Live streaming not working - Google Chromecast

I am using tv cast + ccloudtv.org to cast live stream channels. Many channels are working on my mobile but i fail casting them to chromecast. I think the problem is because chrome cast not supporting some videos extensions. Is there a way to make chrome cast support all live streaming channels?

Most times it is an incompatible codec or streaming format that breaks on Chromecast.

Is there a way to make chrome cast support these formats?

Cast a live YouTube stream from a PC but not an android phone?

Today I was trying to watch a live YouTube stream from my phone. I got the message that live streams were not permitted on my Chromecast.
I then tried casting the same stream from my desktop. It worked. To verify that I wasn't just casting a chrome tab, I closed all of the chrome windows. The stream kept working.
I also tried casting the stream from chrome beta for android. I didn't get an error, but the casting didn't work. I just got a black screen on the phone and a YouTube screen on the TV.
Is there a way around this restriction? Can I cast a live feed from my android phone to my Chromecast?
Thanks,
Ken F

Being that live streams aren't supposed to work, either you got lucky, or they're working on it.
Not much you can do but wait to see if YouTube updates its info and/or capabilities.
Live streams work for me from my laptop but not from my phone as well. I don't think it's a mistake, I just don't think the mobile app has added that feature yet.
As I understand it the chromecast doesnt render the video but connects to youtube and plays a specially renderd version for the chrome cast, I guess this is not available live. When you cast from a pc the pc renders the video for you.
YouTube added this support on the Website just recently.....
Coming to an Android App near you at some point!

Private Videos too!

Looks like the next Android and iOS will remove the live limitation to casting. They may be beta testing it by only offering it on the website for the moment.
I think u should remove it, maybe it is beta?

Plex and Chrome support which Format file to cast for ChromeCast

Who can help me, i want to know that the Plex and Chrome can support which Format file to cast it for ChromeCast, i know the software can support mp4/mov, but i don't the all format thay can support for ChromeCast. encoding and file container please!:cyclops:
Plex will transcode your media to Chromecast-compatible format for casting. That's one of the major advantages of Plex - you don't have to store multiple copies of your media in different formats - you just let the Plex server convert as necessary.
Plex has three main methods it uses to send Media and the method used varies based on the container/Codec info of the source media.
Plex can:
Direct Play - No Transcoding is needed because the file is fully compatible with CCast Hardware. File is directly sent to the CCast for playback
Direct Stream - When Container is not CCast compatible but Codecs are, Plex will instead of sending the entire file will send a stream of it using the Video and selected Audio tracks. Since it is not really changing any of the tracks (just pulling them out of the container and sending to the CCast as a stream) it does not require a lot of processing power to do it this way. MKV used to be done this way in Plex but recently they have added some direct play options for some MKV sources.
Transcode - Similar to Direct Stream only it converts any CCast incompatible codecs to CCast compatible format then sends the stream. Does require a good CPU/RAM setup on the server side to work.
Subtitles are unfortunately done via Transcoding to hardcode the Subs into the Video. This is the advantage BubbleUPnP currently has over Plex.
Multiple Audio Tracks in the source will also force a Direct Stream or Transcode.
And any setting in Plex that requests a lower Bitrate will force the transcoder to kick in to re-compress the stream.
But Plex (and Bubble) should play any media type it encounters with the possible exception of Flash. And that is due to the fact that Flash is a proprietary format that requires a proprietary code to be able to use it.

[Q] udp stream to Chromecast

Hello,
from yesterday I have Chromecast and I have one question.
My internet provider streams also TV. I can watch it on Android with MXplayer and on PC with VLC. Tv is streamed e.g. with address udp://@239.255.0.30:5000
Can I somehow stream it to Chromecast from my tablet?
Thank you

Native screen casting to Chromecast is here!
The list of supported devices is short, but there is [EXPERIMENTAL] Enable Mirroring from any device to enable it for unsupported devices (note that many devices/ROMs will not work - there are likely legitimate reasons the official list is short).
If you can't do native mirroring, you can try mirror4cast though when I tried it, it was more like watching a slideshow than a video.
Also VLC has stated that they will support the CCast in some future release....
So that maybe another option once they get it up and running.

Yes, I tried this, it is one of the solutions.
But my tablet has ratio 16:10 and TV is 16:9, so video is not in fullscreen is adapted to the height and quality is not so good.

It will be really cool if VLC or MX Player will support CC.

Since I created this thread, I solved my problem by purchasing a set-top-box

This is likely due to the source as neither Plex or Bubble actually transcode those sources.
Is it all live steams or just some?

I mean I've never tried to stream any other live content. I do know that if bubble upnp 's server isn't running it won't play the content at all. I'll test a live stream from YouTube later today.

You tube wouldn't be affected since that has direct support for CCast...
I assumed you were trying to watch live channels from either Plex or Bubble.
Those are not transcoded and the quality is only as good as the source is because those channels only relay what they get from the source site to the CCast.
BubbleUPnP Server do transcode (or just remux) the hdhomerun live streams which are in a TS container (holding either a mpeg2 or h264 video, I don't remember).
If it stutters, refer to the BubbleUPnP Server troubleshooting page on this subject for possible solutions.

Best Chromecast app for android

Hey guys, i'm looking for best android apps to stream videos to chromecast. The problem is that most of them only support mp4 files. I found only one that supports all file formats, it transcodes the file on the fly on your phone and streams directly to chromecast. its called Megacast. Does anyone know anything similar?
I usually just stream from es file explorer

BubbleUPNP and Localcast

Yeah bubbleupnp is q pretty solid app, especially with transcoding for Chromecast.

Whats the difference compared to screen mirroring? At least compared with ES Chromecast Player the screen mirroring runs much smoother.
Solid Explorer is IMO by far the best I have used. Plays anything from anywhere. 1080p is laggy, but everything else I throw at it works fine. Streaming from phone, NAS and ftp...

I think people are missing the point of the question about transcoding. While there are many good Chromecast-enabled video players on Android (e.g., Avia, AllCast, BubbleUPnP, LocalCast, Plex, AllConnect being just the few that I have on my tablet), mostly they don't support on-the-fly transcoding because phone processors simply aren't up to handling the task smoothly yet, and it would drain battery power at an alarming rate if they could. Some like Plex and BubbleUPnP support transcoding using a remote server. But really it's easier just to transcode all your videos to a common mp4 format that's compatible with everything instead of worrying about on-the-fly transcoding.

Sometimes, just the audio track of videos must be transcoded (DTS, AC3) and Android devices are powerful enough for this task (which BubbleUPnP can perform locally).
