take. I want to update to the official Kitkat image for AT&T and have my recovery flashed still with teamwin and rooted. I currently have S-ON.
Here's a few questions that I tried finding answers for in old thread post, though I'm just confusing myself more.
Should I take S-Off? Since I'm still on Jellybean and I hear it's easier... can I revert back to my phone looking stock if I do this?
If so how do I do it on Jellybean?
How would I revert back to stock, S-On, stock recovery, no root from Kitkat, S-off, rooted, flashed recovery?
Can I upgrade from Jellybean, with flashed recovery and root to Kitkat without losing all my data? How would I do this?
Thanks for any support you can provide with any of these questions. I've been trying to answering them though the more I read the more confused with a direction I should take. Thanks for your time read thru this, if you need me to explain anything further please let me know.
Yes Do SOFF now, if you can.
Then all you need is stock recovery and stock ATT JB system. IF you have modified the system/removed pre-installed apps, you may run into issues with OTA.
Best case scenario will be to SOFF and then move to US DEV, this will remove ATT bloat, while Keeping the sense. Ofcourse more work.
Hey guys, I have had an s5 Active for a while and my friend rooted it back in december. I have no idea how he did it or if the bootloader is unlocked. All i can say is that I have xposed installer installed. Can someone help me out with either unrooting and updating or updating and staying rooted. If I have to unroot that is fine I just want to do this right without bricking.
also I'm on 4.4.2
update:
So i'm reading around and am getting the gist of needing to update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 ota and then from there go to 5. I know that'll unroot me. Is this correct
In General Section u will find most if not all which u seek.
Here one post.

Just bought an at&t variant on craigslist, I did a factory reset and tried to run the 5.1 update and I get an error updating, it downloads update.. then it reboots and starts installing showing the android guy working , then about 20 seconds into it it shows the little android guy on his back with a red exclamation and says error and then proceeds to reboot. Once rebooted it says it failed to update. I'm used to Samsung phones .. hoping there's an odin type option to get a stock 5.1 or rooted stock 5.1 on this guy, any headstart info would be appreciated. thanks
Here is the AT&T 5.0.2 firmware:

If you want to unlock your bootloader or root your phone don't upgrade yet! While you still have 5.0.2, root is possible with mofo and unlocking the bootloader can be done with sunshine. After you upgrade to 5.1 you can't downgrade nor root it. If you unlock it now and root it now, then you can keep root when you go to 5.1. But if you go to 5.1 before that you are screwed and lose the ability to do it forever.
We don't use odin. We have a tool called RSDLite. Search for it on these forums and you will find it and instructions on how to use it.

thanks
I'm on 4.4.2 ls995zvb I rooted with stump root but my phone is saying it isn't rooted, how can I go back to stock 4.4.2 and reroot and what should I use to reroot.. I don't wanna brick my phone as it's the only phone I have till my upgrade
The downgrade wont be necessary.
I inadvertently UNrooted my LS995 by allowing the ota from ZVA to ZVB. Got it rerooted with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Don't worry that it says for G3 and such...it worked for me fine. Just follow the directions that come with it.
You'll need custom recovery. TWRP 2.8.5.0 is latest recommended for this phone. Use Flashify from PlayStore to flash JUST THE .IMG FILE, NOT THE WHOLE ZIP.
These methods got my Flex back on track with being rooted with custom recovery, and updating to ZVB.
Hope it helps...
Peace,
Sox
